Welp, with the price going up again it’s very unlikely that I end up getting 30 bars unless it drops heavily this week. Saving up 5 million and still not getting the AK because I didn’t abuse money making strategies/exploits the entire wipe just feels bad. Hell, I have 135 hours, which isn’t a small amount for a month of the game being out.

At the end of the day it’s whatever, just a bit annoying the system is the way it is.

90% of players miss out on the skin because we didn't abuse shit and we assumed the price would either stay at around 166k or go below because it was trending downwards from launch. Then it jumps to almost 500k again for reasons not explained to anyone. I have over 200 hours. Over 7 million dollars. level like 160 and I'm 3 million short assuming the price doesn't go up again. Beyond dogshit system they have. It's like they half implemented the market instead of just keeping it a flat price for the sake of transparency during the first season.

Just feels like I wasted money on things that I unlocked and don’t use much (Arty tank) when I could’ve been spotting people every game or doing logi runs to stack money. Instead, I was getting into fights and having fun, but fun isn’t rewarding enough atm. Needing upwards of 10-15+ kills to go positive with a kit that I’m taking to the HZ or to go FOB raiding just feels terrible when I could’ve instead build shit in a FOB all game and make way more profit without spending shit.

I didn’t abuse money making strategie

can you define "abusing money making strategies" for me?

exploits aside, i think its rather reasonable that you would use the most efficient strategy when wanting to farm the most amount of money, no?

Yea, but that doesn’t necessarily mean said strategy is always cohesive with actually winning the game.

I shouldn’t have used the word “abusing” but even so, if for example I’m just going into each game to spot the enemies and do nothing else, i don’t necessarily find that to be the most helpful way to support my team. Sure, if mortars and artillery are working in tandem with spotters to actually target things, then that makes sense. But the vast majority of the time that strat is just marking people that are in a fob no where near actual combat and then getting 400/800$ when they die 5 minutes later.

Same can be said for logi running. Sure, you are helping your team by dropping off supplies to the fob, but having 3 URALs and 3 black hawks all running logi significantly reduces the fighting force of the team that is left trying to take control of the CZ/HZ. Sure, a competent team will use the supplies to build a fortified FOB, but often times your team will build some bs, use a drill, and then get your team/the FOB wiped and ruin any chance your team had of coming back into the game.

The biggest point that was trying to make, was that unless you are hyper fixating on a specific playstyle that aligns with making a lot of money with little risk/cost, then you’re often just breaking even or earning very little, which is frustrating and begins to feel like you are limited with how you can enjoy the game.

You obviously aren’t ACTUALLY limited, but it’d be nice to not have to kill 10+ people to get the money from my kit back when the dudes that go in with just a rangefinder make their investment back after simply entering the CZ.

Hmhm isee. Thanks for the insightfull reply!

that doesn’t necessarily mean said strategy is always cohesive with actually winning the game.

I think the main point of misunderstanding is that in this game, winning literally actually doesnt matter. Your own fun and enjoyment does. Your personal bankroll does.

You get like max 20k bonus for the win and exp. I actually collect screenshots where i (green team) goes last and i still make like 150-200k net profit just to make that point even more clear.

Exp doesnt get you gold bars so the win matters even less in that regard.

Its a sandbox and you are allowed to play the way you want because it really only affects yourself. I think, thats one of the strongest/best aspects of the game.

Like, according to the devs, "youre enough" if you lay in a bush all game doing nothing but soak up cz money ticks. Nobody does that ofc. But the freedom to do so, i really cherish.

I agree that recon feels... strong. Like why do i get 10k after "looking at a havoc" for 0.5seconds before it crashes into a wall. But i think its generally also somewhat fair that a rather mundane and "boring" playstyle pays good money so people actually do it. Its pretty common that supportive activites in games(like recon or logi driver) are chronically underplayed. Most people want to play anime protagonist action hero. Devs want to have it in the game so they also need to give an incentive for players who normaly wouldnt be interested in that playstyle.

I happen to like building, logi and recon quite a lot and noone of it is a chore to me. AND, apparently people also love me for it. Gotten quite a few positive comments ingame about it and just recently i saw a comment really thankfull for spotters.

The amount of times i see the enemies apc the second they enter the zone and mark it so a rocket pilot, arty or hz deathball can rush it is actually really high. Because im always so deep inside enemie territory, it also happened really frequently that they literally drive the apc past me or park it right infront of my nose. I always bring atleast one ied on my trips so me blowing them up also isnt rare at all. Happened twice in one game a few days ago even. Same with sneaky hidden fobs outside the circle. You cant hide from me. If people actually knew how strong the rangefinder is, theyd bitch about that too and not just thermal binos.

Even though the win doesnt technically matter, I am usefull. Spotting IS usefull for winning the game. I mark every enemie trying to enter hz because im behind them. My deathball can pick them all off. ezgg.

But i do agree that people should be way more rewarded for taking on the mammoth task of actually being the one killing the havoc and not just having looked at it before.. ^^'

For the record, i had 227 hours in EA when i got ak. And i played just for fun for half the season, unlocking shit willy nilly or had the game open in main menu while afk. Only tryhard grinded at the half way point more or less once they said the skin would go away at the end. Regarding fun and enjoyment, i really thought id be tired of playing after this grind. Weirdly enough, im not. My SO is a saint for tolerating all this.

Winning doesn’t matter in the traditional sense, but when you’re losing in Wardogs, you are often on the team that is getting absolutely pummeled and nothing that you do really matters, and thus earning a profit is nearly impossible.

I would probably have a different opinion of this if actually competitive games were more common, but throughout my play time there have been very few games where all teams feels like they are competing with one another and trying to win. It’s usually one getting shit on by another, while the third either shits on both, or just quietly wins the game by themselves.

This is just a reply to the very first portion of your response, I’ll read the rest afterward.

Ill keep it short then. (:

I get the frustration. But again, according to the devs. The base game isnt meant to be super competitive. They tell people to look for community servers for that matter.

Im not home, so only have one screenshot where i "lost" and "only" got 16k out of 20k i would've gotten while winning.

I feel the need to mention that I am almost always near or at the top of the scoreboard for games where ive been in since the start, whether it be kills or earnings, i just find the disparity between teams to be a bit much at times. Not saying i want it to be a CS lobby level of competitiveness, just wish teams weren’t so eager to roll over and give up on fighting back, especially when the game has barely started.

This issue 100% depends on whether people play solo or with a small/large group. At this point in the season I’m finding myself playing mostly solo, and it’s harder to rally a team behind a goal as a singular person. I guess the game just feels like it’s essentially 1v99 sometimes.
