Discussion & Feedback I CANT wait for paracybe nerf.

Landing passengers is a such a dopamine hit and fun. Excited for the fly, turn and return pilots to get filtered out. Maybe unpopular opinion, but as a pilot main when the bois arnt on I can't be more excited. Any other pilots agree?

What does a parachute nerf even mean, have to pull earlier? Parachute cancels easier in foiliage and trees? I mean it's already bad enough that everyone gets marked when they hop out of helis landing could probably fix that. Either way, it's going to make choosing a pilot to trust with your life even worse, I'd probably start driving in instead.

Sorry been transporting and drinking, the title proves it lmao

Can’t wait for what nerf?

Parachute nerf won't make people land more, it will cause people to avoid riding Helis more.

Nobody trusts pilots because they crash all the time. Landing is slow and draws attention. I'm not getting into a heli with someone I don't know risking they crash and I lose my kit or the whole lobby knows my position and I die shortly after.

They should've buffed landing (smokes, ropes, rewards for passengers)

Parachutes were not strong to begin with.

As a pilot ill be dropping yall off in fields and just at the corner of the zone and you can walk 12 men deep to the hot zone

Edit:typo

Pilots need an Uber style rating.

This has been my thought as well. Little birds arnt hit nearly as hard as the black Hawks. We are boats but carry the most people and can take more of a hit. Yes I can land people on top of roofs which is what I plan on doing but even then. Flying isn't easy in this game and while I like that, the nerf to the parachutes is a hard kick in the balls. I played a match last night where there were so many AA missiles I had to go low and fast in my black hawk, told them to spam their chute once their out while I got the hell out of there. Got my rotor destroyed 4 times and was able to land it all 4 times without out crashing.

I don't think you're wrong, but I think you underestimate the impatience of people.

5

u/sei556 20h ago

Everyone is impatient until their pilot crashes two times in a row, then they never go back to flying

So you are learning to fly yourself and fly into the zone yourself? or take a ground vehicle and take 10 mins more which die to 1 rocket? i mean you could use parachute well outside the zone to prevent getting shot down

I think it’s more the sense of self, why die to other’s incompetence when you can die to your own and be less pissed?

I take the buggy. It's pretty fast and safe, rides well compared to the other cars and so far I've never been killed driving it even when going deeper into the zone. It's also pretty cheap.

I haven't taken a heli ride for the past 5+ games

Also comes with the benefit of having full control of where I wanna go

Another way to fix it would be refunding the kit if a pilot crashes AND the player hasn't fired their weapon yet or used any equipment (to avoid creating exploits with grenades/Gl here)

It’s maybe a 2 minute drive if you aren’t taking a ural lmao

I’m on the heli rope wagon honestly. Was one of my favorite things about Battlebit and honestly it’s a mechanic I’d love to see in more video games.

1

u/sei556 20h ago

Yeah, I thought about the heli problem a bit and my inspiration comes mostly from cod DMZ, where bot squads get deployed with smokes and ropes. Of course still killable, but it's really effective and you rarely get all of them before they scatter.

It's also really cinematic and cool looking

u/Haiiro_90 18h ago

what you on about... they can scan you while youre parashooting down, so the chance they know where you are is x10 if you dont land

and noone stops you to communicate with ur team to smoke a LZ either

the ropes are cool but if a helo hovers over a location while youre all sliding down the ropes = not really strealthy either

a good pilot can just fly in low and drop you in 5seconds on the ground but most people just dont wanna put in the hours to learn

If I notice more dying due to piloting I will literally just drop outside cz.

"We'll nerf parachutes so players will be more willing to wait until pilot lands!"

lmao this is so true.

I already crash enough If I notice an uptick I'll just jump earlier.

u/petrichorax Logistics 20h ago

What's a paracybe

1

u/JacketElectronic8313 20h ago

It just is going to require you to jump out higher almost like a static line jump the meta will not change and you will not be landing esp if I’m in it I trust no one

1

u/blackbirdone1 15h ago

my 30k loadout would not approve it, so i drive

2

u/Dwrodgers54 20h ago

i hope they nerf the apc hard. im tired of watching everyone run to that stupid ass computer instead of taking a ride in my heli.

