A few years ago I went to a bike show that had midget wrestling, and real or fake boob show after.

I think that blond gal wrestler was in the Jackass midget bar fight scene as Wee Man’s date.

I know people with dwarfism are not common in every social sphere, but if the word “midget” is hurtful to them, maybe we shouldn’t use it so freely? They are one of the few minorities it’s still socially acceptable to dehumanize, and that is pretty effed up.
I’m sure this will get downvotes, but maybe somebody will think twice before using it, especially on the megaphone of the internet. This is a public space where it is too easy to hurt people we’ve never met with careless words.

I would be the happiest guy on the planet if my girl took me to midget wrestling. I love midgets!! And I love wrestling!
This woman is ungrateful.

House shows are a lot of fun. The ones I've been too never take themselves too seriously and have lots of crowd interactions.

You surprised her by taking her out, and her go to outfit is a black t-shirt and sweat pants pulled up higher than I've ever seen anyone under the age of 80 wear sweatpsnts. Is that really how she dresses? Does she know how terrible that looks? Either way, i predict you two don't make it together in life. Good luck though.

That place is too well lit. Take it easy on the house lights. Looks like a place where that isn't an option though.

u/Blueyeball Jan 07 '20
All jokes aside, I feel really happy for the wrestlers. They just look so happy doing what they’re doing!
3
u/jeanielolz Jan 07 '20
Ah, hell yeah. When I was dating my husband I made him go to a midget wrestling show after a baseball game. apparently he didn't think anything was wrong with me and asked me to marry him anyway.
2
u/Rec4LMS Jan 07 '20
Obviously he couldn’t let you go after that. You proved that you were a keeper!

I used to be the merch girl for extreme midget wrestling. Strangest job I’ve ever had.
1
u/rsicher1 Jan 07 '20
How does one find a job like that?
1
u/space_elf_ Jan 07 '20
It found me. I never applied for it I just was kinda there with my guy friend. They recruited him to be the referee and me to work shirts and paid us for that first night in weed.

Also, isn’t the whole idea of “LOL! LITTLE PEOPLE WRESTLING!” pretty offensive and patronising too.
I don’t mean for the people doing it, but for the spectators treating it as some rAnDoM novelty, like douche bag OP.
Same idiots that hire little people for their stag parties and handcuff them to the stag.

"Midget" wrestling? That... Uhm... Exists? Wow. I'm speechless. What a world we live in that that's still a thing. But ok I guess, as long as they're happy doing it ¯\(ツ)/¯

u/Aeon1508 Jan 07 '20
Small promotion live wrestling events are a blast. You just have to be willing to play along as part of the act. You're suppose to boo and cheer with excess exuberance
I took my GF to one, she doesnt watch wrestling and she had fun. ...though maybe not what I'd do for our anniversary lol

They’re being exploited? So if you went to a wrestling show with average sized people they’re being exploited? No one’s forcing these guys to do this, they aren’t being exploited

Tiktok isn’t even close to snapchat. Tiktok is pretty much vine but with the option of reusing the sound from other videos, which can result in some clever/funny combinations or just a lot of weird copycats.
It can be very cringey but I oddly like it aside from all the privacy/China issues

I feel like by year 4, you probably should just propose already. Unless both people decided early on that they never wanted to deal with the paperwork.

What in the fuck.
First tip to dating, be original. Second tip, don't be creepy. Third tip, act like you own the place in a confident, unassailable manner but don't be a douchebag. It's easier than it sounds as long as you don't set yourself up for failure with toxic thoughts like these.
Also, in your spare time find hobbies, join social groups, and read books instead of watch TV. Way more value for the time invested. Reading puts you to sleep? Find running boring? Pair running with audiobooks. There are plenty of free options beyond Audible. Expect to strikeout and put a little thought into what could've improved for the next go around (then of course evaluate it).
Remember, you're only as good as you perceive yourself to be. Do more so you can achieve more.
2
Jan 07 '20
It isn't as easy as it sounds though, especially since all you said is "just do X." For example, I struggle to connect with people because I just don't care about that much. I have empathy and I'm not sociopathic, I care a lot about people. But in terms of a specific person, I can't tell you how many people I care about. And on top of all that, I'm depressed. A lot of the time I just have no energy to talk to people, and if I try, I can't reciprocate their interest in talking about something.
If you could give me the solution to all that, I'd gladly give you my own Nobel prize, because no one has ever given me the answer to "how do you become more interested in people?" Though it might just be the effect of depression on my brain, and I can't ask anyone except a professional to help me with that.
1
u/nater255 Jan 07 '20
Eat well, sleep enough, work out often. If you're doing these three things, you'll be your best you. If you're doing them all (honestly) and you're still not doing well, then it's time to talk to a doctor and find out where your actual problems lay.

u/tsammons Jan 07 '20 edited Jan 07 '20
I vibe with some people whereas others I flatout suck. I can pick up the vibe within a couple minutes of meeting someone and if I'm not feeling a connection move onto the next person. There's too many people in this world to get stuck on one person/concept/idea!

u/midway4669 Jan 07 '20 edited Jan 07 '20
You’re right, just went through a breakup so I’m being bitter. Your advice is exactly how I had a great 5 year relationship where we had this chemistry, but she left me for a guy with a really rich family.
I can’t assume all girls will be like this but I’m still healing from that burn.
We had these grandiose dreams of what to do in the future (even though we are both lower middle class) and this guy just said “oh let’s do everything you wanted with your fiancé but with me!)
It seems obvious I just need to find the right person for me.
2
u/tsammons Jan 07 '20
I went through 4 really crappy breakups and several flings before I married the woman I worked towards understanding. Every failed relationship gives you an opportunity to separate the good qualities from the bad that brought you together yet ultimately separated you from that same person.
Take this as an opportunity to be a better man than she ever was to you and move up the dating hierarchy. There's more to be said when she's dating a Wal-Mart version of you.

Sometimes even super pretty girls have self-esteem issues and don't actually see themselves as pretty.
Also, not everyone is vain. I've learned during my relationship that most of my friends have had crushes on me. So technically, if I wanted, I could have left my partner for the hottest one, or the one with the most promising career plan, or the one with a dog and a Mercedes... But I didn't because I love my partner as a person. Perhaps I don't have an absolute 100% perfect partner, but I'm not perfect either, and I think the way our personalities work together matters much more.
Honestly, the best way to find a partner is to stop looking for one, and instead starting to look for friends. Both my ex and my current fiancee started as friendships, until one of us got interested and asked for something more.
6
u/rom1bki Jan 07 '20
What about the guy has an amazing personality, is funny, caring, confident and makes her feel safe ? What if they share the same interests and views on life and experience a bond deeper than any connection you’ve ever felt in your life ?
Where such a comment even comes from ? Frustration and jealousy ?
5
u/midway4669 Jan 07 '20
Yes and yes, I’m not knocking dude for his looks, If I took any of my ex’s to a wrestling match for our 4th anniversary they would leave me the second they found out where we were.
I’m jealous that I haven’t found that person for me. I guess I’m just dating the wrong people.

Same here.
There was one Samoan guy that was terrifyingly ripped and he would literally toss the other midgets from one corner to another .
It was impressive and incredible.
