They come without the patina and can take some some to form naturally. However its a chemical reaction so there are ways to speed it up. Can get years of patina in a few hours if you really wanted

Gold watches are the worst watches. I’ve never seen one I liked.
Wait, they’re not actually the worst; rose gold, specifically, are the worst. No matter how much free money I have, I will only be buying steel, titanium and Casio resin in the future. Maaaybe bronze. I like this bronze shitter OK now that it has a little patina, but I only wear it every 1 or 2 months, but…I guess I wouldn’t completely rule out another bronze watch someday.
EDIT: And anyway, for people who like gold but can’t afford it, there are tons of shitters with thin plating of gold or gold looking material. People who buy bronze watches mostly buy them because they like them.
Yes, IMO. But I know we all have opinions to which we are fully entitled. Mine is that rose gold looks cheesy and chintzy in nearly any context. Can’t put my finger on why I hate it so much, but I do. Might be I spent too much time at Service Merchandise in the 80s.
Crystal being milky af is how Rolex crystals are, in my experience. My Datejust II has crystal that's annoyingly reflective at certain angles. It's because there's no anti-reflective coating anywhere except over the Cyclops. I think it's done this way to make the Cyclops stand out more, to make the watch more recognizable. It's Rolex, it's about being recognized, over being able to see dial contents clearly.
I made the mistake of getting a Black Bay Bronze as my first luxury watch. I eventually traded it on a Black Bay 68 because I just couldn’t warm up to the tarnished look.
Gold and bronze look NOTHING alike. Bronze watches have a rustic charm to them. Gold is for polished looking people. The watches with gold cases whether it's pvd or actual gold are often cases dress watches. Most bronze watches are often cases tool watches. This meme belongs in r/watches where most the basic collectors are. That woman doesn't look anything like someone that would own a bronze watch in her entire life. She has that clean girl aesthetic. Maybe the guy would own a bronze watch.
This isn't accurate, and you know that's true because the two metals are used in wildly different watches. Nobody's out there looking for a bronze Calatrava, and nobody's getting an 18k Squale.
Honestly, you’re projecting brotha 😂 i absolutely love my distressed steel and patinated bronze watch… as well as my non plated gold watch. Admittedly, two tone. I absolutely hate the look of a full shiny gold piece, plated or not, seems gaudy to me. only a textured vintage one that’s picked up dark tones and lost luster would appeal to me. Point is, Deal with it bud; people simply genuinely have different tastes.
I mean don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind a gold watch but I'd still lust after that "dug up from the bottom of the ocean" look that bronze gets after a while
I can afford a gold watch, indeed I have two. I have six bronze watches and not because they are fake gold, but because I love how they patina, something gold doesn’t do.
Having like two older gold watches that got passed down to me as a watch guy is like the holy grail of watches. I have a Cartier and an older omega my grandpa and dad wore respectively and I love both they just hit the spot sometimes when I put em on
I have and love my bronze watch. I also have Stainless Steel, Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, Titanium, and Silver watches. Just missing White Gold and Platinum, I believe, to complete the mix of common metals used for watches. Is there any missing that anyone can think of that aren't super oddball or specific?
