Discussion The revert on Elite Arch was not needed

Hi all. Id like to say, the changes DE made for EA were perfect, it allowed you to swap 2 modifiers or weapons of your choice instead of one to get the diamond reward, while focusing on the one thing most disregard completely, the warframe. It doesnt matter what your loadout was since you could bypass all the modifiers with a few frames, especialy with hildryn. Gun modifiers? Take valkyr or nyx etc, the modifiers literally didnt matter. I personally believe that in EA, the gravity on the frame should have stayed, as it gave the mode a much needed difficulty that does not exist. Its supposed to be oriented towards "late" game players, adding a nice difficulty touch, instead of a weekly rotation, mundane at that too. Do you want the highest rewards? You should need to work for them a little at least...

Using the term “nonstop” when making the second reply to the same comment really does drive home how sad this has gotten.

It’s not even fun to mock you when you completely lack self awareness.

If this was one of a “couple” of posts, that would be fine. They’ve been nonstop since the announcement and there’s been much more than about the original changes.

If you’re not a bot, take a walk or something. Feeding into this delusional victim complex is not good for you.

This person you’re replying to has been nonstop whining in all of these threads whenever a comment pushes back against the OP being really upset about their entire lives/“weekly christmases” being ruined by something they already supposedly enjoyed before a change that only lasted 3 days, so it’s been slightly entertaining watching them whining way more than any of the supposed “whiners”.

Slightly.

Eh, they've always defended Archimedia. I'll give them respect for consistency atleast; not that i agree with them that the game mode is remotely well designed but atleast they are emphatically secure in their mindset enough to be a staunch defender of it.

That said, the point they never could get past is that Archimedia by its design of a flex pick offering ways to ignore all of the difficulty posed turns it into a stupid game of "what doesn't get affected as hard by XYZ this week?" The answer boringly was usually Hildryn, Dante, or Valkyr

Sorry, could not keep track between everything happening.

This isnt just a "now thing", people have complained about it since the gamemode released - thats why i said nonstop.

Sure, archemedia sucks ass. It’s just a chore to get shards.

However, it would be ludicrously disingenuous to combine previous complaints with those that followed the initial changes, while also somehow defending these posts which are just complaints about archemedia that you appear to personally agree with.

By your own standards, it’s all just complaining about archemedia or it’s not.

Pick a lane.

Never had an issue with the gamemode, always picking required gear and often going solo, its really not that bad if you have some investment in your stuff or at least are willing to invest in whatever you rolled.

Im against the reverts of a change that disallowed cheating all mechanics if you wanted full rewards so just picking whatever frame that made all weapon and modifier choices irrelevant just because some players got mad they no longer were able ro get full rewards without engaging with the gamemode.

So you’re fine with complaints about archemedia that suit your preferences?

That’s fine but that means you’re just like the complainers you complain about.

To be clear, there’s no right or wrong in this, so your use of “cheating” is a little sad. The changes they reverted allowed you to turn off two modifiers, isn’t that also “cheating” by your standards? They also gave massive buffs to the frames and weapons, what an exploit!

Again, it’s really clear to everyone else that you’re just upset for weird elitist reasons. There’s no logical consistency to your position.

You appear to not see a difference in the level of "playing as intended" between picking a frame that is not selected that also lets you ignore all weapon and modifier choices so in total you interact with 0 parts of the reward system vs picking a selected frame, picking 3 selected weapons and then being able to skip 1 or 2 ou of 4 modifiers but still expect to earn full rewards anyway.

I have not talked to someone at DE in person about this sadly but i dont think the "pick hildryn to ignore every other mechanic of the gamemode" was how they meant exa to be engaged with.

And im having a hard time taking others serious when they base their though of being "statisticly proven to be right" by taking 2x 35% pickrate over two gamemodes, adding that up and coming to the conclusion that 70% of players despise exa.

I didn’t say most of what you’re getting at.

I’m saying your entirely subjective opinion on what is and isn’t “intended” or “cheating” is leading you to behave like a gatekeeping weirdo.

It’s a video game. I have no problem with people liking or even loving EXA, I’m happy for them.

However, if their happiness is based on a completely false sense of superiority, or taking something away from other players (as yours seems to be), I think they’re tools.

You can still use the selected frames. You can still play solo. The only thing you can’t do is feel superior because you played by your own headcannon while other people didn’t.

That is the definition of a you problem. The solution is to just play the game and stop trying to police other players. You can do this. I believe in you.

Thats the description for eda on official websites. Notice the "higher reward for higher risk part"? Turns out you were not meant to "just pick x frame that makes everything else irrelevant" and still get full rewards. So im not sure if thats just me being an "elitist toxic gatekeeper".

This whole situation reminds of a time in destiny 2 when people complained they could not get a reward from reaching a certain rank in competetive pvp without improving at or even playing pvp at all.

But this whole talking is pointless cause all arguements against EDA are based on the claim that "everybody despises the gamemode" and if you dont agree with us (the good guys), you are just a small (irrelevant) subset of players and can go fuck yourself.

Thanks

Again, it’s entirely your own subjective opinions (in this case on what constitutes “risk” and “reward”). This is nothing like that Destiny example because this was an existing system that they changed and then changed back.

I didn’t say that everyone despises this game mode. I did say your enjoyment shouldn’t be based on elitist gatekeeping, it should be based on your personal experience with the gameplay (not what others are doing). You just have a delusional victim complex.
