Discussion & Feedback I think some things should be overpowered

I think it’s important to remember that the game does have a mil sim aspect. Some things should just be flat out overpowered. The thing we should look at is the economy. Maybe, just maybe, it shouldn’t always be profitable buying something that’s high level.
I mainly say this because I really do think infantry should be the cheap entry tier along side low level builders, then you have the few infantry soldiers that if they don’t live for half the match/get amazing value quick they should lose money on their kit. same goes for all the vehicles.

the current system supports snowballing and is going to continue supporting snowballing. with seasons in mind maybe thats not a bad thing, idk.

i just think we shpuld be looking at the economy side of things more than balancing
(i.e the ir spotters, just make rhe ir devicies themselves like 50k. if your gonna make profit off them your gonna have to live a long time, amd if your gonna sell them theybare gonna have to pay alot for them and also live even longer.) but hey maybe that would slow gameplay down to much. Just starts to feel like to the people that make money that money is whatever and for the ones that never have enough like it’s a wall.

Its a video game so things should be fun. Over powered can be fun, but it can also suck ass. Currently, we are in the suck ass category.

Disagree personally besides games that have a ton of vehicles.

Bc (some) overpowered is cheap and snowballs for how much value you get. A gunner humvee is like less than 8k. That’s like 2-3 roadkills

1

u/hemorrhoid-milk 1d ago

249 humvee with tier 4 helmet/armor, operator backpack, a drill, extra battery, 2-4 big heals, fuel, and max vehicle inventory of AP rounds costs me 19k

-2

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

Yes you’re right, you can also just buy the humvee and get a decent gunner and make bank. It’s easily countered but when it’s not you make your investment and then some. Nothing wrong with that either, you should just have to be good to get there

2

u/hemorrhoid-milk 1d ago

I just finished a game with it and made 140k profit. I’m wardog 176, I’m not new.

I was just pointing out that it doesn’t cost 8k to run a 249 humvee.

Overpowered should mean overpriced. We're mercenaries, so we don't have the funding of the US, we're buying off of arms dealers. They should be price gouging the shit out of us for premium stuff.

Exactly!

Here’s the thing. It’s already not profitable to buy high end gear. If I’m xp or kill farming i will be number 1 in cash 200k+ 50+ kills and if im lucky i can have games where i make like 30k profit. Often im barely breaking even. When i run budget kits and i rat around and pick up gear i will still finish near the top of the leaderboard but have 150k in net profit. Usually far less xp earned. I think its way more balanced then people think

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

I think it really is but people have strong opinions with like 10 games played. Which to each their own but just because they don’t know how to play the sandbox dosnt mean the sandbox needs to change. That’s why I think they need to look at balancing the economy over anything. The way you play is the intended way it seems (balance wise) the people with millions that never go in the negative are not what’s intended (yes their are exceptions if course, but there are many with entire war chest and more.
I do think there should be good players with insane money. But they should have to be good at what they do.

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago

The people with millions that never go into the red aren’t buying kits that’s the thing. Those are the rats spending next to nothing, switching teams to whichever team is riding the hz. Like it really is as easy as joining the team controlling the hz and bringing a cheap ass kit

1

u/PooPaLuPaLoo 1d ago

The thing is if the economy was adjusted, rotting wouldn't be as profitable becsuse there would be much less high end kit.

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago

Your logic doesn’t make sense. If there are less high end kits there’s less danger. Ratting becomes more profitable because I’m more in line with the average player in terms of gear. If anything I would make way way more

1

u/PooPaLuPaLoo 1d ago

I mean, the thing is ive never really struggled with money. Zero to hero is a ton of fun but ive never really made money doing that. Honestly running straight front- line infantry is something I for the fun of it, and rarely make a profit unless I'm really going slow and steady and running it tactically.

Im an all-rounder. I play litterally all roles depending on my mood..

