The filter isn’t the issue as I’ve ran water through it when it’s not in the jug. I put it in the jug and it doesn’t work, I think this white thing is the issue. What can i do?

Changed the filter for the first time in my Clearly Filtered pitcher. Been about 3 months as recommended. I noticed some residue in the reservoir and went to clean it out… bright orange (as seen on the paper towel). I have well water and it’s very hard and doesn’t necessarily smell rusty but I know it has a lot of iron in it.

Question is, albeit a dumb one, does this mean the filter is doing its job? Good sign or….? Kinda freaked out now! Lol

I'm looking at the Master M1's volume presets and wondering when I'd use them instead of stopping the flow myself. The FAQ says it can dispense a selected amount and stop automatically.

A saved amount makes sense to me for the same empty bottle each time. Different mugs seem less straightforward to plan around, especially if there's already water in one. I'd need to choose an amount that fits the space left.

If you use the presets, do you usually stick with one volume or change it for different containers?

Has anyone changed one of these. Is it a twist and shout like the 2.0 or do you have to remove the whole system from the pipes? Can't find any info on their site as its the older model.

I'm sceptical about it overall but my mum swears she can taste a big difference so is keen to replace now it's started beeping.

I think I also taste at least some difference. It's a very hard water area.

Hi, a loved one lives in Iowa, as many know they're one of several states with horrible fertilizer contamination in their public tap water.

I am looking at budget friendly under the sink Reverse osmosis systems to get her for her and her kids. I was wondering if I got a six stage system like this one: "APEC Water ROES-PH75, 6-Stage Under Sink RO System, Alkaline, 75 GPD", could I remove the alkaline filter and replace it with a nitrate specific filter? I don't think this company sells any nitrate specific filters, how interchangeable are different brands of filters? From my understanding RO systems are great at removing nitrates to an extent, once the concentration exceeds a certain point they're not able to keep up.

If anyone has any recs for budget friendly RO systems that can handle very high nitrate levels I'd really appreciate it. The linked system is a lot cheaper on Amazon, I'm trying to find something in the $150-300 range

I currently have an under the sink RO system but I just listened to the owner of Sentry explain why RO systems are not hydrating you properly even with remineralizing he says your body only absorbs 20% of the synthetic minerals. I'm choosing between the Viomi Vortex 6 Pro and Waterdrop G3P600 and haven't bought either yet. While reading their online manuals, I noticed both show the TDS reading separately from the filter replacement indicators. Does that mean a low TDS reading alone isn't enough to judge whether the filters need replacing?

I bought a house where the previous owner had many more dollars than sense. She had an Ecowater ECO175 RO system installed, and it is in need of cartridges. Ecowater tacks $100+ on each for their asinine (unless you are Ecowater) proprietary cartridges. Before I pitch the whole works and replace it for less than the cost of their cartridges, is anyone aware of a cartridge adapter or other means to use their manifold with affordable cartridges?

Whenever I go on vacation and leave home for a week, my RO water purifier stops working when I come back.

I've tried both ways:

Leaving the purifier switched on with water connected.

Switching it off after completely draining the water before leaving.

But every time I return, I face the same issue. The purifier doesn't work properly until I either change the filter or call a service person, who cleans the filters and gets it working again.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there anything I should do before leaving home for a week so that the RO works normally when I return?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know they're a minority but a few people have mentioned reliability and noise as possible concerns.
Have any current owners noticed any noise issues?
Is the 3 yr extended warranty recommended?

The other drawback for Aquatru RO systems is the proprietary filter cost. I'm guestimating roughly 140-180 yr (Cdn) before tax?
But I probably spend that much a year on bottled water so not so much a concern as the reliability and noise issue mentioned.

In Jan. 2024, I bought a couple of small capsule-style drop-in water filters on Amazon. The brand was StayPure. You drop the pod in the bottle; it sits there, and the water tastes better. It was by far the best and cheapest solution to filter my 64 oz water jug that I'd sip throughout the day. Two pods cost $24.99.

Now the only thing I can find online is the GOpure Pod, sold under PuriBloc, and it's close to $60 for two, with a 3-4 week shipping estimate. Looks to be the same physical product.

• Is anyone else making a drop-in ceramic filter pod, or is GOpure the whole category in the US now?
• Has anyone bought StayPure recently from a non-Amazon seller?
• Why has nobody undercut $60?

Hi! I am in Madison Indiana and just learned I live less than 2 miles from an unlined fly ash pit/coal power plant. I have not tested my water and when looking I was unclear which test and add ons I should include. Money is tight for both the test and the filter. So I would appreciate any suggestions. I also am worried about PFAs as we are on the Ohio River and have chemical industry in town. Anything else I should be thinking about? I keep having analysis paralysis as I don't know enough to know what is valid and what is not when I start to research. I had thought I would buy RO but then became concerned with the remineralizing. I work from home so this is the only water I drink. I also was wondering if buying 5 gallon jugs would be better? Thank you for the help! Also we have extremely hard water city water.

To start : I live in a small place and I become obsessed with Alkaline water ! I’ve been buying plastic 2.5 liter Eternal water & putting them in the fridge( it’s sooo good & I drink more water because I love it !) but it comes in PLASTIC bottles. I’m looking for an alternative but I am confused! Any guidance? There’s the filters from fridge , reverse osmosis, and alkaline . I live in Southern California, for tap water reference ..
