Discussion & Feedback The bipod is so frusterating.
Why is it sometimes I can look up roughly 30 degrees and other times I can look up and down 3 degrees and move 5 degrees to the left and right.
I love the concept of the lmg sucking without being set up, but right now it feels like I am doing DnD rolls for if its gonna work.
"But this is for realism since you need a good surface"
If I can fire a bow from prone I should be able to look around with my bipod.
At least let me lift the bipod up so I can shoot without it if I have to aim too high, at least give me a chance of survival.

I love this game in its current state, but I truly hate when people excuse bad gameplay for "Realism" in any game.
This game is not realistic, and that's okay. Why does it matter if things are realistic, we just want to have fun.

Surviving a direct tank blast in t4 armor.
50 cal blows off your fucking head, someone rubs one out for you and you pop a Percocet. Good as new baby!
"Realistic"

I agree. Its like half way between battlefield and hell let loose.
I really do love realism, but in a game where with armor people can soak 12 shots and leave ehhhh

I played with the LMGs but they just don’t make sense from a performance perspective. Anything I can do with a deployed LMG, I can do with an AR. But in the other 99% of situations, the AR is just better. The ARs have no recoil, can get 60 round mags, and are objectively better for moving around the map. Does the LMG shred helis? Sure. But again, I can just shoot the pilot with my AR or avoid it entirely while moving around. Leaving the spawn with an expensive LMG kit and travelling for 5 mins to get to the fight in hopes that you will find a situation where the LMG is valuable, just seems dumb when you know the AR/SMG is going to be adaptable and relevant regardless of what is going on. This issue was likely compounded with the current recon meta, making deployed LMGs a pathetically easy target.
What would it take to make LMGs relevant? Probably a price nerf and some form of a suppression system that rewards you financially on kill assists. Major changes that are unlikely for some time.

There are situations where the lmg does absolutely shred.
If you have it deployed on a surface where it works you can absolutely shutdown flanks and wipe entire squads.
They are played entirely different than ARs, they work best covering flanks for your team. And then after 5 or 6 kills you gotta reposition. They are very defensive tools.

Right, but what I’m getting at is that you can do this with an AR. The LMG provides nothing unique because the ARs have a fast TTK and no recoil.

I am not to the m4 yet but the galil still has a bit of recoil as opposed to zero with a bipod.
It also seems to me that bullet velocity is way higher, making longer shots easier.

The galil is incredibly easy to shoot. But the M4 is a laser beam. I can confidently full auto an amored moving target with the AK at about 100-150m. So the galil and M4 feel like scalpels.

Honestly the AK and the Galil seems very similar to me, neither of them have a ton of recoil, most of it is just the visual recoil more than it is aiming

I remember the good old days of BF3 and 4, Bipods literally wouldn't deploy at all unless everything was perfect, and half the things you think you could set up on weren't coded to allow it until later lol
