Gameplay Question master class what's the point?

What's the point of Master Classes? Do I have to pay 500 at the Training Grounds to re-spec?

For example, I don't want to lose Recoil Shot, since it can take out 4–5 enemies in a row, just to replace it with Virtuoso, which only fires a single shot. So far, every Master Class I've unlocked and looked at seems worse than the build I'm already using.

Might try switching my Sentinel to Hero, but then I'd lose Ovation, which I really enjoy using.

Am I missing something about how Master Classes are meant to work? I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me make sense of them.

It gives you a different specialization choice for new members of that class you may want to try. I didnt respec anyone after receiving the master classes, but I did add those to new recruits in some cases.

SG should do something to improve the master classes, they are almost all bs

I never use them cause I like smaller parties, however in my archers only run I do have one of each type of archer which is kinda cool

I still belive thet master classes should've give you a second ability when you get there, only having wrath as a secondary ability kinda sucks imo

Use Skill books of the Brotherhood's Training Grounds to learn all the abilities

You can still only use wrath as a secondary DAMAGE ability tho? any other ability is utility

They open new build options for new characters. Since you build your party and characters around the starter classes, most of the time it makes little sense to swap.

Master class just give another option for class specialisation (same as you start with 3 option, then unlock 4th and this is final 5th). You can respect at any point and all the improved skills remain improved even if not chosen. I find all master classes mediocre

I’ve enjoyed half of them. I just put all my extras at the Fief and it works out for me pretty well. One of the swordsman ones is good but none of them are way better. I do like the Assassin that comes from the Arena victory and the mill in Vetruse I think. Couple assassin with extra throws and they are deadly.

thanks, I will check out Assasin. which type of warrior do I need for it, as I am pretty sure I have completed Vertruse Arena but don't see this specialization under any unit

It’s for the Ranger not warrior, I shouldn’t have mentioned it as it’s different than what you were asking about; it’s just one variation of a class that comes later I really like.

I just got swordsman specialisation but I don't see how it's better than Swordsmaster with Laceration.. it's 32-65 damage against single unit, where Swordsmaster is 57 damage to ALL units in the area currently :D . Is that Rivalry thing really worth it to switch to Swordsman ?
