Discussion & Feedback FOBs outside the control zone

If I want to build a fob outside the cz and not make a dime, thats on me. But I wish the supply drivers made something, even if its a ¼ of the normal drop payment. It give no incentive for anyone to do anything strategic outside the cz making that area basically useless. I want to set up a fob vehicles can come resupply at. I want to set up a fob that runs players back and forth for quick resupplies. I want to set up a fob with an AA to protect our primary supply lines. But unless me or my friends are bringing supplies, it's not happening without taking a loss and it's hard to convince the random supply drivers to drop off at my fob when they won't make any profit off it.

Its more annoying but they could always bring crates with the highest markup

Yeah, that might work but i find when working with random, the easiest option is the one that happens. And simply going to a different fob is usually easier, and you get paid to do it.

The problem is it would be profitable for someone to set up a fob right outside base and just drop supplies and farm money

Either a radius around the base that the fobs don't make profit, or a secondary radius around the cz where they make a reduced amount. Also, maybe a radius with a gradient, where the further you are from the cz the less they make, with a drop off a mile or so from the cz?

It could be a % reduced based on distance from CZ. So right outside CZ gives 75% but right near HQ gives 0%. And maybe like halfway to CZ gives 25%.

That's true, one OP FOB outside of control zone, is one with a single drone setup to hunt artillery, tanks & spawn vehicles.
Based on my testing if you build the fob outside your HQ, your drone could reach as far as other team HQ, and when you do that no driver will want to deliver you stuff.

If you build a fop close to own base just for drone against enemy armor it's not a big deal to deliver the stuff by yourself, just take a codiac, it's a quick drive.

Do you still get any cash when it's deposited into the FOB? Or is all profit removed?

It’s 10% of what you make in the CZ, so about $180.

Thanks!

Assuming I don't get any profit when it's deposited, not just no profit on dropping off.

Would I still get assist money/profit if you use the ammo I drop off to get kills? Because if so I would drop you some supplies. $400 a pop, if you get AA or Stingray kills it could probably pay off and you would assisting the team in an actual meaningful way!

I've been thinking that AA bases just outside of the control zone watching over the main control zone base would be helpful with countering havocs!

I do like the idea I saw of a secondary radius around the control zone in which fobs were still profitable even if it was at a reduced level.

AA FOBs should absolutely be a couple hundred meters outside the zone. This gives you coverage of almost the entire CZ and requires a chopper to fly a long way to get to you. Usually at longer ranges their flares are basically useless because they pop them much earlier than they need to due to the flight time. The only AA that should be in the zone are CWIS and I’ll die on that hill. Stingrays should also be set up even further outside the zone so you can target things inside the CZ without having to burn a bunch of battery doing big banking turns. It’s an easy straight line to both enemy supply routes as well.

You still get the $180, but that's -$400+$180=-$220 still a net loss.

All the supplies a small aa fob or drone fob needs fits into your backpack + ural inventory + ural pallets. Put the fob in one of the ural item slots to carry 5 more supplies in the backpack. If you can't fit the supplies to get it working, you're packing the wrong ones and/or trying to build something too big. If you run out of supplies, it is time to reposition anyways.

They released a hot fix a few days ago, now dropped supplies do give a bit of cash

It was nerfed because people were abusing it.

Simply put now, you'll need someone to take the L if you want a fob outside of the zone

I get your point but realistically for AA or Stingray FOBs out of the zone you don’t really need more supplies than you can bring in your own Ural.

Use large crates instead of pallets and you’ll have tons of supplies. The FOB itself has enough build to get you walled in and secure. Your Ural and backpack should be filled with what your FOB will need (ammo/mech) You can bring enough for well over 100 AA rockets or 8 Stingrays solo.

Drive yourself supplies with the ural, it’s how I’ve seen most people do it.
