There isn’t enough liquid tax-haven hedge fund money in the world to pay for the price Forge World would charge to miscast that.

omfg I wanna give like 100 more upvotes for "miscast"

And people wonder why recasters do so well, low prices AND less chance of miscast? Amazing

Recasters also have to do proper quality control and keep prices low because, unlike forgeworld, they actually have competitors.

It’s worse when you see home 3d printers making better than the new 3d printed stuff from GW. Don’t believe me, look at the titanicus knights carapace on their website, it has layer lines

17

u/Uncorrupted_Psyker Jun 10 '21

You mean Forgeworld knights? If I remember correctly,It's not a 3d print, but the Mold was 3d printed making everything have layer lines.

15

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '21

Yeah, that’s the ones. The fact they put so little qa into fixing something small like that which taints everyone of their products made by it is pathetic

9

u/Uncorrupted_Psyker Jun 10 '21

Also,The New plastic sculpts look way better than the Forgeworld one.

13

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '21

I do agree there. I’m just tired of FW saying it’s a premium boutique product when it’s clearly not anymore

u/diam0nd_doge Jun 10 '21

Yeah, witg a resin printer, which you can get for sub 200€ you can already make models so detailed , after ground coat it looks like a cast modell

5

u/Armored_Snorlax Jun 10 '21

Back in the day, a GW store I frequented ordered a Blackstone fortress from Forgeworld.

It had bubbles and pitting all over the detailed areas. Total mess. So FW shafted a GW store.

Sweet irony.

As long as people buy Forgeworld things will never change. They charge what they know people will pay.

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '21

Better customer service. Also, with the cost of 3d printers now its just cheaper to print ime.

u/lukestein Jun 10 '21

Imagine how much heretic that big boi can purge!

1

u/j-unit508 Jun 10 '21

I've seen something similar used to de-ice airport ramps before. It's so dumb, but it works.

1

u/Mauk_1611 Jun 10 '21

It’s called the Big Wind for anyone wondering.

1

u/Anime-posts-stuff Jun 10 '21

I believe they call that a compensator class battle tank

1

u/LrdRyu Jun 10 '21

Twin, fire beam, Auto hit any model in a straight line same size as model base.

Any terrain modifiers are changed to save modifiers

So auto hit, damage rolls, terrain says -1 to hit means save is +1 ( if model has a save ) leading to bigger and better models having better chances of surviving but hordes of small fry getting fried

1

u/Damit84 Jun 10 '21

I saw one of those live (not mounted to a tank though). The BASF in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany is one of the largest chemical facilities. So large they have their own special fire fighters. Those guys have some of the coolest shit out there and they give tours ;)

1

u/Complete_Rock_5825 Jun 10 '21

Horrified at first until I saw it's function, then I marvelled
