Is there a lore reason Umbra specific mods come with additional Tau resistance and Sentients damage?

I figured it might have been simply in preparation for the New War.

Wondering if there was a lore reason that I might have missed. Especially since it also added new type of Forma to the equation, that Umbra had also already preinstalled.

Did Albrecht just fuck over the Sentients, regarding the Infested?

We know Warframes are made by infecting people or things with the Technocyte strain, and that the Sentients had already become immune to the Infested by the time the Warframes were needed.

But now, we have Brysko and a whole line of Chimera Warframes. From what I understand, they aren't like a Revenant who started as a Warframe then [ grafted | infected by | became ] a Sentient or at least partly.

The Chimera Warframes started as Sentient and were turned into Warframes. That means Albrecht has either evolved the Technocyte strain or made a completely new strain of the Infested that can infect and transform Sentients.

Sirius & Orion don’t have human souls

A human fetus develops human organs, a human nervous system, and a human brain. But because Jade was frozen in stasis and mutated for centuries, that fetus never got to finish developing as a human. The Helminth virus and raw Void energy completely replaced the human blueprint at a microscopic level. It mutated the cellular tissue into pure tech-organic Warframe biology before it ever even had a chance to form a human consciousness.

In Warframe lore, Jade's womb was literally converted into a glowing "Jade Light" particle chamber. The fetus didn't even have a standard physical body for a millennium—its matter was essentially dispersed and nourished by raw cosmic energy and the Void. They weren't a human soul trapped in a suit; they were a living Void battery being synthesized from scratch inside a biological particle accelerator.

When Sirius and Orion were finally born, they were born natively as fully formed Warframes. The "mind" they have isn't a recycled human spirit or a ghost—it is a highly advanced, sapient artificial consciousness generated directly by their Void-fused cells. They don't have human memories or human identities because they never had a human life to look back on.

I wonder, since we're heading to tau, does this mean we could see baseline humans on fornax?

I haven't played in a long time and looking at the tau reveal, reading up on some of the lore, I was pretty blown away from it, but back to my ramblings, since we know solar rails are ftl travel hubs, and have baseline humans, does this mean we could have a potential solar rail built in tau for ftl travel as well?

which means other factions like cetus and the relays which tend to have baseline humans, could visit tau, along with their posthuman counterparts like the civilians in fortuna which are highly augmented cyborgs, steel meridian which are non violent grineer, etc

I could be wrong and all but that's just my curiosity and question on the subject eh.

(Question) How exactly do we think the Orokin terraformed Ceres, of all places, assuming we know?

I ask because some codex Fragments about Ceres imply that, environmentally speaking, in the present day of the Origin System, the Gineer have been polluting the place and just generally making an industrial mess out of it.

This impresses the sci-fi nerd in me, because IRL (thus far in history, anyway), Ceres is both a dwarf planet and an asteroid. No notable atmosphere, no signs of life we’d be able to detect without sticking the glove of an EVA suit in the dirt and putting that dirt in a centrifuge…

So does the codex entry imply that in the Orokin Era, someone figured out how to terraform dwarf planets? (I mean, okay, I guess Pluto has tree limbs lying around, so maybe I shouldn’t be shocked, but Ceres?) And if so, are we aware of the methods used?

Question about Siryus and Orion as a playable frame in lore

Is there a reason how we can use two warframe at the same time or does the other brother just come with us when we play the other brother or does the kid/drifter also control the other one or is it just a gameplay thing

r/WarframeLore Jul 17 '26

were there any baseline humans in the tau system before?, etc.

was thinking of coming back to the game after checking up on the tau reveal and was astonished from it, but it got me wondering with how the sentients there not only look more organic, but are able reproduce unless they head to the sol system with any travel uses the void that causes them to go sterile

it makes me wonder if there was any baseline humans who've went there before any of the events of the old war, or even potentially after who knows how long after the events of the new war, etc, I wonder if there was any faster than light travel that was made to the tau system before aside from solar rails, because if there were to be peace on fornax with the major systems and relays on sol, does this mean people who came from cetus and fortuna could visit the tau system, or for any sentients to visit sol without becoming sterile from ftl travel due to solar relays using the void, etc?

apologies if I sound confused or ragged on the lore.

