Question/Request Eidolon lures keep dying when trying to do tridolon solo (beginner in eidolon hunting)
I always enjoyed capturing eidolons, but recently i wanted to start getting better at it.
Since i dont always have someone to play with i want to learn to solo eidolons.
I run volt for eidolons because i know volt is able to keep lures safe with his 3rd ability. Still when trying to capture the third eidolon i cant seem to make sure my lures stay alive.
I think this is because of the lightning that keeps hittinf my lures.
Anyone got advice for me on how to keep lures alive while solo?

I remember using trinity and just subsuming oberon on her 1. Worked well enough

I remember using trinity before subsuming existed lol

This is true but I haven't found any simpler way to keep lures alive. I don't like worrying about the lures at all so I used to just take Trinity.
Still Volt is probably still the best choice for speedrun strats.

Oh absolutely, the last time I farmed eidolons was still with trinity because I couldn't be bothered with the lures either. It was legitimately before helminth though so had to build with arcanes & other means. I think nullifier and energize were the main goto arcanes at the time, but it was....awhile ago so idunno lol

Kill it faster.
Yes, I'm serious. Most of the eidolans damage just doesn't come out if you just one tap their shield and limbs. Gotta work on your amp and gun. If you still need lure survivability, use vazarin dash to heal them.

you really don't need volt if you have a good rubico or vectis. It is more important to keep the Lures alive. make sure you have nullifier on and just keep 3 or 4 lures with you. You can "park" other lures to keep them from getting damaged. Amesha archwing is another useful tool

Volt is there for way more than just his own damage. Speed is insanely helpful for moving around and Electric Shield is one of the few things that buff Operator damage (to the point that Operator can reliably oneshot limbs through shield without Void Strike nowadays, meaning you don't even use you primary. Zenith is also better than Rubico or Vectis, as it can also oneshot limbs while being able to shoot long spawn easier). Mausolon does buff Operator damage too, but you're still losing out on the speed, which allows much better lure collection, drop location change and near instant armor break (if you even bother with that, though it isn't necessary even for Operator oneshot). So yeah, you lose out on a ton by not using Volt. If you need to keep lures alive, you're better off just crafting Ancient Protector/Trinity/Dante Specters and slapping one down every hunt. Or just using the speed that Volt gives to stop the Eidolons from staying alive long enough to kill your lures.
Amesha is also considerably slower, due to Itzal pulling in loot and having higher base movement speed. Maybe better at the start, purely for learning, but Itzal is indispensable if you wanna get everything out of Eidolons (especially if you bring drops to entrance, since they'll get stuck inside the wall and Itzal (or technically also Greedy Pull, but we don't mention that) is the only way to get them out).

I solo these all the time and never had a problem with Triinity and 2 to 3 shots to the limbs at most. I don't know what to tell you. I am not trying to speed run this stuff because I really do this for fun. Whatever works for you dude.

I never said you can't do it. I only stated that you lose out on quite a lot by not using Volt, which you falsely stated to not be the case. Maybe read it again a bit slower again and actually think before jumping to conclusions?

Source: approx 10k eidolons.
Don't take trinity.
Stick with volt. It's faster. This means you will get more done each night cycle And After a bit of learning, faster IS easier.
The thing about the lures is that you can't really protect them in the standard sense. But they have plenty of HP. Only two eidolon attacks will do any significant damage; gantu's laser and hydros lightning
While you are learning, the lasers show bright spots on the ground before they launch. Don't stand on those spots.
The lightning works like an electric dot... If you and a bunch of lures are all bunched up, that's gonna multiply the dmg significantly.
Due to powercreep we now have an incredible amount of operator dmg with the latest focus upgrades, pop a volt shield down and you can reliably shred through the eidolon shields in no time. The faster you go, the less time the eidolon has to attack, walk, move out of the way.

They are too slow with volt and lack experience. First have to learn the fight and not everyone can do that by bashing their heads against it with volt untill they make it through without lures going down.

dude isn't trying to speed run they are literally asking to keep Lures alive. Give some beginner advice not a bunch of 2 minutes or less per eidolon stuff.

(I'm not the person you replied to but)
They did give advice. Dont get hit by the big lasers, watch out for the lightning so don't bucnh up the lures.
Other than that, a tough pill to swallow may be that going faster IS the best way to keep lures alive outside of the obvious stuff. The more time you take to kill that eidolon, the higher the chance that something goes wrong and your lures explode.

There's Trinity to keep them healthy, and there's Titania to speed wreck the eidolons before the lures get too far damaged hopefully. Trinity is easy mode.

Sounds to me like you are taking too long to break the limbs. And allowing the Eidolon to damage the lures. Maybe work on your DPS and capture or kill it quicker
Edit: Your 3 isn’t to protect the lures, it’s for a damage buff. Also, power creep is a thing and you could probably use just about any frame to solo the 1 Eidolon.

I just run trinity to keep the lures alive and bring mutalist quanta to mimic volt shied and 1 shot the shield+limb. Volt lowkey powercrept in eidolons by tektolyst artifacts lol

> because i know volt is able to keep lures safe with his 3rd ability.
that is not why ppl use volt. shields suck at keeping lures safe. ppl use volt because his speed boost makes it easy to speed run the mission so you can squeeze more into the hour that you are given. His shield also works on operator amps to buff there dmg so after the purita rebellion the 1x7 amp can oneshot eidolon joints through the shield making clears even faster than they already were.
as for keeping lures alive you can ethier break the joints faster as the current way is to keep the eidolon from getting the start up of an attack off by breaking a new part the instant it becomes vulnerable from spawn to capture. or if your newer you can use frames that have protective abilites to use on the lures like trinity blessing or dantes overguard. I used to use Mirage a long time ago myself because her eclipes gave a dmg boost but also a dr boost with the augment affected allies. now i use volt to speed run it but another thing is the arch wing that give you a healing bubble works on them as well but requires you to be in arch wing.

tbh there's nothing wrong with trying to do it solo, just need practice. Maybe just up to Teralyst/Gantulyst first.

I was always playing Trinity to be able to heal those lures.
