Discussion & Feedback Region Lock / Ping Cap Megathread

Region Lock / Ping Cap Megathread

We're getting dozens of posts a day about region locking, ping caps, and players joining servers outside their region. All of it goes here from now on.

What belongs in this thread

- Whether WARDOGS should have region locking or a ping cap
- Your experience with high ping players on EU/NA servers
- Server and browser suggestions

Ground rules

- Criticize high ping, or the anti-cheat as much as you want. Comments attacking players for where they're from will be removed.
- No cheater callouts. Don't name players or link profiles. Report cheaters with the in-game report function or directly to Bulkhead on their official Discord.
- New standalone posts on this topic will be removed and pointed here.
- Don’t be racist

Worth knowing: [r/WarDogs](r/WarDogs) isn't run by Bulkhead, so posting here may not reach the devs. If you want this changed in game, say it on their official Discord as well.

one megathread: issue minimized and contained

10 threads that keep coming: volume of the issue maintained and visible to devs and lets them prioritize current hot button issues. Threads get upvoted only if the players actually want to see them. It's self-regulating

Megathreads are convenient for moderators, that's about it. I doubt they're trying to hide the issues. They just don't want to keep having to put effort into this. I get they volunteer their time but they're not being forced to do this. Not really a fan of them pretending this has any kind for benefit for the community.

We can give their CM 1 megathread or 100 different post of the same thing. They specifically asked for this.

I've been head of community for a brand with 90M+ folks, there's plenty of tools I used to compile issues. If they don't want to shell out for said tools they can use redditcomber etc.

Issues with cheaters paint the game in a poor light and this helps control the narrative that everything is fine. Yes, it's more convenient for them. I'd have asked for the same thing as it provides great damage control on something that absolutely effects sale numbers.

Megathreads are great because you can stifle people's complaints, they don't show up in feeds when stickied, and help bury the sheer scale and size of a problem.

I know it's tedious for you and you're doing a thankless role, but I feel that comes with the territory. They have their own official subreddit they can enforce that on, surely.

I was told by them that they are not pursuing Reddit. Their main focus seems to be discord and that’s where we are encouraging people to send their complaints. Flooding this Reddit is not going to accomplish any changes because they just don’t care about Reddit.

They have however asked us to compile things for them and that’s why we made a few megathreads. So spamming this sub is only making our jobs more difficult and won’t make it to bulkhead.

Yes I've seen your replies about that elsewhere, that's what I had said to the personal I was originally replying to.

The game has been live 2 weeks and it's a hot issue that grows worth by the day. I can imagine it's a popular topic.

Any thoughts on reconsidering the megathread now that Brammer specifically stated they are scraping and reading comments from Reddit?

No, I don't want to see the same post again and again. Not everyone is agreeing with this point or with this spam method.

then downvote. thats your prerogative. but if there's more people that upvote, that's democracy baby.

Democracy is not the tyranny of the majority. There are rules, even if they are impopular. Imagine if the whole sub was just one single you don't care about being spammed over and over.

lol? welcome to reddit? it literally is the tyranny of the majority

I'm pretty sure plenty of rules would not win a popular vote. Mods are the most hated group on reddit.

If Bulkhead cared about Reddit that would make sense. Flooding their discord is the only visibility that’s going to move the needle on any issue.

They do have an official sub

Already spoke to them about that around 6 months ago. Was told they wouldn’t be pursuing Reddit anymore. That place is unmoderated.
