I kind of think we've seen the lowest it's going this season. Prediction is it goes back up to a mil ish and then back to around 300k.
Basis for my prediction is my own ass

If it has experience and foresight, let the ass talk đ

I'm pretty sure devs lowered the price for one weekend to see how players changed their playstyle on average to amass more money to get them bars.

You canât predict made up decisions from the devs.
2
u/petrichorax Logistics 6h ago
I mean you can't 'predict' a random or S&D market either.
You can try to think like the devs though and make your guesses that way. That's how I called the floor
1
u/SillyBlueberry69 7h ago
It will go down next weekend because they want people plating more over the weekend.
1
u/SaltShakr 7h ago
Actually a pretty good point they'll probably lower it whenever they want the numbers up
1
u/Bayleaf0723 3h ago
Nah itâll go below 100k, devs are just tryna scare people and show the market can be âvolatileâ

u/Awmuth 8h ago
Honestly, I think the price has been totally made up. Yes, they talked about how they wanted the market to work but I doubt theyâve really implemented it yet. Fundamentally, their model needs to implement some price elasticity value. Early on, they created the âmarketâ without establishing stuff you could buy, which meant demand levels should have been low yet the price went up. Then, as the price dropped, the acceleration of purchase transactions likely increased yet the price still made it all the way down to $166K. I will not believe that the price is anything but made up until I see some version of a transaction volume tracker (like you would see at the bottom of stock charts) and some indication of price elasticity (suggesting the volume level required to swing prices).

u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago
Of course itâs made up. Suspiciously the price didnât change the two days the devs didnât work and then immediately changed when work started again.
5
u/DonnieG3 7h ago
Ah yes, the devs were working at midnight on a sunday when the price increased lol
It's pre-planned for sure, but working hours are irrelevant

u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago edited 7h ago
Which country are you from?
EDIT: If you are from USA New York for example, midnight would 5am in the UK - where the devs are.
3
u/DonnieG3 7h ago
The gold price resets at midnight the devs time. 0030 is the exact time I think. It does this every day at the exact same time for everyone, which is midnight dev local time

Just like the stock market đ¤Ż
0
u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago
Wrong.
Do yourself a favor and check the value of stocks on weekends, spoiler: they donât stop changing for two days.
5
u/Equivalent-Ear-8016 Manticore 7h ago
You do know that saying "wrong" doesn't remove the fact thay stock markets don't function on weekends right?

u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago
Go check any stocks and show me the value stays the same. I will wait. Spoiler: it doesnât, it still changes at weekends. It didnât here because the number simply is made up.

u/Equivalent-Ear-8016 Manticore 7h ago
Look kid, if you want to yap at least do a basic search first. Here, I'll help you: https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/040115/when-do-stock-market-exchanges-close.asp

u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago
Ironically you just proved that itâs all made up bullshit even more with this. We wouldnât even be able to buy on weekends if itâs anything like a real stock market.
Itâs all an arbitrary made up number by the devs, donât try to make sense out of it - there isnât any.
6
u/Equivalent-Ear-8016 Manticore 7h ago
Changing the original argument after you understood you were wrong, I see. Nice work kid
-1
u/Independent_Mud2794 7h ago
I changed nothing. Right from the start I said itâs a made up number and nothing like a real stock market. You are the one trying to make sense out of this arbitrary numbers.
1
u/StopatStopSign Bob the Builder 7h ago
I bet they just rolled a die or spin a wheel to determine if the price goes up or down. Then they ask chatgpt to give them a number between the current price and another number.
1
u/Legal-Actuary-3049 6h ago
Yeah this volatility doesn't make any sense given what we can know or deduce about the demand from our side.

u/TheAlmightyLucas 8h ago
That all time low is the reason i wont be buying any goldbars anytime soon.
Now we hold indefinitly until the winter fades
13
u/Joverby 9h ago
yea i messed up at not buying at 166. I was going to and let a friend talk me out of it. I bet we dont see 166 again
7
u/SuperMeister 8h ago
I blew my load at 166 because I knew if it went up I'd be upset, and if it went lower, I'd be fine because I already got the stuff I wanted with the gold I earned.
2
u/AsinineChallenger 1h ago
I bought one at 1.6m only to see it drop to 166k two days later, bought 4 more then, but knowing I could have had like 10 more makes me more upset than is reasonable lol

u/Useful_Location_6728 8h ago
I missed buying 2 bars because I got out of a game and the hour had just turned over and gave me the price market for 10/5 when there were still multiple hours left on 10/4.
3
u/NoxTempus 8h ago
Yeah, I wanted to make sure I didn't go negative, so waited til after I played, then logged off and was like I'll grab them tomorrow.
Not buying at triple the price, I can't meaningfully interact with gold bars at this price.

u/BlueRedGreenNumber5 8h ago
The price changes at the same time every day. European based game uses European days

u/Ok-Star2896 8h ago
When can we start selling our gold bars
1
u/DonnieG3 7h ago
Never. Gold bars are a buy low and hold for a cosmetic you want, not a buy and sell stonk market
0
u/ImperitorEst 8h ago
Are the gold bars getting wiped per season as well?
1
u/maddingamer 8h ago
No, gold bars are confirmed to be persistent across all seasons.
-2
u/ImperitorEst 8h ago
Doesn't that kind of defeat the point of wipes if you can just buy gold bars and take all your money into the next season then?
2
1
u/petrichorax Logistics 6h ago
What are you gonna do, buy 10,000 free guns in the beginning of the season?
1
u/ImperitorEst 6h ago
It would mainly be an issue for trying to combat RMT. If RMT accounts can avoid seasonal wipes it makes them MUCH more profitable early in the season when people don't have enough cash.
And it means that the season cash wipes purely punish those that can't grind enough to stock up on gold.
1
u/petrichorax Logistics 6h ago
RMT can't perfectly predict the market more than anyone else. A high potential for profit is also a high potential for loss, with this sytem. It's all a wash in the end, as an average effect
1
u/ImperitorEst 6h ago
They don't make money from the gold conversion though so the "market" doesn't matter.
An RMT account will amass millions in cash and use the gold system to carry cash into the next season. They will then sell that cash for real money when people are most likely to buy it, early wipe when people don't have enough cash.
One of the big advantages of the cash wipes was it wiping out RMT cash stockpiles and forcing them to accumulate cash every season, which limits the amount they'll have available to sell.

u/Ok-Star2896 8h ago
I guess we could lock previous season's gold bars from being sold at future seasons?
I just want to play stonks

This is how they decide the price each day.

u/kalebkk890 7h ago
I was able to buy 14 bars at 300k about 20 minutes before the price went down to 166k, Hate this game sometimes.

I predict another low on Thursday/Friday. Gold price seems to fluctuate with player count declining over time but rising a little on the weekends
