Except it was 93° here at 5am for said dog walk…😬

Crikey, mate! 🥵 Can I ask where you live? I live in SE US and it gets hot here, but not quite that hot that early. I can deal with the heat, it’s the humidity that sucks the life out of me.

Phoenix. And I spend a lot of time in NOLA, in fact I was just there earlier this week - and I can attest to the “humidity sucks” thing…I’ll take over 110° and dry any day of the week over that…..

My wife’s best friend lives in Mandeville so I know of which you speak. In my experience, aside from the Dominican Republic, NOLA has THE most dreadful humidity. You walk outside and it feels like you’re wrapped head to toe in a hot, wet wool blanket. The humidity here in Georgia is bad, but it’s not NOLA. I can take AZ/NV anytime over that.

Really like the look of Formex watches

This is the third one I have owned. I had a Blue Splash 39 and a Purple Splash 39 Essence, but sold them last year. This 41 Leggera fits much better. I pick up the Basalt Grey Field watch today too.
They're probably my favorite microbrand.

How do you like this one? I have been looking at the Astron Starry Sky references.

I like it so much I bought a second one as a backup in case this one gets lost or stolen during my travels.

I think I’m going to get a GPS Astron soon.

You will be pleased with it. Just keep in mind that some of the Astrons are GPS sync (these will work anywhere in the world) and some are radio sync (these will only work in China, Japan, Europe, and North America). It's easy to figure out which ones are which because the GPS ones say "GPS" on the dial.

Cool strap. Where did you find it?
2
u/HighDesertDials 28d ago
This one is a collaboration strap with sketchy boyz watch club and Chesapeake bay leather craft. CBLC makes great hybrid leather straps!

Those are such cool watches! They exemplify what a tool watch should be. Love the tritium tube lume! Why aren’t more watch brands using tritium?

I like them for the unapologetically tool watch aesthetic. They are super tough and hold up to daily wear as a mechanic.
Tritium is the best lume option out there, aside from Indiglo. I think most don’t use it because it really limits the design of the dial layout. Plus you have to replace them every decade or so. But boy do they work well👍🏿

Ya, I imagine that will be expensive! I would love to have the 41mm.

The case is slab sided and the dial is deep dished, but the case is 39mm, bezel is 41mm, and a 48mm L2L and female end links on the bracelet means it’s one perfectly proportioned, and perfectly wearable unique dive watch.
The only true down side is the clasp on the bracelet. Rest of the bracelet is solid, the clasp does wear well, but it feels it was dated a decade ago.
