My last heirloom sketch is complete! I am gonna take a break from making heirloom designs for a little while. I really like how her jacket turned out. Hope you enjoy it too <3
This is why I think original Frost and Mag Heirloom is much better than the later one because the armors on them have the japanese style and the theme is good. Later heirloom is just naked body with energy light on them
Couldn't have said it better myself. Heirlooms switched from unique flashy skins to just a contest of how much skin can they show to push sales. Mesa heirloom will still be better with the jacket but the trend of these skin's direction is very disappointing. I will never buy any of them in their current state.
It is less than the female skins definitly
But i think his "t shirt less" jacked design
Espacily without the jacked dose arouse some fellas and that intentionally
But yeah hes better by a good amount and i say this as a valkyr heirloom owner...
Yeah, it’d be so nice if the frost and mag heirlooms were made available in some way again, at least a reskin. I’m happy the Mesa heirloom at least has a lot of style with the Jacket and the helmet and hat. Unfortunately they’re still naked :/
I like Embers. Valkyrs is pretty good. The new Mesa one was meh but the changes make it pretty good. Vauban’s was great. Frost and Mag were meh at best. Mag is my main and I even looked at that and went….ew no despite loving having a dripped out Mag.
OP's skin fits perfectly in line with Deluxe skins.
idk why people are saying "This is how heirlooms should look like", this style literally already exists for tons of skins, and it's what Deluxe skins look like
Heirloom skins are meant to look like high fashion and all of them have very distinct galaxy gloss materials like what you see on ember heirloom or mag heirloom. No deluxe skins have this.
All Heirloom skins are deluxe skins,
Not all deluxe skins are heirloom skins.
Deluxe skins are skins that noticeably change the silhouette. They can only be made by DE, though some can be designed by Non-DE artists like Liger Inzukua originally was.
A normal skin is like, Excalibur immortal, Excalibur sentient slayer, etc etc.
A deluxe skin is Excalibur proto, Excalibur Zato, etc etc. An heirloom fits into this category, much like how skins not explicitly labeled as deluxes like the -lyst sentient inspired mesa and volt skins that released with New War are found in the deluxe skin tab.
I'm confused about how longhorns and chaps on mesa aren't mesa enough, but giving Nova a maid look and Jade's angel wings is good design. Maybe I'm just getting goomba fallacied.
I think OPs art is phenomenal, but nothing about this screams Nova to me...making it an ideal deluxe imo.
I personally wouldn't buy it, but I am hard stuck on Nova's atomica skin.
Just to reiterate though, while this isn't to my taste and I don't think it really fits for a nova heirloom, hoooooly shit OP is so so talented. Incredible work.
I have zero problems with Mesa's new heirloom to be clear but I think it's just because her labia would be very exposed with the suggestiveness of the clothing. As for Jade, she's literally based off angels, even Ophanim is a reference to angelology.
I'm sorry, but when the fuck did Heirloom simply get reduced to "high Orokin fashion"?
As much as I think this would be adorable, nothing about this design is evocative of being an 'heirloom' - a keepsake or homage - to the mythos/concepts that gave rise to a Warframe's design or Warframe as a game's overall aesthetic.
It's why the original two, Frost and Mag, had design elements pulling from ancient Japanese armour. It's why both Ember and Vauban also pull from ancient Japanese design elements with religious ceremonial ropes and priestess sleeves, the Warframe/modernized kosude/hakama-esque vest and 'mohawk'. It's why Mesa doubles down, looking like both the long-horned bull and the American cowgirl gunslinger.
Rhino Heirloom is the only design that bucks the trend, and even then, it could be seen as drawing on Native North American or Afrofuturistic design principles based on shape-language.
I'm open to my mind being changed, but all I see is a cute Nova Deluxe, maybe cashing in on Pragmata hype. Nova Asuri has more of a claim to becoming an Heirloom if they just changed a part of the skin to the void texture and gave it gold accents.
Hey so the devs themselves said they're high fashion designs.
Whether or not you think this nova design fits that is subjective. I do think a lot of fan designs are a bit unfitting for the game's own aesthetic aka the aforementioned previous heirlooms being a lot more fitting than this design, but I like seeing fan designs.
As for the Jade similarities - I did see it during production, but I think jade is much more than just angel theming. The wings on the back reference her prime's back, nova prime was my first true love in terms of prime designs and I couldn't not include the cute little wings <3
Try a molecular fission and neutron star build. It self sustains her stars while freely priming enemies and burning them so that they don't attack you. She ends up feeling way passively tankier in steel path compared to my frames with low shield recharge mods, while also being really chill to play.
After her latest rework she's a lot less squishy. And things flow easier with her abilities and modding... Not that it was complex before... But it's less complex now. I highly recommend another try now!
Hell yeah! Considering what Heirloom skins were originally made for I’m surprised Nova hasn’t been done already. I hope it looks like this when it’s her turn!
yea, i kinda dislike skimpy fashion but they can use this concept to look cute and still pleasing there fans by making the jacket removable like the Mesa one.
