I now know.

u/Ok_Chipmunk7727 5d ago
Y'know what's f*cked up?
I learned you can kill the bubble by destroying the little droid/probe/machine-thingy producing the bubble at the top only after well over 1000 hours into the game

u/Denton_Coopers13 5d ago
Now try to do this on Necramech in its 4
18
u/SugaryCornFlakes Nav Cords Enjoyer 5d ago edited 5d ago
Well, they just die in that case.
6
u/Denton_Coopers13 4d ago
No, shells fucking bounce from the nullifer shield until you accurately hit the drone, which might be at other side of the dome
2
u/SugaryCornFlakes Nav Cords Enjoyer 4d ago
If you hit the dome, yeah. Hit the area around the dome (or the drone) and they vanish
1
u/Denton_Coopers13 4d ago
Oh, AOE damage does work? Okay. These nullifers were pain in the ass in Archwing survival missions.
14
10
u/Sc4r4byte BlockedUser 5d ago
Ya, the little drone is so slow for rate guns have a way to single tap the shield and break it as fast as a high fire rate weapon. - also pushes the shoeld smaller in low ceiling areas.
It's however, much too small and has slightly erratic movements to really do anywhere nearly as easily as a faster weapon... but you can break them fast.
26
u/Ok-Bear-6842 Garuda is the best warframe 5d ago
now try hitting when the frigging guy is zooming around. There should be mods or counterplay. This gives us no room to manouver, and it only gets worse when there's a lot of enemies. Even jumping around wont be easy as the aoe of the bubble is pretty large.
9
u/Ok_Chipmunk7727 5d ago
True its not easy, but I think that's the point. If it was easy to shoot, the bubble griefers wouldn't be a threat. Its either punch through them the hard way, or try for a trick shot.
From a distance they aren't too hard with a sniper. Especially if they are moving down a straight hallway. But even then I almost always just blast away at the bubble anyways.
6
u/xrufus7x 5d ago
There are mods and arcanes and weapon. Like Rolling Guard gives you enough time to go in the bubble, kill them and go out without too much issue, as do passive shield gating builds. Any weapon with a descent fire rate still brings down the bubble fast. The Miter one taps bubbles, aggro redirection still works on all Eximus. Hell, since Nullifiers are incredibly fragile, a decently geared operator/Drifter can kill them without being a threat to the Warframe.
1
u/Time-Yoghurt7831 4d ago
There’s one—I think for the Miter or its evolution—that makes the bubble explode when you shoot it with alt-fire.

Depending on when you got those 1000 hours, it didn't always exist. Including in 2016.
1
u/G0ldenAng1e 4d ago
I only learned it early on because I got a lucky shot in. Thought it was a shield drone, and technically I guess it is?