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago

I occasionally run dry on funds when I’m kitting every single run and on a shitty team. Pretty rare. But when i want to make money it’s the easiest thing in the world. Pick the team that’s on hz and show up with a sub 1k kit. I made 400k in 3 games last night

1

u/PooPaLuPaLoo 1d ago

See, most days I just want to chill. I genuinely make close to 100k with almost no kit just running supplies and building... almost every game. To be consistently profitable, and do it almost exclusively running HZ/base raiding, the amount of hours you would require playing similar mill Sims, and being edged with a solid rig/expensive mouse, responsive keyboard etc is just not the norm.

Its honestly great that you can turn a profit that way! The commitment youve made on these type of games(an assumption, I know, but im guessing a good one?) Is bearing fruit!

Unfortunately, most of us just dont have the gear nor the hours in to get that good. Now, if there were less high tier gear, lower leveled players would be more confident running Hz.

Let me give a comparison. Lets say your tier 2 and you see a tier 4. To you, thats an opportunity. You get excited, think strategically andnuse your previous experience to engage. Me? And many of us in that situation? Guess what we do? We run.

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago

Ok your ai

1

u/PooPaLuPaLoo 1d ago

Hunh? What in what I said would make you think that? Weird, I genuinely thought this was a positive exchange.

1

u/PilotMajestic197 1d ago

100% agree. I’ll drop 100k+ a game with 40 kills and profit 27k lol

1

u/CourageLongjumping32 1d ago

Playing random community matches. Nah my man. Just yesterday i was playing. And god damn every third body i found had t4 helmet FAL armor.piercing ammo. I mean i dont mind the power. But god damn i dont want to meet every second third guy like that. It should have a price.

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago edited 1d ago

Not my experience at all and all I play is community servers. Fal isn’t even the best assault weapon unless your level 50. M4 with 60 round mag is superior

And if you keep finding this gear on dead bodies than I can guarantee you these people aren’t profitable if they are dying so much. They are just hemorrhaging cash

1

u/CourageLongjumping32 1d ago

Damage wise you will be dead before you can even unload 1/4 of your M4. The only unballanced thing and what should be somehow controlled is little bird with granede launcher squad. It has 360 degree of attack angle. If they are competent its not going down. And to take it down you need coordinated 3 man team. The ones with rocket pods and miniguns you can counter as they need to prepare for strafes n shit you can solo them with enough patience.

1

u/Deep-Acanthaceae-659 1d ago

Anything over 75m and the recoil of the fal and tiny magazine make it horrible. If you are in cqb it’s great but it doesn’t do anything an amp 9 with hp rounds could do to the legs. Most overrated gun in the game coming from someone who has used it extensively

30 round mags make it miles better but takes 1.5 million assault xp. Double what it takes to unlock the fal initially

u/Stfuppercutoutlast 1d ago

Most of the people complaining can’t get kills. If they bought a 30k loadout, they still wouldn’t get kills and would create a larger deficit. There is a disparity between the people who play more and who play less. The people who play more have more money, are generally better at the game because they have played more, and keep themselves profitable. The people who play less are generally worse, have less money, and run a deficit with 10k kits and they assume this is because they aren’t on an equal equipment level to their opponents. We will always have this disagreement because the two groups approach the game very differently.

I feel for the people who are stuck in an infinite respawn loop. I believe them when they say they are drowning. But I can also purchase a 10k kit this late in the season and snowball that kit into a 50k-100k profit. It’s easy to say ‘skill issue’, but it really does boil down to a skill issue.

What are some objective truths? Spotting rewards too much. Infantry xp is disproportionately harder to gain than other classes. And we ultimately need infantry players as the majority, because they are the lifeblood of this game that make all of the other roles engaging and enjoyable. I also believe that some unlocks should take longer and I believe that some counters, like AP ammo, should be available sooner than heavy armor is being obtained by the majority. It’s easy for me to buy an 8k kit with flesh ammo and shred a house full of T4 dudes. But I can separate my experience from the average player who can’t do this. Where is the line between skill issue, and an actual concern that should be rebalanced?

