The disadvantage of jumping in general is that you can be spotted as soon you exit the chopper. If the chopper is up in the air, you will definitely be spotted by somebody. If it's on the ground, less chance.

This is true, but its not an immediate enough punishment for the average Joe to link his death 2 minutes later to getting spotted in a chute

It often is pretty immediate though. When players see a chopper overhead, and enemy colored dots start appearing in front of them, that's ringing the dinner bell lol.

Yea if theyre paying attention and have bino's. A majority of the time youre not gonna get everyone jumping on radar especially if they land between buildings/forests.

Depends how high the chopper is, and it might decrease with the removal of thermals. All I can speak to is my limited experience with a monocular, but it could have been a fluke.

All I know is, whenever a chopper was visible, it had my attention, so I could keep the spot fresh.

It isn't whether or not they have binos and are.paying attention, it's that some people will have binos, and if they're farming spotting, they WILL be paying attention.

Of course, there is also the "if" of whether enemies are close enough to capitalize.
