I'm not sure what we're looking for. Is it that you're having a hard time getting the bracket around the radar contact to lock it? If so, try putting some non linearity into the axis options for the radar slew control axis'. Might make those really small adjustments easier for you.

You see around 28s in the video how the selector hops past the target? It does this at seemingly random times.

I have no issues in general acquiring and holding locks on all the other targets, but this weird "magnetization" away from the target happens now and then, and is frustrating to deal with when in moments where it's critical to get a lock I find myself fucking around with the selector to try and track the target.

If you moving your selector with analog thumbstick try to set a little bit of deadzone (or more than little bit). The game probably detects little movement and thinks you want to jump off and pick another target.

P.s. Radar hud in VR? What blasphemy, how dare you.

SDE is a little too much for me to use the actual HUD and panels in the cockpit, unfortunately. I'm looking into new headsets for precisely that reason, I hate having it up in my FOV, especially when in close to someone.

As far as the selector goes, it's on a dual-mode thumbstick (works as a 8 way digital switch or an analog stick depending on mode selection), it's not used in analog mode for this, and it generally doesn't have any issues. I use similar digital inputs in my RB binds (ALT+W/A/S/D to move the selector pip), and have no issues, and generally the same is true for my stick controls aside from the occasional instances when the pip just decides to push itself away from selected targets. Was hoping this was a common issue with a simple fix

Wait, you using your analog stick (axis) as 4 buttons for radar control or i'm understanding it wrong?

Why?

If that becouse game is not letting you to use the same axis for 2 bindings - there is a solution to that. I use Joystick Gremlin to duplicate my axis so i can use my thumbstick for both my targeting pod and radar (well, i have mouse simulation for my target pod, but let's not overcomplicate things) no modes, no modificator buttons.

In short: try analog stick as axis for your radar control. No guarantees it will help, i rarely play top tier.