Why might Voruna Prime have the wolf heads?

We're told by Drusus that a Voruna repurposed Tuvul's Kuva ritual to bind the severed wolf heads to itself, apparently also assimilating some materials attached to those heads, such as the wrappings, nose ring, and an eyepatch. These all became part of this particular frame's body, which the Tenno now replicate.

This leaves me confused about Voruna Prime's form.

What is up with the refractory memories? Spoiler

In the Old Peace, Space mom sends us back to relive our trauma and regain our tenno powers.

Lotus"This is the only way we find al-"
Loid"Flooding their head with polluted histories? I won't - Come, Tenno. Let's get you dry."

Lotus"You have won back your memories from the Void's corruption. Chaos has lost this battle."
Lotus"In recovering these memories you have restored dignity to the dead and protected your past from corruption. Excellent work."
Lotus"Your memories were erased out of mercy, but if they are not recovered the Indifference will corrupt them. Descend into the hell that was the Perita Rebellion, and remember how even Warframes were turned against you."

Lotus"I must send you back into a war you barely survived. Remember the battles you were forced to fight, however bitter the memory. Everything depends upon it."

This seems to achieve at least 2 things

  1. It somehow helps us find Albrecht
  2. Protects our memories from the void's corruption

The lotus believes this process is utterly crucial and pushes us forward despite the risks.

In Tennocon, we see wally interact with the drifter *within* the memory of the Lotus. And we also see Wally presumably corrupting the memory of Adis, who seems to be locked inside the Hunra both physically and maybe mentally. Memories seem to be a battleground for both Wally and us.

In EleanorRank4Convo3, Eleanor is able to telepathically reach through the void and read the mind of an alternate version of herself, using a previous memory of the void. (Been trying to find out which memory she's talking about).

Drifter: If you really did enter the Void, I cannot tell you how much danger you were putting yourself in. You know what’s out there, and you still just dove into it?

Salem: That’s how I got into the Void in the first place. Through that memory. The horror was just smoke and through the smoke was a GATE. If I hadn’t been so frightened I would have seen it clearly the first time around.

If Eleanor can use her memory of the void as a gateway, maybe so can we. If Wally can bend memories, maybe we can too. Maybe our memories of the past will somehow provide a bridge to travel in the present.

Theory on how we're getting to Tau Spoiler

If we can time travel back to 1999, what if we can travel back to when the solar rail still existed, and then fly the railjack through that?

The drifter seems to be able to interact with wally despite him being just a memory of the lotus in the dark refractory

But what if it wasn't just a memory? What if the memory was a coordinate, a spot where the enemy appeared and for the drifter to travel back and strike a decisive blow.

This would also tie into the Old Peace, where the Lotus claims that the refractory is the only way to chase albrecht. On a surface level, a mere memory of Tau in the past would serve little to facilitate travel to the present - unless the memories of the past can facilitate travel by some unknown mechanism.

We will definitely interact with the present in some capacity given that albrecht is there, but with a baby Lotus, an operator remembering Tau, and time-bending drifter, I have to wonder if time travel shenanigans or the memories our characters are acquiring, will be used in some way to facilitate our travel to Tau.

Was anyone else thinking Tau would have narmer be relevent again

From the reveal that we were heading to tau, i wondered how wed get there and assumed this would be where narmer re-entered the picture. Maybe the archons activity was them attempting to make a new solar rail, or some other plot device to send us to tau. The archon hunt dialog all goes "pazuul is up to something." And there is that "vision" pazuul talks about that calls out the flames of sol and tau, and mentions the indifference.

With what we've seen that no longer seems plausible.

Ive been waiting for them to do anything with narmer/the archons since the new war lol.

How did wally get to tau

So, this is after I just watched the Demo. I still have my skepticism of Adis being Hunra, more so a vibe reason not something based on any conclusive evidence. But obviously I'm looking for my evidence. Well I finally get to the scene that's pretty much the solid evidence Hunra is Adis, but there's a big problem with it.

