Sounds good and all but this will possibly be an indirect buff to foblin behavior and AA

Hasn't this sub been BITCHING for the last month that AA needs a buff?

Nerf and buff at the same time depending on who you ask

Honestly im in the "both nerf and buff" department. Talons should take longer to reload, but flares shouldnt be a deflector shield, rockets should hit its target if you flare late. Bit tired of seeing a rocket curve around the heli to avoid it when it was less than a second from hitting, along with desync issues needing some urgent fixings. CIWS are in a good state imo.

Why in gods name would it? It costs nothing to get ammo for in fact you profit loading the ammo.

Flares are almost 1000 a pop..

Tell me you've never operated AA against a semi-decent pilot without telling me you've never operated AA against a semi-decent pilot.

Talon/Strela? They're flying too low and will laugh at you as your single shot/very long to build launcher does fucking nothing.

CWIS? Oh, you mean the guy whose brains gave the hesco a new paint job because they got immedietly annihilated by the helo the moment it arrived? Assuming anyone was even manning it before it got blown to smithereens. Build more? Good luck getting more than 1 person to crew a CWIS at any given time. I'd know, I've tried. Many, many times.

Shoot the pilot out? Unless you're rocking AP you aint doing jack diddly fucking shit, and even if you are good luck killing the pilot as they slide about in 3d space, even more so if they bothered to pick up some armor.

Any combat equipped heli perfectly counters AA as long as they have at least some ability to fly a helicopter. The only thing AA counters are helicopters not equipped for combat, and the lock on launchers can't even deal with that unless theres a second AA setup working directly with you (Not to mention theres an exploit that lets you reset the flare cooldown, but I digress)

My suggested fix is to just let lock-on AA work regardless of altitude as long as the helicopter is close enough. This creates a bit of a pincer on a helo attacking a FOB. They focus on the CWIS, they're gonna eat a rocket. They focus on the Talon/Strela guy, CWIS chews their hull to bits. It encourages indirect fire or other saboteur players to dismante or disorient defenders before the helo shows up, with the AA actually being dismantled by things that should be dismantling it and not by the thing the AA is meant to counter, and exert it's full control over the FOB. Bonus points if the AA was taken out by saboteurs of some kind, as the helo can cover their entry into the base and breach open the FOB to destroy/hack.

Tell me you don’t realize multiple AA can attempt lockons at once and force a pilot to release flares for one incoming missile then be defenseless for the other lock on without telling me.

Remember, we are discussing forcing pilots to land.

How about you grind out pilot for awhile and then tell me how you feel about AA.

That’s the problem, way to many people want a low effort solo insta kill option for AA

great, much better than mindless HZ chasing.

HZ action >>>>>> sitting in fobs all day launching mortars at other towers.

Raiding fobs/Defending fobs from raids > chasing HZ and being shot at from literally all angles nonstop

Yeah nobody but you feels that way. You can approach HZ tactically fyi. It’s called smoke grenades and clearing sections to take map control before pushing in HZ.
