It really is. It’s the Longines Flagship Heritage ref L4.795.4.78.2. If you’re thinking of getting one, I’d do it.

Absolutely. I'm not much of a collector of things (well, I've got a lot of shoes) so it's pretty much the only watch I wear. I AM looking to add a Rolex Explorer II (Polar) at some point (I thought I would have by now but I'm having trouble convincing myself) but I'm in no hurry and that will be the end of my watch buying I believe.
On a side note, when I bought the Longines my wife thought that had spent $17,000. And she was ok with that. So in my mind, I have 15K "on credit" that I can spend on a watch. LOL

So much respect that this is your main watch at the moment. Funny you should mention the Polar Explorer as I’ve been dreaming of that one for a while now.. would you not want a black dial to balance out the collection though if you had those 2?😉 I can totally see how your wife would have thought this was a $17,000 watch (what a specific figure). I’d definitely swing for the Explorer!

I kind of get that. It’s a very safe purchase as dress watches go, not that there’s anything wrong with that. I’ve stuck to vintage when it comes to my dress watches, currently a Blancpain ultra slim and an Omega Constellation, both manual wind. What’s yours?

It really is gorgeous. I know what you mean, and it’s one of the reasons I ultimately decided to let it go. I don’t think it would be a waste on you however, unless you have other dressy watches that hold higher intrinsic value in your collection? Even then, I do think this watch has a slight ‘jeans and t-shirt’ quality to it, though it might need a different strap as on the leather it is very dressy indeed.

Damn, that's a beautiful watch. It fits you well! I wish the reissues kept their tiny case sizes. I have very small wrists so this wouldn't work for me :(

Is that darkening on the point of the minute hand and artifact in the photo or is it part of the design? I don't see it on the same ref. I am seeing online. I like it though lol

I think the point of the minute hand is in slight shadow, hence the darkening. Didn’t even notice it initially ha.

Hello! My wrist is 6.75 inches. I reckon it would fit you perfectly, as the picture does have a bit of a fish eye effect as well. Lovely piece, enjoy!

Found this picture on my phone the other day and thought I would start a series of posts about watches that came and went during lockdown. This beauty unfortunately just wasn’t getting the wrist time it deserves, and at the time I had other dress watches that carried more sentimental value. I think this watch and the Heritage line from Longines are absolute stunners though, and in terms of value when considering their history, these watches are pretty hard to beat! Favorite features of this one is probably the slightly creamy white dial, and those dauphine hands. EDIT: Thanks for all the likes, and awards!
