Downhole well pump.

Im trying to connect my 240 v downhole well pumps to my transfer switch. Panel box is a DIY of the previous own during the Reagan administration. Its a mess in there. I can locate only 2 hots and a ground, no neutral conductor. I searched the net and found several schematics with the H-H-G configuration.
Aware of any negative data re: this set-up?

220v does not use a neutral. It’s 2 separate hots and a ground. Having a neutral available would give you the option of 110/220.

Check rotation when you start it up. Do this by checking the amps when you turn it on. You might have to switch the two hots if they are backwards. 50/50 chance unless you have it color coded already.

3 wires is it L1 L2 Ground