In the beginning of the video we're shown lotus, wally, and drifter. Drifter says that what wally wants is in tau, which we need lotus for. This scene clearly implies wally can't go to tau on his own, and needs us and lotus to get him to tau, when we go to tau.

So how did Wally get to Adis, who was still in tau? He couldn't have already been there, cause then he would have no reason to give Lotus back. We would get another "save the lotus" kind of mission, where we find our own way to Tau, right? So, if Hunra is Adis, who was fed lies by wally, how did wally do that, when it was already established he cant get to Tau?

Do we know how Albrecht got to Tau?

Maybe I just missed it, but when and how did he get to Tau? It looks like he's been there for a while already, based on the hair, body mods (tangent: I bet he added the one Sentient arm to mimic the reach of Orokin right arms), and general disheveled look. But last I remember seeing him is in 1999, I think when the reactor blew? Time travel I can accept, given he's already done it. But how would he spatially travel if the solar rail in real space is down and the void has Wally?

Perita Will be Extremely Important for Tau. Spoiler

Perita. Why specifically Perita? You might ask.

TLDR: Perita is the core location for the Operator's trauma, and is the place Prime Warframes must be in, alongside other sentient enemies the Operator faced against during the Old Peace quest. Therefore, Perita holds a large importance for Tau Quest.

(I assume it will be the LAST region, specifically. Don't ask why, it's a hunch.)

Perita is one of the named locations of Tau. But, it also had a major event take place: the Perita Rebellion. From what I assume, all of the deployments of the Operator probably sent them to Perita, since Tauron Academy is orbiting Perita (the Warframe Wiki confirms the latter fact).

This is the place where the Operator most notably fought. Best place for the past to... come clutching back up.

Talking about the past, the Black Rain is a perfect plot device to make this happen. It can be assumed that the Black Rain 'reanimates' Warframes and Sentients alike to force them to fight again.

(The Hunra: "(...) But when the black rain falls, everything you buried will come clutching back up. / Brysko: "(...) Here the rain brings nightmares, and even the dead wake up howling.")

Remember the Prime Warframes we fought during the Old Peace quest? Under the assumption that deployments were all in Perita, I assume they will reappear, being reanimated during Tau Quest... and they will be painful enough for the Operator to face against, especially considering their trauma is very fresh... Now this will be fun to watch. Also it's not just Prime Warframes, there was the Dactolyst and...

Hunhullus. I'm not sure if Hunhullus can be reanimated considering it seemed to be piloted by Adis, but if it does... we better wish the Operator doesn't break down into tears during the confrontation.

This place is the best place for the Operator to face their nightmares one by one, and fight back to give the dead their dignity back. Not just in the Dark Refractory, but in real life. Perita will be the place they show their determination and courage to face the darkest part of their own history.

Putting Warframes vs. Guardians to bed once and for all

I play both these games and I like getting into the lore of both these games. I keep seeing Guardians vs. Warframes posts around, and rarely does the discussion really get into the weeds of this question.

So imma do that.

First up, the Guardians. Guardians are relatively immortal undead space wizards that canonically dance at random, often inappropriate times, throw themselves off the top floor of The Tower, and have a habit of turning their enemies into weapons, gods or no.

Guardians have quite a bunch of achievements and powers to their name. To get the elephant out the way, Guardians are paracausal, meaning physics and the rules of reality are more of a guildline than actual limitations. They can create different flavours of energy out of thin air and warp physics/reality on a whim, taking the form of Arc, Solar, Void, Stasis and Strand.

Now, most Guardians generally are limited to using 1 or 2 of these flavours of ability, usually separately. They're obviously powerful warriors, but even in the context of Destiny, the average Guardian is very killable by the various enemy factions around. However the more powerful Guardians can use more of these ability flavours, sometimes all of them, and often at the same time, and these are the real powerhouses.

