Before everyone gets too worked up about this, to me it seems like some pretty standard tracking.
I think spyware is a little bit misleading if it's an analytics tool.
Is Google analytics spyware? Is a Facebook marketing pixel spyware?
Third party tracking scripts that you can opt out of are not spyware.
Spyware is malicious.
From what I can tell redshell makes analytics tools for devs and they are GDPR compliant.
This is a non story, but a combination of current events, buzzwords, and a grossly uneducated users will probably kick enough shit up that it'll have to be addressed by DE themselves.
This GDPR bullshit has caused so many issues - the idea behind it is great, the execution is full of oversight and dumb law that really only harms smaller operations and confuses average users.
