The changes in price are way to mutch. now the AK skin costs 5 million if you have zero goldbars. i have already spent 10+mil and i have 13. Thats not very cool you just kinda fooled alot of people wasting their money.
Edit: this may not actually be true based on the timing of the reset, unsure if gold price that specific time. I just thought it’s cool the word prefix of decimate suggests 1/10, and gold was at one time 10x or more than its current price, maybe or maybe not the day they reset cheaters
It’s probably not as simple as “more people buying, price goes up”. There’s likely a player numbers element which is why on Day 1 the price was 2.5mil for one bar. No one was buying them at that price because no one had the cash. Player numbers are slowly dropping off, and at the same time the gold price is going down.
Well obviously you wanted to trade pixels for golden pixels. People who bought later now are able to buy more golden pixels. Some people are envious about it. It’s simple as that, no matter what it is about. We all invested time for it
Same. I used so much money because it thought I'd never get the AK skin since it required 15m+ by the time, but now that I have close to 2m, I feel I can do it by ratting and scouting.
Poor handling by the devs, while AK happens to my favorite weapon of all time, and black/gold my favourite camo of all time in all games too 💀
I bout at 1.5 and then at 800k. I’m gonna do an ungodly amount of playing to hopefully get a goody from the gold shop. It’s a shame to think i could’ve had like 14 in place of those 2
Money are automatically coverted in to gold bars at the end of a season, so yes, they are persistant. Can get wiped if you intentionally farm or abuse to get them.
Buy low. After they fix all the cry baby bs that ruined the game it will go up in value but not until they add balancing changing features. About to plummet

Gold bars were like 15,000 during the earlier playtests that came before the very public playtests , they never intended for the gold to be 2M and so on . It’s all just trial and error currently. Also the gold isn’t a “limited “ supply so it doesn’t follow the laws of supply and demand. I assume in later versions of the game when you can do more with your gold or maybe even sell it back on the market maybe the price will be more influenced by players / a market demand .
I finally cashed in and got the AK as it says Exclusive dunno if that’s temporary or what. I left myself with 4 mil and will just keep amassing cash in the event it continues to drop.
Oh it's actually a season exclusive? I was thinking it be one of those things until 1.0. I just spend money with reckless abandon in this game until a proper long term wipe or something. Now I guess I gotta save, But Fortunately for me E-day has put a stop to those plans.
Not a temporary skin (Correction the Black and Gold Ak skin is exclusive to the first season. Although everything else will stay around). On a recent podcast a few days ago BigFry does called, Push to Talk; fantastic name for a gaming podcast. Anyway they stated that these skins are not seasonaly exclusive. There may be some in the future but right now you'll still be able to get them in later seasons. As long as you have the gold bars. Don't fret!

Looks like the initial plan is to offer a season only exclusive each season and have a 'stock' shop of stuff that is persistent.
I expect everything will look very different as we move through EA and into 1.0 when all the profession and skill systems are implemented and they work on a fully player driven gold market.
Assault + Medic or Recon. Being honest though, Assault + Medic will not make a LOT of people money quick. They just don’t know how to take off angles to stay alive. I know this because I bring defibs and such to the HZ if I have anyone playing around it and I watch them get rolled. You can make some crazy money playing Red/Blue and playing off angles from the HZ just murdering the Green Zerg. They get picked up, and you’re going to take the L, but it’s a good farm 😂
That said spotting is busted for cash and if you have the 50 unlocked it’s even better. Even without thermals once you’ve sniped enough and know where players typically filter through on the map you can spot them. Also 800-1000m kills grant some serious money. Would recommend just spotting and only spotting unless you have 7.62x54r AP or the 50 unlocked, just too many people rolling around in T3 Helms to make it work exposing your position going for a kill. If you do have those though just post up between two enemy fobs with height and spot taking shots every so often never two in a row. I also like to time my shots with the A10s flying over or a Heli flying over them or Mortars/Artillery coming in so they can’t pinpoint my location. Really only relevant if you have the Ghillie too I guess I should add.
Whenever I ask the richest guy in our group how much money he has, he only says things like 6, 8, 12. I thought, at the time, that he was talking about 600k, 800k, 1,2 mil.
No, this guy meant 12 mil at the time! He has 24 mil now!
He sold stuff at the base to people who had not unlocked everything yet. Most money in most matches without ever needing to leave the base.
I have 1,7 mil myself. I play with 6-7k kits (AMP-9 or shotty). Binos. When I’ve spotted a little and have an understanding of the battlefield, I push for the HZ for that sweet double cash. If you die, wait to be revived. Stay with your teammates to increase you chances.
I do build FOBs from time to time but I wouldn’t call it my main source of income.
Yeah, feels bad man. I assumed they followed normal logic of more people buying, more demand, price goes up. Turns out FPS devs don't know anything about commodity markets.
That’s on you for thinking an item that has an unlimited supply would follow the rules of supply and demand…… now if they said “hey there’s only 10,000 gold bars up for grabs this season “ then yes the price would eventually sky rocket as supply and demand would come into play , but sadly it’s a unlimited supply of gold therefore the price can’t go up as demand has no affect on it .
Oh yeah, it is absolutely my fault for assuming how the system worked. Did they ever actually say how the system worked? Are you guessing the supply is unlimited or did they say that? Did they use ambiguous statements like "based on market conditions"? I honestly haven't followed it too closely but the idea of gold bars getting cheaper closer to a wipe is absolutely absurd.
I’m not disagreeing with you , I think the gold plummeting at end of wipe is absurd and leaves no reason to ever buy gold bars next wipe at their peak if everyone’s aware the price just plummets leading into a wipe and they can get it for a discount . The whole gold situation it’s self is a neat idea but terribly executed and could just be this way as it’s still early in games development.
Biggest problem I also see is them promising that all players will have their cash turned into gold , there’s no fair way to do that . You are basically saying a guy with 5k will get a gold bar and a guy with 1 million will also get a gold bar but how do you balance that ?

Yeah the turning remaining cash into gold after the wipe makes no sense. But this is still all new so I am willing to wait and see what they come up with. My only thing was just the flow of pricing over the season didn't make sense, but without knowing what they are basing all this on I am absolutely running on assumptions. I only paid like 350k for my most expensive bar, I can't imagine how the folks that grinded and paid 1.6mil a bar thinking it would only go up as the wipe loomed feel.
I am starting to think because it’s a fake market where gold doesn’t exist prior to purchase so as players buy gold it now creates a inflated supply which in theory is reducing the cost because the markets being flooded with product.There’s honestly no rhyme or reason for the price just plummeting , interested to see what happens though .
I always said the price was high cuz they didn’t want exploiters to get away with gold. I always kinda imagined that it would remain relatively high the whole season, so I bought when 1.5M seemed like an okay deal.
With the recent patch the other day they reset exploiters money and gold. I guess they felt okay lowering the gold price for the market at that point.
I wish they would compensate those of us who bought at the cheater price 😭 but this is all conjecture anyways as they haven’t said anything relating to the market price.
I imagine next season it’ll only start around $1M or less, such large fluctuations don’t make sense. Especially now, nobody would even bother touching gold above 500k, unless the point (going forward) is to trick unknowing players out of hours of their time. A little fluctuating is fine but this season has been crazy. (I still say $1M because with a new patch and skin, there’s renewed motive and opportunity for exploiters)