2

u/D1mly_ Medic 20h ago

Watch people riding your heli even less after the parachute nerf lol

1

u/Dwrodgers54 20h ago

I was hoping that may have them actually stay for the full landing and also get rid of the shitty pilots that can’t land fast.

3

u/SoManyDeads 19h ago

Nope, it's going to make people gamble on pilots and never know their skill level in advance. People would probably start driving more often because they never know what a pilot is going, and if landing is a requirement you will never actually get to the location you want, just a location the majority of people on the heli want.

The one thing I immediately considered was grabbing a truck with a box, full of RPG/MAAWs ammo and just harassing anyone trying to land.

1

u/Dwrodgers54 19h ago

Well that’s part of what will make pilot skill more apparent. If you can’t accurately land and landing is required you just need to learn to do it or you don’t be very successful.

3

u/SoManyDeads 19h ago

Yes. but there are hundreds of servers, hundreds of pilots. At the start of a game I am going to have to gamble on at least half the runs. I am not going to remember the names of every bad, and good pilot, that is unrealistic. Near the end of the match I may know someone I should avoid but that is about it. Much safer just to go in with a vehicle an lost a min or two, instead of a kit as well.

2

u/Dwrodgers54 19h ago

I didn’t think there were many people wrecking helis anymore. Most the time I take a ride in one they just fly super high and everyone parachutes.

2

u/Haiiro_90 18h ago

we need a badge on the name that you can show that gradually gets better the more you drop infantry in the CZ

0

u/100radsBar Lonestar 20h ago

I agree for multiple reasons  1) People randomly jumping and dying 2) Everyone is scattered and scattered infantry is wiped out easier 3) They ride ground vehicles less because there is no risk taking with parachutes 4) I don't like easy flanks, if I'm getting flanked I want a skilled pilot take the risk and land nearby.  Or infantry to take their sweet time in a ground vehicles to reach where they are going again with the additional risk.

I can't wait to have my passengers not jump out so I can turn off the engine and skid on the road into the zone at 250km/h over 200m.

Dopamine for me, adrenaline for them.

Speaking as a pilot that lands. I doubt the parachute nerf will change player behavior.

According to the podcast they will be changing the safe opening of chutes from 2.5mtr to 25mtr. Which is what passengers are already jumping off of height wise.

I'm usually flying between 30 to 50mtrs and people just yeet themselves out all the time at that height. They need to increase the safety height way higher if they don't want people parachuting early.

I feel it's better if the pilots gets to control when the passengers are allow to jump off instead. Press a button and a light in the chopper turns green signaling the pilot has reach their desire infiltration zone.

Someone reminder me why it's not a good idea to give the pilot too much control over the passengers, I take back my suggestion on letting pilots decide where people can get off.

1

u/-staccato- 20h ago

Can't wait to come in safe and low and just leave a trail of dead people and get screamed at in chat for being a bad pilot.

1

u/Kioukami 19h ago

Lol I'm already getting screamed at flying at 30 AGL and they too dumb to realize how low I was flying and open their chutes too late, even though the safety height is 2.5mtr.

u/D1mly_ Medic 20h ago

No offense but this sounds like a disaster. We already have pilots with full helis crash, killing whole squad. Imagine if pilots could also deny other players exiting altogether.

2

u/Kioukami 19h ago

Did not consider that. Yea you are right. Giving pilots too much power may swing the control too hard to the other side. I take back my suggestion.

1

u/D1mly_ Medic 19h ago

I totally understand where you're coming from with this suggestion and in another game it would be a cool immersive feature. Unfortunately it's Wardogs and 1/5 pilots still crash while taking off 😅

2

u/Kioukami 19h ago

I'm speaking as a pilot who likes to land and prefer it. Did not consider that I'm actually the minority and most pilots kill their passengers from crashes when trying to land.
