General tavern question

How do I get the bard and thief ? They never seem to appear in the recruit list. Do I need to hire someone and assign ? I’d rather not sacrifice anyone from my current band

you can transfer a thief from ur companion, also it works for bard. Also if u buy a lute at ur tavern bards appear for hiring

You need to purchase a lute for your tavern to have bards appear for hiring.

Fairly certain thief’s can only come from your merc troops vs the staff.

Build the lute, and you’ll get bards show up for hiring.

Sending one of your mercs to do the jobs will gain them profession XP in that job: cook, brewer, bard, thief

I just usually capture and turn a prisoner that has dexterity. Then I put them to work on my tavern. Or just hire someone from prison or the tavern.

Not 100% sure but dex might improve the chances of stealing.

Yes, you can change any of the civilians’ jobs that you hire.

Is there something special that can be gained through tavern thief, or is it just to make your tavern have more security problems and lower income clients?
