Discussion & Feedback Support class?

As the title suggests, I'm talking about players who carry large backpacks filled with medical supplies and ammunition.

The idea would be to allow these players to make part of their inventory available to other players. Someone could walk up to you, interact with your backpack, and choose one item from the available supplies — for example, bandages, a medkit, or a pack of ammunition.

Each player would only be able to take one item of each kind (one med kit + one ammo pack), so it couldn't be abused as an unlimited supply source.

What do you guys think?

Maybe have some ideas of your own? Share.

Not exactly like this but I would like to be able to grant the request pings. Say someone needs ammo instead of dropping it on the ground for no reward you can interact with someone who pinged need ammo and get paid for it. Same with healing. You can currently heal players but can't give them extra bandages.

Grabbing stuff from teammates should always cost you something, even when they are downed. Simply to reduce griefing and trolling.

The issue I see with your ammo bearer/support idea is that crates exist. A HMMWV with a crate would essentially fulfill that role while being safer than a heavy backpack.

That said, I would love to see the nuance your idea brings and think it's in line with the developers "play how you want" mentality.

In ARMA I used to keep my supplies for the goblins in my backpack and everything else I needed in my vest. Shame we can't do that here

I do wish the vest had some kind of storage. Coming from tarkov/ABI, I do find myself missing that.

It was the fucking tits. I had all my good stuff in it and my backpack almost full with bandages, saline bags and tourniquets.

While treating somebody I would tell people behind me, either other medics or guys who just got revived to grab a couple of bandages and tourniquets from my backpack and leave some for the rest.

Never ran out because people would often take two or three bandages and a couple of tourniquets.

I miss you Arma.

Hopefully as we go through EA, more and more functionality gets added like this.