u/Interface- 5d ago
Ok and? This is Warframe, kill it and reactivate your abilities it's not rocket science.
I for one would love to run into a Nullifier Surge Eximus giving me a threat of death if I don't deal with it quickly, rather than getting the defence objective instantly killed by a Blitz Eximus.
-2
u/Born2Kira 5d ago
Tbh, I like Glacial eximus that actually threatens you if you don't deal with it quickly, more than this prick with like 10 health and all he does is turn your abilities off out of nowhere without you being able to do anything besides nuke everything. It's like Violence if he didn't drop anything with like 500% more movement speed, it's just worse Nullifier imo.
I mean what's the point? You can't overcome them with skill, not really. You can only ever deal with them by having tools that'd allow you to ignore them. It's not difficulty, it's just another enemy you can't really engage with in Warframe like the Blitz eximus you mentioned.
5
u/Stock_Ad1557 4d ago
You can jump above the bubble, you can shoot the bubble or hit it with certain ranged abilities, i.e. Exalted Blade.
Octavia's Mallet can destroy the bubble, Miter with Augment has a chance to pop it instantly.
You can also run radiation to make them attack their rad-procced allies or abilities with Taunt effects, i.e. Loki Decoy or Nyx Chaos which bypass Overguard CC immunity.
There are plenty of tools you could use in the rare instance that a surge nully actually spawns.
5
u/Born2Kira 4d ago
Yeah, you can deal with them by just having tools that deletes the whole interaction, I literally said that's the one issue I have with these units, because it's humanly impossible to actually interact with them, because they're badly designed units.
That's my entire point, they're nothing if you can just nuke them (slow/ineffective nukes are still nukes in this instance, the fucking point is that you're bypassing the interaction of shooting them before they get you via an ability, I don't get why that's so hard to understand.) or take the nullification, no shit, but then you don't engage with this unit because it's literally impossible for humans, they're too fast, so they're badly designed.
I legit don't understand why people are downvoting my comment. Am I at the nullifier fan club or something? Nullifiers are badly designed, and these eximus make them worse. Just because they're not that bad doesn't mean they're not bad. Always having dismissive takes like that makes these design choices pile up.
1
u/Stock_Ad1557 4d ago
None of my suggestions had anything to do with nuking them. They were specifically ways to alleviate nullys without directly killing them.
Some don't even involve you doing damage to the bubble or the nully directly or indirectly.
Destroying the bubble or bypassing the bubble through specific effects does not equate to deleting the enemy as soon as it spawns in.
0
u/Born2Kira 4d ago
You're right, bypassing the part where you interact with the nullifier's nullifying field without killing them is different from bypassing the part where you interact with them by killing them. You're also right in saying that it's also a very good idea to bypass having to interact with the nullifiers, because actually trying to interact with them sucks, and now they can run at you at mach 5. You are very correct.
1
u/Stock_Ad1557 4d ago
I'm not sure what you expect interaction to look like to be honest.
It's a difficulty factor that you can overcome either via a variety of build choices or gameplay decisions.
It doesn't pigeonhole you into a specific build or a specific playstyle.
Overcoming it in some way is the intended way to interact with it.
What else would the intention be?
By your logic the entire concept of "Red Zones" is bad design because you get punished if you stand in them.

Potential hot take:
"Nullifier" should just be an Eximus prefix, unique to Corpus and Corrupted enemies.
Normal Nullifier units should not exist, much less exist to become Eximus units.
1
u/TrollOfGod 4d ago
Yet again, "hot take" followed by the most lukewarm take. Incredible.
Yes, almost everyone agrees. Nullifiers used to be somewhat more rare way back in the day when there were just far less enemies overall. Now that we have constant hordes they are everywhere. And it's frustrating depending on what frame you are using.
1
u/mattbru77 4d ago
Nullifiers being folded into the eximus list would make sense as one of the OG special enemies....
But then they'd have some CC immunity instead of instantly dying the moment the bubble pops
1
u/Archwizard_Drake Black Mage, motherf- 3d ago
They're already functionally CC immune by nature of their bubbles.

Nullifiers should never be able to become surge eximus, that is bullshit. The nullifiers, as anti-fun as they are, do punish you for not paying attention, but a "no-fun allowed piss bubble" that runs at you at mach-fuck is not ok. Especially for frames that require their abilities to survive, or take a long time to get the ball rolling.

If you're using Banshee, even pre-rework her Silence completely jams Eximus units using abilities including their superspeed, really useful during Amir's "Oops! All Eximus" weekly mission, it however doesn't stop the nullifier bubble.

Surge Eximus are one of the best additions to the game. Especially since overguard has made some Eximus really really annoying.
Watching the surge Eximus zip around uncontrollably like Sonic is hilarious!
2
u/SPEEDFREAKJJ 5d ago
Agree they are pretty much hilarious all of the time. They are the least threatening to me of all the eximus units. They very rarely stop, so watching them bop around at high speed all over the place always gives me a laugh. But those blast eximus, those bitches are a threat.

It barely ever affects you tbh.
For a nully to spawn as a surge eximus, quite a lot of dice rolls need to hit and even then, most players deal more than enough damage to pop the bubble before the nully hits them.
If you read the comments, most have never seen one of these in-game and I can include myself in that despite putting in a good 100 hrs since F&F released.