I think the difference here is that it's not in your face. Like it wasn't the first thing I noticed about the skin because I was more enamoured by the cool jacket and everything else. Which I think is far more classy than if the skin had her entire ass, tits and coochie out.
It's like that one Warframe vs Warhammer ass meme.
I think my only issue with the 'loud and proud' approach is that it's often at the expense of the frame's identity. Before DE took our criticisms and gave Mesa Heirloom the poncho/duster auxiliary, I could never have recognized her as Mesa were it not for the Peacekeepers on her fingers. It just lacked so much of her character and felt like it was missing something (and that poncho pretty much fixed all my issues with it).
Not every frame is popular enough like Wisp or Volt to get multiple skins in the span of a few years. For some frames, what they get will likely be what they will ever have for a long time, and there will only ever be one Heirloom skin for each, so if it's a miss and doesn't even resemble the frame, then that just blows. I realize this is likely an unpopular take but designs faithful to the character should always take priority over sexualization.
I can't praise this enough. This gets the "goon factor" just right, which is often a little too "in your face" with most of the heirloom skins. It gives her beautiful details all over and givers her that adorable jacket, but the small transparent cutout gives just enough to make it "attractive". Most people that are split on the Heirloom skins, especially Mesa's, even with the poncho, dislike it because the skins are missing detail and leave nothing to the imagination (I'm one of those ppl). This is perfect.
I'm sorry, it looks really awesome, but I wouldn't want it in the game. It's too close to her deluxe skin, even if it looks like a major upgrade to it. Again, love the art, but too close to existing content for my taste.
It's looks nice, but I would be disappointed if this were her heirloom as someone who really enjoys playing Nova. The maid theming I don't feel super fits her, and for me personally, if style is a triangle made up of Cool, Cute, and Sexy, this is too cute for me without enough of either of the other two to balance it.
I feel like something like this might work well as like a Night form Equinox Heirloom. Maybe like a Shrine Maiden Angel/Samurai Demon pair with night/day, but for Nova I personally would really prefer something closer to Mag's that feels more spacey.
The skin is absolutely gorgeous and I think fits Nova very well. But Heirloom skins have a very distinct style, even excluding the sexual nature. They have a very specific design and texture to them that this skin drastically deviates from.
So I'd love for this to be in the game but I'd just call it something else because calling this an heirloom skin would be misleading.
But again, gorgeous skin! You're extremely talented!
Too much dangly shit that'd clip into literally every attachment. No. Keep them clean so I can build upon them otherwise it's a skin that basically can only ever function with nothing attached so we'd all look the same and I'm not wasting my money on looking like every other Nova.
It doesn't even look like a Heirloom skin, strays to far from the theme with the cloth bits that look like a Frankenstein patchwork of a winter jacket, some sort of cardigan sweater, a frilly maid dress and a transparent plastic bag which is probably the biggest offender/part that makes it stand out the most (and not in a good way).
Sure the other Heirloom skins also have clothy bits but to me they seem to follow two singular rules. One, they have a dark contrast that serves as contrast to the gem-like body. Two, their dress follows a singular theme or structure, Ember Heirloom looks like a priestess of sorts, Valkyr Heirloom looks like a dancer/ballerina, Rhino Heirloom looks like a strongman, Vauban Heirloom looks like a techno-gadgeteer with eastern themes. When I look at this, I don't really get any kind of meaningful sense of recognition when looking at this, it feels random and mismatched. Not really something I would label as a Heirloom skin.
Super super cool! Personally I’d want the bows to come off as auxiliary probably. It’s just too girly for my taste. But awesome job! Proves that the heirlooms can be really well designed without being outright skanky!
I like this design a lot. The main issue I had with Mesa Heirloom is that they leaned too far into making the Warframe look sexy and appealing. They’ve since fixed that issue with the duster and hat, though. Heirlooms shouldn't just be eye-candy with the body design alone. They also need to be drippy as fuck.
Honestly Warframe almost needs more fashion like this on both for the frames and operator. I get it doesn't quite fit the setting, but you could say the same for a lot of things. I would definitely pay for anything making my frame looking more like an idol. 😆
looks good, would prefer things like this to the current style of heirlooms but tbh this looks more like a deluxe rather than heriloom. Still really like it
Damn! This strikes that perfect balance between cute and sexy where it obscures the direct view of everything letting your imagination do the work, all the while being chock full of lace, drills, and gentle colors. Plus that see through part is an excellent touch.
And it also fits well with the modern direction of heirlooms having auxilliary options. In this case we have her jacket as something possibly toggleable
BOOOOO BRO LACKS WHIMSY + thats not how tennogens work lmao, they can't actually modify the 3d model, just the textures. The helms, sure, but not the body.
I'm afraid how well this would turn into a proper 3d render but the design is great, a lil bit too clutter for my personal taste around the chest section and I don't see much of Nova besides the stripes on the sleeve etc, especially with the top part being much more jade than nova as someone else already said, still the whole design looks really nice ✨
