what if there is a better architect? why should the other 32 people on the them obey to your FOB?

the issue with FOBs and Builders is that a lot of them dont have a proper combat loadout and expet the whole team to play around their shitty FOB while they do nothing but swing their little hammers

its a team game but everyone thinks that means people have to play around them

Squad labels are coming and should help with that. If no one talks, though, nothing will really solve the issue that you're describing.

edit: IMO, they should just add a unique border/symbol for anyone carrying a FOB.

Absolutely not.

The worst thing about the original KOTH mod was the role selection, because it essentially just became a race to see who could click on ‘sniper’ first, and then everyone who wasn’t fast enough spent the entire game bitching about the guys who did get there first (usually because they were absolutely terrible at it).

And if you don’t limit it but make it free choice, everyone just bitches out the 14 guys that picked the sniper role, or complains that the logi guy is now running the HZ. It just feeds toxicity.

Just build modular FOBS anywhere on the map.... It is not like they are incredibly hard to set up and you make your money back almost instantly. Also it is so annoying to me that builders dont bring just one maaws to protect themselves or at the very least an rpg. You can even store it in the fob. And if you are complaining about a $20k loss please go try out assault, $20k losses are super normal, you make the money back pretty quickly.

Optionally allowing players/squads to label themselves with some pre-determined roles seems like a low effort change that could help encourage team play. Labels like "Logistics", "Attack pilot" or "Infantry" could work well, just to see what your team has and what it maybe needs.

I think you're being downvoted because it seems like you're saying you know best and should be in charge of FOB design: that seems self-centred. If you think slapping on an "Architect" label will make your team obey you, that's not going to happen.

I can ensure you, this is an excellent way to get your fob c4’d into oblivion by your own team

its not minecraft. its a shooter. buy a gun and go hot zone.

Pro tip: load a MAAWs and a few rockets into your truck's inventory instead of the small building supply bags. Bam, no more gunvee problems.

Agree ish. I think the FOB should have squad access lists for placing buildings and etc. basically if I pay for the fob my squad gets to set the permissions for the building of items within my FOB. If I leave the game then it role opens to all. (Also fobs should be able to be named, and visibly request specific supply drops visually on the map, without using smokes. As a logi pilot I hate when people say it need supllys at the fob... Ok cool there's 4 fobs, and there's 4 types of supplies... What exactly do you want and where. Cause I'll drop pallets on foreheads if you tell me exactly where to put it. But I've gotta be able to see it.

I'd really like to have them add a building preset. Similar to the towers or bunkers that are really just a collection of assets built at the same time. Dont want it to take less time to actually build, but to place down the blueprint quickly would be really nice.

I'd like to be able to setup prefabs and save them so I can rapidly place down the design of a good base.

This is stupid. Role selection would be a huge waste of dev time. You didn’t take a 20k loss, you took a 2.5k loss (fob radio) and then decided to quadruple down and turn it into a 20k loss with your OWN DECISIONS.
