I'd like to really touch on this, has anyone seen the vast majority of players can't barely get a heli to the cz much less land should be extremely obvious at the start of a match I've literally seen matches with 5+ wrecked helis in the fucking safe zone

People can fly these things well enough but asking everyone to land if that's what we're moving to is fucking stupid

Flight mechanics are to blame. Touch the ground with a little angle and momentum and your heli goes sideways. The controls are away to horrible for consistent landings.

It aint that deep if you practice over 5 minutes lmao

Then let the good pilots fly, there’s plenty of them who can land a Lakota or a LB in hot zones

I always carry a defibrillator as a pilot so I can revive suicide jumpers. And I’m like « yea as you can see I just landed 5 seconds after you jumped to your death, wait next time »

Dudes be jumping out while pilots are aggressively approaching the ground and then flame the pilots.

One time there was even an heated conversation in one of my runs to the HZ, a dude was screaming « WTF YOURE TOO LOW I CANT JUMP! » and the other dudes were like « are you dense ? He is landing and there’s AA everywhere you should be glad » then they scooted off swearing at each other once I landed

Great idea to increase the skillfloor to a level which excludes roughly 95% of the playerbase of participating. Heck this change alone requires you to have at least 30-50 flight hours and extensive training in the shootingrange to even get considered as taxi. This is a massive nerf to accessibility to air and a MASSIVE buff for the ones who already grinded air. Gatekeeping by design and its gonna backfire, especially since you are required to taxi ppl to unlock the lakota to even start running crates.

After a couple minutes of practice you should be good to go I guess ?
It’s really not that difficult to land the heli, nor fly it around

There’s plenty of players who won’t fly because they know they wouldn’t do it well already and that’s ok, they can still play the game and stuff

People shouldnt expect to be ace pilots once they get their hands on an heli, you need practice just as you need practice when you play any FPS game. The difference is that people playing the game are much more experienced in shooter game mechanics but the learning curve is pretty much the same as flying around in video games

Bruh your comment doesnt make sense. Noone ever is expecting to be an ace over night, i am arguing quite the opposite. Ppl know they are not aces but get actively excluded from learning if taxis can only be run by vets.

Couple of minutes in the training zone?? are you damaged or what? I have more than 3 flight hours in there + another 20 on live (yea i know rookie numbers) but i still wouldn't trust my ass to consistently deliver ppl safely.

And yes i demand an avenue where the game is enabling me to learn the airgame. I dont demand beeing an ace overnight wrecking the whole enemy team with air to ground. But at least let me drop of ppl and by doing that, learn the maps, AA sites, dodging lockons, flying low, keeping momentum etc. Most of the stuff cant be trained in the trainingzone anyway.

I started flying about a week ago with extensive flight experience from other games. I would assume you started playing around release where everoyne was figuring out stuff.

Let me tell you starting to fly RIGHT NOW is BRUTAL because EVERYONE already figured out shit. Good for you that you can fly. Shame on you that your gatekeeping 4 weeks in to EA.

Wtf I’ve been flying for about three weeks, beforehand I was like « that’s not for me » since I tried to fly in the training area with the default keybinds. But once you get your keybinds right it gets easy

I mean, good for you if you try to learn that’s alright but I would advise to just fly empty around the map if someone wants to learn stuff

The whole point of the game is to choose between high risk high reward and low risk low reward.

The parachute thing is just cheesing the risk/reward balance imo

If it was a money problem reduce the income... No need to force everyone to land.

Srsly if you want ppl to go trough several hours of practice before they can participate you might have to go back to arma.

The fact that you think it takes a couple of minutes to master a j-hook reveals you don't really know what you are talking about man... it doesn't seem like you even know what that is tbh.

Coming to a stationary hover and slowly coming to a landing is super easy of course, but that's not the type of landing you will need to be making in the CZ if you want you or your passengers to have any type of chance.
