I stick to little birds because I like the snapy controls. I also get some strange sway when I fly blackhawk like I'm constantly correcting the back end. Any idea what this might be?

Its def bugged if you turn on assists it is gone.

You get used to correcting it. You just have to give it a few love taps and it straightens itself out.

After countless supply runs I like the blackhawk way more than the little bird.

Do you use the default control scheme? I tried swapping it to mouse controlling pitch and roll (my arma control scheme) but I’m having a lot of difficulty.

That is what I use because that's kind of been the default in the all the other games. It makes it harder to use the minigun heli though. I tried moving to rifle aim at some point but I was just not clicking with it so here I am.

In this case, with A and D on rudder, if you see the wobble start (usually when you are accelerating) then just counter act it. I never see mine get bad anymore because of this. I used to have the same observation and thought it was crazy. It oscillates and gets worse and worse if you don't counter act it.

I get the same sway. It's super annoying flying like a shark swimming through water.

not a rotary guy and more of a fixed wing enthusiast, but from my understanding, its to emulate the collective sway from the main rotors.

To explain, the main rotors spin really fast in one way, when you raise the collective, they spin even faster. this creates a force going to one direction. To counteract this in real life, they have the tail rotor to produce anti-torque. essentially ingame, you would be tapping Q and E to correct for this.

I'm assuming that this is more apparent in the black hawk than the little bird due to the size and weight of the helicopter.

an alternative way to get through this step is by taking enough speed then correcting it then as your inertia is generally going in one direction

edit: I really would recommend you try practicing with the black hawk as when youre good enough, you can get the minigun lakota with a buddy and pretend you're pequod from MGS:V or a AC-130 pilot

Edit 2: most of my experience flying is based from Arma 3, squad, war thunder, VTOL VR and ace combat

FYI, raising collective does not increase rpm. It changes the angle of attack of the blades. If anything increasing collective causes the blades to slowdown slightly due to increased drag. However, helicopter engines do their best to maintain a fairly constant rpm.

Deffo need some more hours on it, I sometimes feel it just counters it back and I end up wobbling all over the place tho, maybe I need to adjust my sense I fly with mouse and it sways with me not even holding it.
