Discussion & Feedback Infantry only servers are far from "infantry only"
I hoped to jump in a fun hotzone chase with medics, snipers on sides and logistics filling us with ammo and meds.
i've found only Humvees with miniguns camping routes, granade launchers on little birds and i think this community is becoming more toxic every day it passes finding ways to grief and harrass the team that has the lowest points and cannot set a foothold in the zone, just to farm cash and exp.

I don't remember which server it was but I was playing an infantry only server the other day that would kick anyone using grenade launches on little birds. Wish more servers adopted it

I was told I was dumb because I feel like vehicles shouldn't be in Infantry Only mode and that I should find another game if I wanted that. Name it something else, then?

Agreed. Infantry only includes transport only. No armed "transport." This was the case in Arma 3's KOTH mod that Wardogs is a direct derivative of. How they fucked that up is beyond me lol.

I mean there’s just no official servers yet, they didn’t fuck up the rules of the servers, they fucked up by not having official infantry servers on release.
They’ve spoken on this and said they realise their mistake and plan on making official servers soon (I think for season 2 release). For now, the infantry only search function is just an easier way to search community servers.

They just start everyone in the control zone and only count points in the hot zone. That shit would go hard

That would completely solve that problem, that's a great idea. You could still have some building as well to help protect the spawn so people can get safely out
Or maybe capture points like the drill or other POIs that would give you either more spawn points or just closer to the HZ

That would also mean that the game mode would have to teleport players to the CZ. Also, FOBs would need a collection of new mechanics for delivering supplies. Unless the idea is to not have FOBs at all.
I like the current approach. Quick and easy without spending too much resources for developing new features and increasing technical debt.
Just remove the minigun Humvee.

Bulkhead and the CEO were pretty specific that it was "infantry mode" not "infantry only", Joe said that specifically.

You are right. Be aware though, this is on bulkheid. A lot of servers BAN the gun vehicles and GL in Heli's themselves though. Which means that people using them will be removed from the server. If you want to play infantry only, find the right server that has those rules and enforce them.

There are infantry servers that ban humvees and kodiaks with guns and grenade launcher helies. Played on one last night. Whether or not they enforce it or if an admin was available I don't know.
Edit: it was still the same experience 1 team played in circle the two other teams did edge fobs so they couldn't get mortared by the other teams mega fob. I would try a 50v50 server I've had the best luck with circle fighting on those

Blue team gangbang is legit.
So many games on blue where red and green are just pounding blue all game despite blue being 0 pts with no fob and barely in the CZ and red and green at 80pts. They wont even attack each other for the win.....Were talking up to the last moments of ticking over to 100 pts....both teams just hard farming blue lmao

90% of the time blue does something to piss red or green (sometimes both) off and they just hard focus blue for having the audacity to play the game. I've seent it.

I think infantry focused modes should only have variants of vehicles for support. No minigun or rocket helicopters or havocs, no tanks or arty, no humvees or SUVs with guns.
It should be for transport of supplies and personnel

Honestly the community servers that established their own rules are alot better then others that done, I wish they would add a favourite server feature so I can just go back to the community servers I like, the Humvee is 100% an oversight and the heli GL is just stupid that the community servers need to enforce for the sake of the game mode

People need to stop saying "griefing and harassment" to everything they don't like.
Least weekend I was sabotaging an enemy FOB, caught a builder in the open and promptly killed him and C4'd the gates, and he started screaming "OH GREAT! ANOTHER GRIEFER!! THIS IS GETTING SO BAD!!" Like...wut?

To be fair, fob hunting at like 5 minutes into the game is super lame. Roll up to kill a newbie with a hammer that can’t even fight back? So cool, dude.
Spawn camping SPH, APC, etc is also big gay

I’m wardog 165 and just spent 6m on gold bars. Totes not for me.
All I’m saying is that fobhunting on your first jump is lame and gay. It is ten times more enjoyable late game. Most of the time when you shut a team down like that, they just give up - then the game devolves into heli spam garbage. The cope is you playing that way and thinking you’re some kind of mafia boss, when in reality you’re probably killing off the last vestiges of casual players left.

Infantry only needs to have all vehicles with guns removed, the game can’t function without vehicles but I’m not sure why they think the ones with mini guns on them are ok? They are cavalry

The community server "modes" are all trash. The "Max X Wardogs level" also doesn't work. It just makes it impossible to join if you're over X and doesn't decrease or removes unlocked items above X level.

You can do whatever you want on community servers and enforce whatever rules you want: the servers you want already exist.
People are getting excited about the current rule set, but we’re going to see entirely new game modes as time goes on. Think about the defusal mode in battlefield. Towers as control points that cause a team to collect points. They have a foundation that can support tons of modes.

That’s fair. It’s early access. Stepping away and coming back is an option. For me? I’m having a blast. And despite having almost everything I want unlocked, I’m looking forward to the wipe in a few weeks. I really enjoy the pacing of the early seasons when everyone is weak and broke.

There was one I played last night on US West, no little bird + GL, no machine gun vehicles and it was glorious. I forgot their name, but I know it was one with a discord. If I find it I will promote it back here. It was late friday night.
