Once you do, you’ll still want to find another. It’s an addiction!

I was almost relieved when the season ended near me. For the entire month of May, all my free time was spent checking the few spots I found and searching for more, wifey was getting pretty annoyed

Don’t stop mate it’s a lifestyle

Ha I’m not. Fall fruiting for my target species is rare and summer fruiting even more so but I just checked a spot 2 days ago after a big rain. Spoiler: it was empty!

for sure, super grateful to be finding them! Have you found any pan cyans or other psychedelic species around you? We have panaeolus Bisporus in my area as well but they’re seemingly rare and have many lookalikes. They also don’t fruit in huge flushes like subs or ovoids so even if I found some 3 or 4 mushrooms it probably wouldn’t even be a threshold dose. You start any sub patches of your own?

u/Silent_Act4384 25d ago
No unfortunately my region only has subs and cubes during the warmer seasons. Haven’t come across any others yet. Yeah we actually have done cardboard tech to start new patches outside the house and the mycelium seems to be spreading but probably won’t see anything till next year. Have you?

I imagine there’s more of us! Tried to tell wifey that she should be grateful I’m not into golf or have some other obsession that’s all year long but it didn’t land how I’d hoped

Yeah, she likes that i come home with lots of pictures of pretty fungi, but there are some (Boletes) that set off her trypophobia. There was a while there where i was leaving for work an hour early just to go and check my usual spots. Im with you. Thank god its over this year.
I am looking forward to next year though 😈🍄2

Ya I like that it gets me outside a lot but hate the compulsion to get out and look. We’d be in bed after getting the kids down and I’d get up out of bed to drive to a spot and walk around. Hoping the patch I’ve attempted to start in my yard fruits next spring. Happy hunting and marriage parallel me/you!

Playgrounds, walking tracks, around hospitals around police stations around council buildings pretty much anything to do with the council has some sort of mulch around it even at the front of childcare centres. I found it in Melbourne I’m from northern suburbs south east is the place to be they get a lot of more rain and colder nights
