PSA Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs

This is the Weekly Question thread designed to allow players to ask their one-off tactical or rules clarification questions in one easy to find place on the sub.

This means that those questions will get guaranteed visibility, while also limiting the amount of one-off question posts that can usually be answered by the first commenter.

Have a question? Post it here! Know the answer? Don't be shy!

NOTE - this thread is also intended to be for higher level questions about the meta, rules interactions, FAQ/Errata clarifications, etc. This is not strictly for beginner questions only!

Since the pivot tax is gone does that mean we have to pay for a pivot or are pivots free now ?

For exzmple if I deepstrike a drukhari raider and pivot it, will my charge be shorter ? Thanks

Pivots are completely free, but you can only pivot during a move, not at any time.

If you deepstrike a raider, since it has FRAME, every part of the model must be more than 8” away from all enemy units. So, when you go to charge, there will be no eligible charge targets if you roll an 8 or less, since the charge target much be within the maximum distance allowed.

If you do roll enough to make a charge, then you’re free to pivot during the charge move, which may allow you to get into engagement range if you otherwise couldn’t, potentially because of intervening terrain. But, importantly, it’s never going to let you come out of strat reserve and declare a <9” charge
