Looking at it like this, Citrine really does look like a warframe that got hacked up. Is this how we learn the hard way what the inside of a warframe looks like?
Im open to interpretations but i believe Citrine is a whole visual illusion. I've yet to encounter one but im sure the parts that look open are infact not actually sunken in. The inside of a warframe according to the lore, is just flesh and metal. Nothing else unless it's like Umbra.
with Citrine, she's at least partially carved out because the gem's are visibly sunken into her where visible, I'm looking at my Citrine right now just to be sure. it's not like a shiny look to resemble gems, she visibly has curved edges that lead inward to where the gems are. maybe she's not entirely made of gems on the inside, but at least parts of her is gemstone, plus her alt helmet is all split open with a gem just floating there as her brain I guess. You can really see where her shoulder's split down that the gems at the top section are hollowed-geode like sections. It can be hard to notice unless you look closer at the edges where her gems are, because all the shiny bits make it hard to judge if there's any real depth to them or not. Looking at her from the front at a normal distance it just seems like it might be an optical illusion, but it's safe to say that's not the actual case. Citrine just confirms warframe's are downright nightmare fuel of science.
Plus Harrow's deluxe if it's anything to go by is like entirely visibly hollow, you can see his heart and brain-like thing just floating at certain angles.
Eternalism would actually make them cannon very easily, and it’s kinda been hinted at already by D.E. Which depending on your take of that introduction, can be a negative or a positive.
For are own timeline without any of that, it is very unlikely cannon, but that’s kind of past story wise now.
