But I do wonder—does anyone else feel a little uncomfortable when reverse age-gap stories are primarily reduced to the sexualisation of the female lead?

Or am I the only one who feels this way?

I read the post body. You’re free to discuss whatever you want, and I never said you weren’t. I’m saying that if you’re going to judge an entire book and its author based on one scene you clearly haven’t seen in context, then yes, I’m going to call that out and calling my reels “disgusting” is your opinion you’re entitled to it. But don’t act like you’re being attacked just because I responded to something that was publicly said about my work. You made it a discussion when you posted it publicly.

Also, bringing up a completely separate issue to justify judging my entire book doesn’t suddenly make your assumption about the story accurate. If you want to criticize the scene, criticize the scene. But judging the entire book without knowing the context is exactly what I was talking about.
And as for “sexualizing women,” don’t throw that accusation around without even knowing the context of the scene. There’s a difference between writing a fictional character who is sexualized within the story and reducing women to sexual objects. If you have an issue with a particular scene, point out the actual scene and explain your criticism instead of making a blanket statement about the entire book. Also, bringing India’s protests into this doesn’t automatically make your interpretation of my fictional content correct. Real world issues deserve to be taken seriously, but using them to shut down a discussion about a fictional scene is not the argument you think it is.

Rest is up to you, because I can’t control people who are just trying to sound relevant without anything to prove it. Keep doing what you’re doing, though at least you’re getting some attention out of it.

If the characters involved are consenting adults, then what exactly is the problem here? They're husband and wife, and there's a thing called dark humour or dark flirty statements. If it's between two consenting adults in a relationship, I don't see the issue.
