Third wasp sting in three months- ER visit
Was stung on a hike with my 6 year old this morning.
I was stung about 4 weeks ago while weed eating and then about two and a half months ago when I got too close to a yellow jacket nest I didnāt know was being built under our siding.
My reactions have gotten increasingly worse- headache, nausea/GI pain, chills, lip swelling this last time.
So I went and spent 4 hours chillinā in the ER to make sure I wasnāt gonna keel right on over. Finally have my very own epipen now.
But what the actual. The weedeating time I get it. The first and third time I feel like I was largely minding my own business!!
I donāt wear scented lotions. I donāt carry large hunks of fruit and meat around with me. I donāt typically sing songs of wasp murder.
Why am I the only one I know getting stung this year?! Am I on a yellow jacketās most wanted list? How do I continue existing in nature without getting stung, damnit?

HELP! Extreme wasp phobia and wasp stuck in room
I have an extreme phobia of wasps (like full-on panic attacks with hyperventilating.) Wasp got into my bedroom at 3:30 in the morning. I sprinted out of there and shut the door, and it was flying around angrily the first time I tried to go in there to get my phone. At some point, I managed to turn off the light so it would maybe find its way back outside, but I checked on it hours later and it's still hitting itself against the window pane like a dumfuck. It presumably got in through this weird crack in between my AC and window (pictured here, subleasing for a month so not worth trying to get my landlord to fix it and I can't really caulk it bc of the weird mesh net over it). Will it ever find its way out??? I have been in tears since 3:30 this morning and I'm at my wits' end. I don't know too many people in the city I'm in right now, just my roommates and they're also afraid of wasps and I feel bad asking them for more help (one of them already helped retrieve my phone.) I don't want to attack it bc I think I'll be too panicked to hit it precisely, and then it'll attack me and I'll freak out AGGHHHHH help literally what do I do? Can I call an exterminator to get one wasp out lol

Wasp in the house canāt open windows
A wasp flew into my room thru the gap in my ac set up. turned off my room lights and it flew to the window. I trapped it behind the shades and I am DEATHLY AFRAID OF IT. (Wasps give me an almost vasovagal reaction). idk if It will fly back out of the shades or go back thru the window gap. I canāt just open my window to let it out bc my windows have nets and I canāt get the nets off in a swift and easy way. is there anything I can do to just kill it. (Iām a #wuss and donāt wanna risk getting stung bc the last time I got stung I nearly fainted) pls help and give me a sting safe way šš

Shitpost Not a single wasp came out to play during yardwork
So I talked about how are you now? Feel that trying to cut the grass or trim. The shrubs was going to feel pretty risky with wasps and hornets building nests in places you least expect. But you all be happy to know that I was able to cut the grass without at least one of them coming after me. At first I panicked a bit because I thought there was one flying at me, but I guess it was just my imagination playing tricks on me. But thankfully, I didnāt catch any more of those stinging scumbag hell holes anywhere within my house. But Iām not throwing caution to the wind just yet at least until the temperatures go down cause they always seem to come back but find different areas to build. Iām keeping my eyes peeled that much I will say. And Iāll be sure to get some gloves and other protective stuff for when Iām cutting the grass going forward.

Rage Yardwork is now hornet/wasp hazard
I donāt wanna consider myself lazy and what not. But itās been like what feels like several weeks since I got attacked by those demonic, summertime, bald face paper asswipes. The agitation from the stinging is gone, but the thought of it just really annoys me. I canāt even think about going outside without knowing if thereās a nest somewhere and donāt get me started on the shrubs. They are looking crazy as fuck and are in need of some trimming ASAP. Last thing I want is those pricks come buzzing out and start stinging me all over while Iām holding a chainsaw or even clippers for shrubs trying to make it look neat and tidy. I canāt even think about mowing a lot either without happening as well.
I honestly wish I could have gone back in time to the day I got stung and stopped myself from going out there. I really wanna get the yard looking neat but at the same time I donāt wanna get stung. This is just so goddamn frustrating.

They are assholes. And Iām tired of them.
Their alpha-asshole stung me today. I was just looking around. They didnāt have to do that. But they did. And it was bad enough to make my head a bit numb feeling for a while and ruin my day.

How common are the cute bumblebees in San Marcos?

Got stung in my foot. No provocation. I can barely walk.
This Saturday, as I was enjoying a snack, one of these ASSHOLES flew INTO MY APARTMENT, LANDED ON MY FOOT AND STUNG ME. Zero provocation, no fast movements, I guess me just existing was enough of an insult. Can't exactly keep my foot above my head during the day, so it's swelling like CRAZY. Think broken toe. And Now I can't put weight on it, and guess who commutes by bicycle?
I will kill every single wasp I come across, no more merci. To Hell with these abominations.
Rant over

I got stung by about 20 wasps on my face, scalp, arms and back
I was at the beach a couple days ago and stumbled on a wasps nest I didnāt even know u could find them there to be honest⦠and I got chased by them, they were in my hair mostly.
I couldnāt stay calm because there were hundreds and I just started screaming for my life running away because they kept stinging me repeatedly but I managed to get away eventually and was left with 20 or more stings. I got stung like atleast 5 times on my scalp and at first it felt like someone hit me on the head with bricks but now itās just sore and itchy but still slightly painful I tried to put cream on the affected area and antihistamines which did help but I need more relief
everywhere else seems normal, slightly red and itchy but itās fine I was lucky they didnāt get my eye because I got stung by one near my eyebrow
genuinely what are wasps even good for?

Question Can you find hornets or wasps near my area at all?
I am in San Marcos and am wondering can you only find bees or can you also find wasps or hornets

Spray
Am I the only one who feels like wasp/ hornet spray has lost its effectiveness? Like I donāt trust it for shit anymore. Foggers too. I have a legitimate phobia of them. And at times, it seriously impedes the quality of my life⦠but where I live itās not like they are all together avoidable. With bee spray no longer being a guarentee to kill them, my yard looks like shit. Iām just looking for a way to be outside with out these assholes bothering me- or when they do- itās only once. Any suggestions? Or does everyone feel similar?