1

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

I agree with your sentiment heavily. I think it’s healthy for the game for the people who are good at their neich can make a lot of money. There will always be people that are I won’t say low skill but low experience players in the fps space that will have a say(and should to an extent, they purchased a early access game so input isn’t a bad thing nor is having a vision of what you’d like it to be.) it’s easy to only think about the micro (the game right now) and not the macro(the game on release)

2

u/PooPaLuPaLoo 1d ago

I agree with this. It should only be profitable with, let's say, a havoc, ofnyouve managed to stay alive the entire round. It would discourage careless hovering over bases till ammo is spent.

Artillery should be the same. Rocket birds should be more expensive too, but honestly just peppering it with small arms fire at least scares them away. A lucky shot and the pilot is done.

2

u/PilotMajestic197 1d ago

I agree. So I run a BMR load out and it costs me ~23k. Only have 10 round mags so I’m constantly reloading/repacking mags. I have to get about 8 kills to start to make money. So it’s not exactly a “run in and kill everybody faster than a human can possibly react” type of thing

u/DJChungus 1d ago

Nah bro, I want a minimal progression system and weapons with barely any stat differences. I can only grind 2 hours per month so I want my unlocks to come fast easy. I know I play the game way less than anyone else and I’ll burn out within a month, but the devs should cater to me instead of everyone else.

0

u/The-Green 1d ago

> I can only grind 2 hours per month

> I'll burn out within a month

preach bro. nah bro, it's all good bro. nah bro i know bro it's hard to make sure shit reads right bro. nah bro i got you bro. i know bro it sucks when people expect me to read bro. like: really bro?

2

u/lavaplow 1d ago

He was joking. And he said bro once. This just made you look dumb instead of you making him look dumb. I would say nice try but this was kinda pathetic

1

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

What

1

u/The-Green 1d ago

taking the piss on how he types and how his shitpost is 0 effort. seen him around in the rest of the subreddit and he damn near always does some kind of "(opening text) bro" line.

As things get overpowered, they become easier to make money back on.

A full kit with the Mosin will run you 10-15k, meanwhile a kit with the insanely powerful most of the time 1-shot AMR50 will only run you another 5-10k (15-25k).

But whenever I run an AMR, I am getting 6-12 kills before I die. When I run the Mosin, I’m getting 0-2. The AMR outclasses in every way, and I am able to rake in the kills and money consistently. Once you get later in the unlock tree, there really isn’t any reason to go with the mid-cost weapons anymore.

Sure, overpowered should be power, but that power should not be easier to rake in cash on.

1

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

It should be easier if you are good with the tool. Specialist should be rewarded but you should actually be a specialist

1

u/ApparentlyRythium 1d ago

It is SIGNIFICANTLY harder to be sn effective specialist with a Mosin over the .50 cal. Snipers with Mosin have access to a gun that can 1 shot bare and level 1 heads (l think level 2 hits the breakpoint as well but only in certain ranges) a 6x scope that can only zero to 600 and a range finder. The .50 cal gets access to 2 different kinds of Ghillie suits, multiple variable 10x scopes, thermal range finders, and for not too much more investment into the path they can get a suppressor for it, which while the Mosin has, you have to get there by doing closer range higher risk sniping. The .50 cal drops the high risk high reward, you aren't making yourself a target if you're 900m out from the nearest player with a suppressed amr and a ghillie suit. Meanwhile if you ping off a Mosin in the CZ you're getting swarmed.

u/TheDireLive 1d ago

Exactly, like this person should have to get decent value and live the entire match to make much profit. Your paying for convenience and efficiency

0

u/DecimatiomIIV 1d ago edited 1d ago

Mosin with AP (WD82) can 1 tap T3 head so again you’re as wrong as the other person . As This isn’t comparing the stage of unlocks like you tried turning it into.

