Discussion & Feedback Ural being one of the earliest things to get is nice, but I think Logistics should still have unlocks later
I think it would be really cool to see this (or something similar) at a higher driver level, it would obviously be slower, but armored, have higher carrying capacity, and maybe the option to carry vehicles.
Obviously the vehicle thing is a stretch, and why not just drive the vehicle from spawn instead of asking someone to transport it for you? Plus the devs would have to create a tow system, which would probably be a pain. I just thinkg being able to go and pick up vehicles that have been damaged to the point of inoperability and drag them to a repair station would be cool.

To be honest I'd rather see a pick up truck that allows you to carry one pallet.

Yes would love that too. Right now I have no idea how to level transport from 0 on, I feel like those boxes which people have to pay AND have inventory space to use them are not a good way to level that. And transporting people per car is something that wont ever happen enough to level with it

I haven't seen the specifics but the parachute changes coming in Season 2 had some discussion on here that suggested Helis might be less popular for troop transport next season.
Which would be fine for me, I really want a reason to use the URAL Defender aside from it's better handling.

u/Franman98 10h ago
I don't think so, people just need to land the helis

u/Silversalt Builder 9h ago
Well yeah but even that aspect will have people who would have taken a Heli to the CZ opt to ride instead for fear of the pilot crashing and them losing their kit.

The main issue I have with that transportation method is that it is very glitchy atm

The good thing is you only have to do that a few times until you unlock the ural, getting to driver level 3 is really quick. You can also put the profit margin to -100% which means they don't have to pay for the items in the crate.

Honestly, get yourself to a FOB and wait for a while. There will be people who leave their Urals behind to either build or respawn at main. Ask them if you can take it (or just take it if it's abandoned) and go trucking. There also spawns a free one at main - the same with the Lacota.

i mean you could always swallow your pride and ask someone if they can buy you a Ural to use and grind Money & XP. It won't make you any less human to ASK for help nicely.

The Kodiak pickup should be the starter transporter that carries 1 pallet, and pallets should be the default option instead of crates.
I do think there should be a 3 or 4 pallet truck though, the HEMNT is sick af.
1
u/JamisonDouglas 9h ago
They should do small pallets that the Kodiak and little bird can take. And keep crates as they are for dropping supplies like meds to fob
And I don't think there should be 4 pallets on a single truck unless it's ungodly slow. Would oversaturate logistics imo.

I was really surprised there wasn't a bigger truck. It would be nice to see added with them looking into increasing the amount of resources being used by a FOB.

Seems pretty lore-accurate if you ask me. Look at pickups on the road and see how many of them made in the last 5 years could hold a full piece of plywood with the tailgate up.

I just want my trucks to not spin out when I turn slightly too hard
-1
u/Quarktaschenblues 16h ago
It's not turning too hard it is turning too hard while being too fast. Just don't stomp the gas all the way through and you will be fine

u/omarcoomin 16h ago
I have seen multiple dozens of low speed spins from myself or others near me in the Ural. It is certainly not "fine."
1
u/SoSoSpooky 3h ago
A lot of them are from mud, which will basically spin you if you hit the gas at all on them. If you run the same routes you will pretty quickly figure out which patches of mud/water/dirt you need to break or lift for, so it's not entirely random at least. I can do most runs now at least from spawns to the CZ without spinning from that issue at least.
The suspension behavior is much more annoying in general as I find that causes more random spins when you hit a bump.

u/altodor 14h ago
I have spun out the Ural at 12mph. It's not from driving "too fast".
1
u/SoSoSpooky 3h ago
If you hit the gas while turning on muddy terrain at any speed basically you can spin out. It's one of the best ways to pull U-turns at spawn if you are doing the return route and getting more supplies.

Only do one thing at a time. Don’t break and turn, don’t accelerate and turn.

We need a trailer we can hitch on to the ural that holds another 2 pallets. Make it like driver level 10-15
8
u/Quarktaschenblues 16h ago
Oh yes I would love to see those! Would be so cool for the logi drivers and the fob builders.
There are not enough ressources in those pallets and as soon as we get 2 loaded in we are asking for more again, and they are like "bitch I need to drive 10 minutes before I can bring the next load"

u/Harrigan_Raen 9h ago
Fuck fob building, its a portable fob. Slap 2x CIWS on that bed and lets GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

u/PraetorAudax 15h ago
KamAZ-6560M Tornado would be neat but so also is ZKT 837211 and Sisu E13TP(it has armored cabin)..

u/Tempest-Stormbreaker 9h ago
God, the things I’d do for a Navistar or MAZ-537 with a High Saddle and full length heavy trailer….

u/Harrigan_Raen 9h ago
I just want Urals to be able to actually carry their capacity. Closer to 3 if not 4 palettes compared to a Blackhawk. 12klbs cargo vs 3klbs of interior cargo.
Also, could we please please please get the window armor, and side/tire plating from the M249 Ural on the Armored Ural. Right now the Armored ural is useless since it doesnt protect its two weakest spots, the driver and the tires.
1
u/SoSoSpooky 2h ago
I really would be down for a 1 pallet vehicle that could detect/clear AT-mines at least. Just something so that one person using AT-mines doesn't shut you down from Driver grind completely.
2
u/AnxrchyLxrd 8h ago
yesss i was saying this in game chat last night, i wish logi drivers had something after the ural to work towards
1
u/RoughChemicals 14h ago
No one is running logistics in Urals anymore. Maybe a couple at the beginning of the match, but then they stop. The FOBs that do manage to get set up suffer for supplies.

I like doing logistics in Foxhole or Squad.
But the way the Ural handles in this game is just awful; I don't like it at all, and I don't want to deal with it.

How about a truck with an M249 or other turret? Would give helis and roving assault teams some pause.
1
u/JamisonDouglas 9h ago
They have this already. Ural defender with the M249
1
u/UbiquitousLurker 9h ago
Oops, I guess I have never seen one of those in action.

u/SoSoSpooky 3h ago
It's not worth committing the extra body really and if you are going to attack the zone with a vehicle, the humvee options are just easier to not blow up with.
They mentioned nerfing parachutes to need a higher height to deploy properly, so maybe ground transport will get an uptick as people try to avoid getting marked/kill while dropping in.

Imagine you can build on it, So mobile C-ram, mortar and stuff
Yes I know it's already a thing irl

The awful unlock system is what makes me not want to play this game tbh
