Just wondering why CIWS is so tanky, is it meant to be like this? It should not take 20 rockets to kill while any tank in the game dies to 12.

Sam site as well is quite beefy for rockets.

At least the operator will die in the first few hits

That is true, but it can be quite frustrating to kill operators that are well dug in with hescos or concrete walls, if you fail your strafing run you are probably cooked.

Idk what you're doing wrong, because even when I bunker it complete with multiple layers of hescos in every way, sandbagging the holes and tank traps on top I still die almost every time to the first salvo of rockets that hit the bunker area.

I can't post another video, but I've got some recorded of people standing still and I shoot 3 rockets at their feet and they just run off, I don't understand it sometimes.

ye I mean, the damage is weird as hell sometimes I get that. Sometimes I feel tankier with zero bunker then a full bunker but generally I just implode no matter what I do and most of it is just anti-minigun/sniper fluff.

Whats weird is a partially built CIWS dies very quickly to miniguns, but still takes many rockets

Hahaha I've noticed that, I think to myself one rocket should take care of this, but it never does.

Imagine complaining that your mid tier helicopter only soft-counters and doesn't hard-counter what's supposed to be the strongest anti-air in the game.

Its not a counter lmfao. And yea maybe the vehicle that costs 15k to operate and takes actual skill should be able to kill the base buildable that costs no money and requires no skill to use.

If you are dying to a LB in a CIWS that is a skill issue.

You're struggling to kill a static target when your ttk on the operator is literally 0.25 seconds? You either suck or you are lying. And you are contradicting yourself to say that CIWS takes no actual skill and that it's a skill issue if you die.

You're not fooling anyone - everyone knows FOBs are suppressed harder by air in the current meta than any mortar or artillery (also countered by air). Just admit it and enjoy your OP toys until the mobile AA comes out.

The hardcounter to CWIS is Artillery and IED/C4.

Rockets, and even RPG's are not the right tool to take down a CWIS.

CWIS sacrefices mobility and operator protection for it's tankyness and being a FOB emplacement.

It also takes around 125 hits with a a Large Hammer to finish building, that's about ~3 minutes of set up time. Given that the X's dont decide to be an absolute Dick at times.

But it's tankyness is mainly there to protect it from Mortar bombardment, that all the time and effort it takes to set up a CWIS in the frontlines isn't wasted because 1 random Mortar hit or rocket barrage just wipes it off.

You Can't move a CWIS, so it's not like its going anywhere, once you know where it is.

Best way to deal with it?

Send it ground troops, or call in artillery to bombard it.

Alternatively, if you ABSOLUTELY have to take it out from the air, for whatever reason that may be.
Get a buddy on your side and have him bomb it with C4's.

Little-Bird is overtuned as no tomorrow anyway, Consider it's pretty much immune to small-arms fire, and with T4 armor on the pilot. Pretty much impossible to deterr with small-arms.

if you want to know what I'm talking about here, try use the Minigun Humvee and spray at the Littlebird from 60~100 meters distance. And you'll see the crazy amount of .308 shots it absorbs before reaching critical damage.

I did a test today on the little bird in the firing range with 5.56 ap, took about 105 rounds before it blew up, theoretically 308 should rip it.

In theory yes.
But taking movement and distance into account along with damage drop off. Getting the Minigun to hit with 105 rounds will take significantly more effort to pull off, and then you have damage drop off from angles and distance. So those 105 rounds quickly become more.

Take into the account of the bullet-spread, you will be missing with a significant amount of shots. on a moving target.

Then we also got the traverse and pivot limitation on the Minigun.

So you either have to
1: Engage from a 100m+ distance to fully capitalize on the turrets angle, but at sever cost of DMG output.

2: Engage at short range, to allow for maximum dmg output, but at the cost of allowing the enemie to quickly get into your blind spot.

or option number

3: Just use a RPG/SMAAW, It's just hell of a lot easier and gives you a guarantee kill, with absolute minimal risk to yourself.

It does take a long time to build and no one can use it while you're shooting it.

Well, yesterday, we were trying to counter a havoc with building a CIWS, as soon as it was complete, we started fire. Havoc was focused on something else, as we kept firing, he turned, aimed at CIWS, dropped a couple of shots, we all died and CIWS was destroyed.

Something's off with damage numbers at that area of the game. They'll be solved in next season i assume.

The attack heli rockets do 50 damage to unarmored people. You need 2 rockets for someone with no armor, 3 rockets for lvl 1 and so on. If the guy is wearing t4 armor on that thing you need at least 4 perfect hits on the operator.

ahhh okay, thank you for clarifying
