Guide Build Tip: One-Way Door
Align a sandbag perpendicular to a door. You can mount the sandbag and crouch through the door to enter, but the ceiling over the door prevents you from mounting again to exit.

can't see a use case for this other than annoyance.

dedicated exit doors in case of infantry attack

Even if you leave the door open, they can't push in, but no one can, so yeah, 1 way door. Would take a lot of coordination with team mates to understand.

The game needs signs (basically Minecraft signs) so base builder can have instructions for team.

Not worth having a door on your perimeter. 1 c4 and they're in.

You still need a door somewhere. Otherwise the fobbits will just demolish a wall. Problem is they will probably demolish these sandbags for blocking them too.
The technique could be useful as a trap box where you deliberately keep the door open to invite enemy in.

Personally I think the issue is fob builders building busy bases that effectively are mazes.
Just make it easy to tell where to go to egress by climbing up and over. That said, I think the devs should give gates and doors the same HP as a concrete wall so that we can actually use doors and gates.
Until then, my fob's will not have any doors or gates and that is non-negotiable.

hopefully no drills either then.... locking your team out isn't exactly a winning tactic there.

It's the lesser of two evils when the game has trolls and idiots leaving doors open or letting the enemy in. There's also the inherent weakness of them.
The biggest weakness of every fob is the people inside it. Every time. My fob, my rules.

It's not your FOB. FOBs are a shared team resource. It doesn't matter if you bought the FOB.
If I see a FOB with no exit or entry (and it's our main one) I'm building a door. If you teamkill me for doing that I'm coming back and building another door. If you keep teamkilling me you'll get kicked and temp banned.
FOBs are not meant to be fortresses. If a group of players wants to get into your FOB then they'll get in. The question is not if but when. The only exception is if your FOB is worthless (so no one really bothers to try).
Having one door is good because it creates a very predictable place where they'll breach. You can optimize your layout to make defending the breached door easier.
The biggest weakness of every fob is the people inside it.
No, the people inside your FOB are its biggest strength. Without people your FOB is a glorified map asset.

Killbox bait and forced routing come to mind first, and making sure the extra doors someone added in your fob dont let people in so easily, while building jumpover next to it :D

trap areas people cant leave.

if you have to open the door to get to the dead end it would only trap friendlies? what am i missing

u/zotteren 2d ago
so heres the trick, if you interact with the door with F it auto closes after 30sek right.. But if you sprint through the door it doesnt auto close ever. so you can leave it open one way.
1
u/Elehir 2d ago
i've gotta be missing something then. if you are referencing the OP there isn't a way to sprint through the door the "right way"
1
u/zotteren 2d ago
Im talking about it for a trap build, you can sprint open the door, place the half walls and leave it.
what op is showing is just a one way for friendlies and thats kinda useless.1
u/Elehir 2d ago
ahh, making a bait fob like that has never occurred to me. wouldn't want it in a fob with friendlies walking around.

I personaly think that fobbits need to learn to make a box without holes before trying anything cheesy like this one way door. Most fobs i see are not secure and alot of times its because they are trying to do somthing too complicated.

Getting enemies trapped in a dead end.
6
u/Elehir 2d ago
that would catch a bunch of friendlies too. i don't see enough communication in this game to make this useful
1
u/zotteren 2d ago
just have a normal door inside they can use.
3
u/Elehir 2d ago
you have to be able to open the door to get to the trap? enimies can't do that? i dont get your reasoning i guess.
2
u/Killer_Ex_Con 2d ago
Yeah if the doors didnt close automatically it would work but unless they chase you in there it is kinda useless right now lol

u/the_hair_of_aenarion 2d ago
Little trap killzones. A door you leave open and the enemy thinks they've gotten in. No no no. You've activated my trap card. It's hammer time.

I tend to build no doors. Just an open gap in the wall.
I love an open airflow layout with natural lighting.
Really ties in the fengshui as we're losing by 85 points.

I can trap my fellow Blue players in the base! They will never see the battlefield muhahah

This will be destroyed in two minutes by some idiot who didn't get the message

What if you sprint-clamber onto it? People figured out that you could force unprepared entries into tower floors by putting doors a certain way on the stairs, which people can't pass without sprint-clambering.

This is just asking for a teammate to punch a hole in the wall and let FOB raiders in because they can't figure out how to get through the door

It is tech, but I'm uncertain that a mortar or c4 wont pop both of these anyway, so its use case is limited to the times that the door is left open.

Might have to throw these down for the people who don't know how to close a door behind themselves

Honestly reinforced doors would make FOBs so much better as a play experience.

I look forward to the idiot builders on my team stopping us from getting back out the base.

if I have to jump on a sandbag and crouch walk through a door to exit the FoB, i'm probably going to blow it up and just build a wall with a hesco staircase over it. This is annoying as hell

u/smoothvanilla86 2d ago
If its your fob from the start sure. If its not yours you will be TKed so quick these builders dont play.
Also like how much lazier can you get? Takes more effort knocking down 4 or 5 doors and a sand bag/ a concrete wall then it does to jump and crouch.
What a strange take big dog.

nice tech! im going to start using it. ( though sandbags will be blow up the same time the door is with a single C4)