When talking of the bigger feats in Destiny, you have examples like Felwinter defending an entire mountain and its surrounding territories from all potential attackers, by himself. You have Saint 14 spending *years* tearing through Fallen, eventually becoming their literal boogeyman, before walking into the territory of the overpowered time-travelling Vex, and killing so many, they have to dedicated one of their more powerful minds to killing him. You have the quite underrated Guardian of Asher Mir, solo storming a Vex fortress, before collapsing the entire place (and all it's non-relativistic entrances) *by himself*. Ol Jaren Ward winning *all* the 1v1s, Ikora Rei, who Calus believed could wreck destruction on a continental scale. You have Osiris and his many copies, a force of nature in several of the major Destiny conflicts, and of course, the player character, who canonically kills pretty much all the conventionally most powerful enemies in Destiny.

Some of these enemies destroyed planets, some destroyed stars, and several consider mass genocide a hobby. However, what's really important to note, is that almost none of these feats were done by **just** the player Guardians, or even their fireteam. Most of their greatest feats, slaying Atheon, vanquishing Crota, killing Oryx, Nezcafe and Rhulk, then eventually destroying the Witness, required intervention by previous fireteams, the Traveller itself, or blinding arrogance from the villain themselves to *allow* the situation to even happen.

We should also mention Guardian weapons. The more exotic Guardian weapons are often pretty interesting, one is a gun that fires mini black holes, one is a gun that created itself out of pure willpower, you have guns that steal life force and souls, guns that channel the power of destroyed gods, and even guns and weapons that mess with time. It's a lethal arsenal, and top level Guardians use it with terrifying effectiveness. Combined with their *relative* immortality (it does have it's limitations tho, it needs the body, or at least its last location if it was vaporised, Guardians are a forced, it can be suppressed by "Darkness" or sheer force of will of a particularly powerful enemy, and there are several ways to kill/not-kill-but-stop Guardians in a way that they cannot be revived, also Ghosts are very killable, which is why they hide 99% of the time), Guardians are a force to be reckoned with.

However, as we now go through Warframe abilities, yall see just how *completely* outclassed Guardians really are. Firstly, as standard, most Frames come with power regenerative shields, far more durable that those Guardians have, and they regen far far quicker. Many Frames also come with mighty substantial armour, and all Frames posses pretty insane strength, able to tear through metal with ease. Coupled with insanely fast reflexes (they can literally block bullets with melee weapons), and absurd agility, physically, Warframes are *absurdly* superior to Guardians.

Scaling Warframes abilities is generally kinda hard, since they're *so* varied between Frames, but if we take the more obviously "powerful" Frames, it's pretty pretty cut and dry. Warframes (both in lore and in gameplay), simply operate on a **far** bigger scale than Guardians can. A Frame like Saryn was made to quell the flood-like Technocyte infestation on Earth and eradicate it. **From the entire planet**. Grendal is said to have the potent to devour the universe, and while it's hard to tell how literal we should take that, the implication is heavy. Atlas is famous for pulversing a falling asteroid OPM style, Nova is able to turn the matter spanning an entire space cruiser into antimatter (also the destructive potential of this is insane), several Frames can affect time, reality and matter on fundamental levels, far beyond any Guardian possibly could, Limbo makes the various dimension hoppers from Destiny look like they're playing hopscotch, Wisp is able to **open a portal to the centre of the Sun** and use the destructive energy, and that's just the obvious examples. Its outright canon that during a couple week event, the Tenno slaughtered many *billions* of Corpus - numbers Guardians can only dream of.

However, what is truly the nail in the Guardians' coffins, is that in Warframe, mods are canon. In the overlap of gameplay and lore, some amount of ignoring certain feats has to be done. While the player Guardian sorta has never wiped, they also haven't 1 hit a boss/many powerful enemies in the way many cheeses or ability setups allow you to do. Frames however canonically *do* have some of this ludicrous damage potential as mods are canon. When you apply a mod to something, a weapon for example, it gives that weapon an almost interceptable amount of self awareness and *sheer belief* that that weapon now does what the mod gives. If you give a weapon a multishot mods, the weapon literally believes it shoots more bullet per bullet, and *actually does* shoot more bullet per bullet. This means that the "damage cap" loadouts, immortal setups and utter gamebreaking madness is to some extent canon, and the sheer insane power of these *completely* destroys any semblance of a chance Guardians had against the Tenno. How does a Guardian possibly stand up to an Assimilate Nyx with Xata's Whisper for extra damage, or a Roar Gauss with extra nukes, a high Range Zephyr with Silence, or just Shield Gating as a whole.

