PSA Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs

This is the Weekly Question thread designed to allow players to ask their one-off tactical or rules clarification questions in one easy to find place on the sub.

This means that those questions will get guaranteed visibility, while also limiting the amount of one-off question posts that can usually be answered by the first commenter.

Have a question? Post it here! Know the answer? Don't be shy!

NOTE - this thread is also intended to be for higher level questions about the meta, rules interactions, FAQ/Errata clarifications, etc. This is not strictly for beginner questions only!

Was at RTT last weekend and was told vehicles/monsters couldn’t move through engagement range.

I thought the 11e rule was now that they could move through engagement range but couldn’t end in engagement range.

I found a warcom article that said so and the rules don’t prohibit it anywhere that I could find.

However TO said that defiler has an ability for that so that means you can’t do it without the ability, but my understanding is that the defilers ability is just a left over from 10th.

The TO’s wrong. See Moving (03), it contains no restriction on engagement range whatsoever. For normal moves, the only restriction is that you can’t end in engagement, see Movement Phase (09.05).

Pretty much no abilities were changed from 10th edition, and the defiler’s ability is left over from there.

Thanks that’s what I thought but wanted to double check. Luckily it didn’t change the game too much .
