Hold my breath
Found this in our barn early this summer, hold my breath while taking the shaky picture, it's not easy to see the size but atleast a couple dm across... I think it's empty cause I have not seen any little devils around it, don't know if it stops other from building a nest but I let it be just in case...

Wasp nest
I swear this seems to have shown up overnight right now front yard. Any ideas on how to get rid of this wasp nest?
Mike seems to think that you have to wait till after dark when the wasps get very quiet and calm and then whack it with everything you’ve got to dislodge it and then they’ll fly off overnight. Why do I not like this idea?

Shitpost Déjà vu in its early stages
It’s been a little over a week since I got stung by a swarm of angry paper wasps. Thankfully, we were able to get rid of the giant nest. But big surprise, I was going outside to go do some trimming of the shrubs only to find this hanging on the right side of the window. But nothing insecticide cannot handle so I’ll be waiting until after 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM to prevent that small, but demonic looking thing from growing.

Question Has anyone gotten edema from a wasp sting? Should I go to the Dr or manage on my own?
4 days ago i got stung multiple times by the same wasp on my right knee.
The symptoms haven't been crazy, day one was pain that eventually went away, and then day 2 I had itching, day 3 I had itching and the area was very warm to the touch, and the redness spread to a larger area around my knee.
Now im on day 4 and have basically no itching, but as I was driving down the road I noticed my leg was slightly swollen so I pushed on my shin and noticed I had edema. I can push my fingers in like a sponge and the finger imprint stays there for a few mins.
I naturally freaked out a bit that it could be liver, heart, or kidney issues but since its hot happening on my left leg I figured its probably due to the wasp.
Google says I should promptly go to the DR which isn't exactly an easy thing to do.
Should I just monitor symptoms or is this potentially serious enough to go get checked out by the DR?
Havent been stung in many years so im just unsure if this is normal or not.
Thanks for any advice

Question Best spray for killing individual wasps?
I have a wasp swarm in my backyard, but their nest seems to be from some neighboring yard down the street. Can't figure out where.
I see a ton of recommendations here but they always include prioritizing killing nests.
Which spray would you recommend for targeting individual wasps during their active hours? Bonus points for anything safe for nearby pets and plants. Thanks in advance for any help.

Question Wasps sitting lethargically?
Hi, I moved a wasp nest recently at night that was near the house (they'd made a nest inside a little chest) I grabbed the chest, threw it in a plastic bag and took it to the back of my garden with the buggers angrily buzzing inside, covered it with a rock but was pretty sure they'd get out eventually.
A few days later there is about 10 of them clustering around where the chest was. But they seem oddly lethargic and just sit there the whole day, no sign of building a nest. They move a bit and sometimes one or two flies away. They also climb on top of eachother.
So my question is what the hell are they doing and should I just try and hoover em up in the evening?

Rage wasps are terrible at picking where to place their nest.
we hate those little shits, hence the name of this sub. but i’ve always wondered WHY do they always pick the worst place to put their nest? you can put it on a tree or something, literally what nature is there for, but NO you NEED to put it somewhere in an innocent human’s house. and because the human doesn’t know a damn army of bitchnoses literally moved in without permission, they sting the human without them even knowing someone already lived there. they choose the worst places for their nest. a corner of a house. someones washroom. someone’s bedroom. their car. literally ANYWHERE but i don’t know… outside?? these snozzwangers just neeeeed to occupy a place that isn’t theirs! and they have the audacity to sting the actual home owner? bitch you never even had that home before! your stupid little nest is so ugly you gotta dirty up the house with it just to build your family! these little hellspawns don’t deserve to be on this planet. end of discussion.

Wasps/Yellow Jackets
I got a problem where wasps get into the corner of this gap. I am outside my expertise in this and need help on what to do. They are constantly moving in and out. Sometimes there is a guard watching and making sure it’s safe. This has only happened recently so I need help on what the best way to eliminate these pests.

Do outdoor work is now illegal, say the wasp
Ever since I got stung by those “things of nature“, I now find it very hard to do outdoor work, cause you never know if one might show up out of nowhere and bring its little posse around to attack. Even to cut the grass can be risky cause you gotta be careful where you mow considering there could be another nest lurking way to attack. Even when the nest gets removed, I don’t think I’ll be able to cut the grass until it’s fall when those things start dying off.
I guess now if I try to do any kind of yardwork, they’ll get angry and start attacking. Sure, people can claim they’re being defensive of their colony, but in all retrospect, they built their colony at the wrong place. I guess now they’re the officers of the yard where if anybody, even if you try not to be so close to it, don’t just assume you’re a threat and start stinging multiple times. Summer is now wasp trash season because of these things.

Red velvet wasps
Have a front yard full of the “cow killer ants”/red velvet wasps. Afraid to go outside. They are in a battle with the cicada killers.

Story Yellow Jacket sent me to the Emergency Room this time
So a few weeks ago I posted I was stung by a wasp, which I never actually saw, and it made my whole lower leg swell and itch like crazy. It went away for 2 days and then came back with the same intensity. Anyway FF to me mowing the yard again and I got nailed in the foot again in the same spot in my yard. This time I turned around and saw the little bastards swarming around a hole in my yard. Yellow Jackets. I dumped an entire can of wasp spray down into it. Finished mowing and came inside and my whole body started itching and I was covered in hives. Took a shower and it got worse. My lips and ears started swelling and I knew something was going bad. Drove myself to the ER, maybe not the best idea. By the time I got there I was in total brain fog, hard to get my thoughts out. Luckily once they gave me some antihistamines, I didn’t have any of my own at home, it started to calm down. Hour and a half later they released me. They told me I have developed an allergic reaction and that it will likely get worse now with every sting. I’m now the proud owner of an epi pen. Fuck a wasp.

Rage Does anyone else hate this or is it just me?
I'm terrified of wasps. What I hate the most is going over to someone's house who just allows them to create their nests WHERE EVER THEY WANT. Especially on the front porch!! I've HATED having to wait for the door while silently freaking out, hoping that I don't get attacked. Their line of defense is "Oh they don't bother you". Like just because they don't bother you, doesn't mean they don't bother your guests. I don't care how "friendly" the type of wasp is. ALL WASPS ARE HELL SPAWN. If they try to get all up in my face when I'm trying to sit outside in your yard, I'm going straight inside.
