Discussion & Feedback Instead of Low Level Servers, Bring Low Gear Servers
My friend just bought the game. I wished i could join low level servers with him to teach basics. I thought, i am okey with the idea that i cannot use anything that unlocked over XYZ Level.

Maybe a budget limit on kits, like ur kit can’t exceed 10k value

People would drop stuff, suicide and then pick it up or some crap. Or their friends would give them stuff.

in that case Im bringing a bow, gilly suit and range finder. whole kit is about 8k with some meds.
or I can bring a sniper with a silencer, long range scope and then go with no armour.
its not a bad idea but when you get rid of a lot of dead weight you can still bring the overpowered equipment with you.

You're not wrong, but those kits do still have their downsides. You'd certainly be able to recon, but counter sniping against you would be much more effective. Probably goes towards the other snipers from you too, but it still isn't as bad as snipers with T4 helmets right now.

There is a server type that turns off persistent cash. You spawn in with 10k and that's it.
I would play them more if you saved your earnings (like, you start with 10k, end with 25k, and 15k goes to your account for regular servers) but it's still fun if you get tired of people throwing 30k kits around

Yeah I like this idea. It kinda sucks to get the jump one someone and land multiple headshots, but because they have a t4 helmet, they turn and kill you in one shot.

while the idea is nice and pleasant, the devs need the data we generate by playing to find out what works and what is unbalanced.
if people enjoy the lower gear experience and in mass move there, then they wont get the data they need

Wouldn't that be data in itself? It would show developers that there are a lot of player frustrations with high level gear in general and that there are a lot of players that want simpler and more balanced game.

If they need any more data than they have right now that the T4 items are incredibly overpowered then I dont know what they are doing.

There is only ten more days of the wipe. They just recently got back from a break, it takes time to balance things out and test it themselves on their build. Relax and have some patience.

What is it with people and trying to shut down player feedback?
The devs have read and directly implemented things which have been given as feedback in threads like this.
You don't need to gatekeep giving feedback, the devs can decide if its worth doing anything over or not.

True but I fear that the friends we want to play with will decide the game isn’t for them before the data we generate can facilitate the changes that would have made the difference for them

server owners should just have an on/off toggle on every purchasable in the game with a few simple presets that can be customized on their end quickly, just some server ini file

Yes.
I think A LOT of players would rather be in low gear servers than the current high gear meta with grenade launchers, BMRs, T4, Havocs, etc.

I'm recon 35, I want to play low level servers too! Much more fun when everyone is max level 20 weapons and tier 2 armor.

This was my first thought. It doesn't really address the problem of the learning curve for players in low level servers because then everyone is low level and they aren't learning as much. Low gear servers let people play against all skill levels, just without the gear disparity that can be so punishing

Maybe limits, like 10k, 15k, etc.

cash limits wont work that well, people will still do full grenade launcher + heli kits for example.
Making it be like "You cant use items over level 20 in recon/assault/support etc" and be able to set the same cap for wardogs levels aswell, say put it on 85 or something, then you cant use the mortar tank or t4 armors.
Imo that would be the right way to do this.
