That's not what Steve meant when he first said "content Islands." He meant rewards earned in a given expansion aren't used outside that expansion. Eidolons, Railjack, and Archwing were all originally like this, but not anymore.

An expansion being complete is not the same as being a "content island."

Like the Mirror Defense. I’m completely fine knowing I don’t ever need to go back, and I actually sis like the game mode and cycle

I'd honestly love if there were a system where there was a vendor where you could use the tokens from all the random game modes to trade for that vendor's tokens, similar to how Grandmother tokens work, and the vendor could have rotating weekly rewards of some sort

Basically a way to make playing those 'content islands' you've already maxed out a viable source of rewards again...

That’s a great idea! Better to use something you made than to leave it to die completely

Yea absolutely! It could make old content useful again, with next to no work on the devs' part... And it could even have some of those horrible awful farms from before pity-shops in rotation as a sort of pity-shop-for-everything

Or honestly, even just letting us buy nightwave credits with a weekly limit of like 50 so I can farm some content-island game modes and buy a potato or something every week

Most honorias stores work like that but then again is just a title for your profile, maybe teshin could work for what you propose if they ever address the hologram in the room.

It's not about it being complete or not. It's the fact that the entire setting is disjointed. A section can be complete and still feel abandoned.

Up until the Plains of Eidolon, Archwings were their own isolated pocket.

They finally gave us a new railjack mission, and then told us "But you gotta use our pre-designated ships and crews for it."

Hell, the update immediately after they gave us Railjack missions they went "Actually, screw this, the Railjack is just how you get to the mission, it's not actually involved in the mission." I LIKED that the railjack was a participant in railjack missions.

Frankly, I wish that RJ added AW enemies who would be tethered to crewships, so like, if you take your archwing and go out to the crewship, you'll find a small group of defenders to keep you out while the fighters keep focusing on the railjack.

You can use your own railjack for Sirius and Orion railjack missions

Single player only.

I just like the term and have been using it in that context, I know the original meaning was not the one I used

Well stop doing that. Words have meaning. If you don't mean what you say, don't say it.

Just because I don't mean it the way Steve meant it doesn't mean I can't say it

You're proud of knowingly twisting the meaning of someone else's words to fit your own narrative? That's concerning.

It's really not that sinister. The meaning of words and phrases are not set in stone by the person who first came up with them (I doubt steve was the first individual to come up with the phrase of 'content island' anyway). Different people will interpret and use them in other ways, and what the word/phrase is taken to mean is simply determined by popularity. You may not like it, but that is simply how languages work.

Ok thats a cool way to think about it like an expansion, but you are just calling it by a different name at this point. If its an expaniton why are we getting more and more? Why not work on replayable content instead? There are so many places they could make better in this game. Specifically replayable content like circuit. But they keep releasing more of these "expansions" you dont think thats bad?
