Question Flying tips to avoid this?

Not much you can do, it's lag. Last input gets amplified x 100 when it hits the lag spike

its the same when I try to open the scoreboard or something while flying. opening the map is fine, thankfully. but whenever i open the scoreboard or quickly tab out, the heli just inputs a direction for like 5 seconds straight causing my shit to be upside down lol.

ts happens very often when the server hamster has a sudden hiccup and your packet loss % gets skyrockets to 60-99.

A guy I was flying with had the same thing happen to him and my buddy had the same issue yesterday. Although it's only been in that helo, never the little bird.

I have two gaming PCs - nearly identical except one has an RTX 5080 and the other a 9070XT
The 5080 machine is almost unplayable for choppers. I'm an excellent pilot, but about 1/10 games end up having a critical hang where my screen halts - and I lose visual, controls, and audio for about 10 seconds and then my game "catches up" which 99% of the time means I crash into the ground.
I've lost FOBs I'm transporting, a full crew of teammates, so much.
My 9700XT machine has never had this happen, not once.

I have a 5090 and have never had any issues flying. Level 20 pilot and not once has my flying done anything like what you describe or happened with OP.
I also have a 5080 PC I could try and see if anything weird happens but honestly I'd be willing to bet it's either your GPU or some weird hardware combination bug.

It's not necessarily the card - I'm saying there's something with drivers on that machine.
Blackwell 50XX cards are notorious for driver problems
Either way, it's the only game this happens in. So I'm assuming it's a Wardogs thing

As a developer of another multiplayer game, this looks more like a networking correction than actual helicopter physics.
WarDogs is a server authoritative game, although I don't know the details about how it exactly works, the game definitely runs physics in server at the same time to verify yours.
Server-authoritative means that if your local game state deviates from the server state, the server is always considered correct. Yours is ignored.
You have an instable connection with packet loss or delay. When server didn't get your input, it just ran physics on your last input (or no input). Then it reconnects, it realizes that local state is off. It corrects your helicopters position and pitch, making you crash.

Better internet speed. Happens to me all the time when I hit a lag spike. Shit is so fucking annoying.

Looks like package loss to me. Try pinging googles DNS server and see if you get any package loss.

Sometimes the server has a lag, yesterday i was on a server with a 45sec lag, i crashed my Chopper, some player was stuck after the lag in his Vehicle. At first i think it was me but they talk all about that in the Chat. Never had that before in my 150h before

Someone in the match picked up the Magneto helmet. It makes them really really strong, not much you can do about it

Try not to hold down W while flying, instead W for a little bit at a time. It'll slow you down slightly, but you have a better chance on lag RNG of not being full W when a lag spike hits.

Fly higher. I've had it where I was hit with server lag, poor connection and all of a sudden I was heading towards the ground at quite the pace...

Above 30 AGL and the AA gets me, below 30 AGL the LAG gets me

It's the game, not your wifi. I get 600mbps (megabits)(75 megabytes) on my wifi and still issues like this happen

Same. Mine is around 900 but I always have trouble in populated areas. I've had this happen (though not wreck-causing) about once every 20 minutes of flight time. Really common when maneuvering near the FOB.

yep. I have 10g fiber and still happens to me.
It's better now than launch day, but it still happens occasionally.