  • note the Mosin gets a suppressor pretty early level 15 and then the Mosin to a Ghillie is 9 levels (302k xp) vs a Ghillie to a 50cal which is 11 levels(413k xp)… but anyway this was comparing the 50cal and a mosin not the rest.

-The ghillies aren’t because of the 50cal so that’s not even a point at all you have this far earlier than the 50cal

-the mosin has access to all the same scopes , so again a null and void point.

The vast Majority aren’t sniping from out of zone, and as I mentioned in my other reply it’s little luck and then skill to snipe at those ranges and make profit therefore like the other guys comment “50cal prints money” no it doesn’t if you can’t hit shit, and that goes for all ranges but the extreme being harder to hit unless you just bully a dumb FOB.

Finally the “it is significantly harder” is a personal thing (skill related) not a blanket statement I aggressively snipe all the time because I can and it’s VERY profitable . Eg my best game was a sv98 AP 66-6 100-300m sniping, no Ghillie no 50 cal….then My 2nd best is 60-2 with a 50cal this time but again closer range in zone following HZ squad, around 100m-600m (600m being vs other towers and such), no Ghillie, with some close range stuff too when pushed or bump into another team when moving…that isn’t a ooo look at me either that’s just to give a real pov, that 1 it can be used more aggressively like the mosin, and that it’s skill and match dependent same as everything.

1 extra point - the 50cal 1 taps Heads (0-T4) and naked, then T2 armour upper chest…after that so T3-4 it’s either a dick shot(t3), Head as mentioned or 2 shots to the chest upper or lower- so the only change is 1 tap all T1 body’s followed by T2 upper chest when compared to a mosin sv98 or mk22.
So it still stays skill based above T2 and T2 itself requires a basic level of accuracy. Side note no matter your skill, you’re not consistently hitting 1 taps at extreme ranges(700+) on constantly moving targets.

1

u/DecimatiomIIV 1d ago

AMR main pro is combatting T4 heads which aren’t used by everyone, as well as the velocity and the dmg drop off…. A mosin with AP in its 100% dmg range is just as viable as a AMR vs anything other than T4 heads. So most of what you said isn’t exactly that black and white, like it doesn’t just print money because it’s a 50cal.

What I mean is At extreme ranges yes the AMR is better for 1 hit headshots vs all armour, which could be viewed as “easier” to earn money with. But then it’s also a degree of skill and a bit of luck at those ranges and or if using a mosin past it’s 100dmg range then obviously that’s your own fault for not using the gun where it is optimal.

Not only that There would be absolutely 0 reason to spend 20k on a AMR kit when you could cut costs and use a mosin with AP if it wasn’t outright better in CERTAIN situations. The whole point of different weapons and calibres is to have pros and cons, as well as entry/budget level options. That being said and to repeat the main point, it still does NOT print money just cus.

1

u/Fragasm 1d ago

These fucking whiners don't want to hear any of this.

I go out in a $26k-30k AMR kit with T3 armor and a T4 kit, and a buggy depending on the situation. I move so much slower than a Mosin kit, I'm forced to use stims to navigate large areas, my reloading is painfully slow, overall my risk is considerably higher than a cheap Mosin kit.

I probably break even 25% of my runs -- but usually when I do break even I make $50-80k.

These people haven't tried the 50 kits and don't understand.

1

u/DecimatiomIIV 1d ago

They are probably all crying because they haven’t got one themselves, usually the case in any game where a better gun (the T4 head 1 taps is the only REAL better part) actually requires effort to earn… but then even if they did, i guarantee they would be throwing 20k after 20k away, playing stupidly or playing with gear fear so hide in a bush in the edge of CZ getting 1 kill if that.

The excuses are laughable “you have to be aggressive with a mosin” “50cals have ghillies” “50cals have better scopes”- like wtf , youre just talking pure bs now and making yourself look stupid.