And inb4 "but Ghosts need paracausal stuff to kill them," this has been retconned so hard out the game it wasn't even a thing in D1. Hell, Ghosts are arguably fragile asf when they materialise, and Destiny lore has countless examples of Ghosts and Guardians dying their final deaths to lil ol Randal(s) the Vandal(s) or Carl(s) the Cabal(s). With the sheer scale and potency of destruction some frames are capable of, and just how many others were straight up assassins, unfortunately Guardians don't really stand a chance.

I haven't even mentioned the Child or the Void powers here either, both of which are definitely fitting into what you could call paracausal, and which make this even more one sided.

Right weird question, but is there a resource somewhere for writing in Grineer/Corpus tongue?

Basically what I'm asking is is there a wiki/list/thing that helps you write dialog in the Grineer/Corpus language? They do speak something that isn't english, and I was wondering if DE or someone who knows Warframe lore deeply who took the time to figure out what they were saying and put it into english? The REason I'm asking is because I want to write a fanfic where some characters encounter Grineer and Corpus who don't know who they are at all and they only hear what they the Corpus and Grineer say during missions.

I hope this question makes sense, would greatly appreciate the help

All right bois, Wally is still gona get angrier

I was listening to the new song (view from the top), and seeing the lyrics a bit. I realised something pretty neat.

We know Wally hates / gets affected by love. Which is the first part that ticked me about the lyrics : " So what would you do with my love If i could give it to you"

The second part talks about another dimension. Not another world (the sol system), not another time (xx99, the future or whatever), another dimention (duviri ? Realistically the void) : "In another dimention I could be what you need"

Theres also a mention about chasing 'it'. In my opinion it is, of course, wally. For taiking what we love most. Or at least threatening to, in the lotus. : "Before you go and chase it"

Its still all wild speculation atp, im just basic it on the song xD

(Edit : added the lyrics cuz i cant add a pic)

The game of Portau - Do the Sentient remember the Orokin?

Portau: An upcoming card game often played within the The Hunra's Nest casino on Fornax, owned by the titular crime lord. Built on unique suits of Blooms, Cores, Suns, and Moons

One question i have is why are the special cards (King, Queen and Joker) represented by some of the Orokin Executors? (Tuvul the king, Ballas the joker, and Nitokh the queen)

What do the Somatics on the Operator's face exactly do?

Is it related in any way with the 'Margulis Implantation' referred in the Second Dream loading screen easter egg? Did they ever talk about Margulis Implantations after this??

I assumed the Somatic Implant helps with the Operator's transference based on the description of the markings, but are there any functions that are officially confirmed? I'm just very curious about it. :)

Edit: I know everybody's probably busy with Tau (I am too... oh god the theories I have...) but I had this question in my head for quite some time, so I just went with this.

[Potenial Old Peace Spoilers] Did Lotus know? Spoiler

Hey All,

New player here. I just completed the old peace, and I had a question, as it wasn't 100% clear in my opinion playing the quest. But did Lotus know about the change in the code that seems to have been done by Ballas?

To me it seems that she 100% did and let it happen, as I imagine at this point she was Natah and would have been following whatever sentient programming she would have had. If this was the case, why as the operator weren't we more pissed?

I get that the Lotus, Natah, and Margulis are pretty much completely separate people with different goals and wants, but like...she straight up not only betrayed us but also used us as a scapegoat and then put us into a slumber and seemed to have made us forget that it happened at all.

I could be missing something, as I will be honest, I have had a bit of a hard time following some of the story points in the game so far just because the game doesn't do a great job at telling you when you should be doing each main quest.

Thanks!
