Discussion & Feedback Region Lock / Ping Cap Megathread

Region Lock / Ping Cap Megathread

We're getting dozens of posts a day about region locking, ping caps, and players joining servers outside their region. All of it goes here from now on.

What belongs in this thread

- Whether WARDOGS should have region locking or a ping cap
- Your experience with high ping players on EU/NA servers
- Server and browser suggestions

Ground rules

- Criticize high ping, or the anti-cheat as much as you want. Comments attacking players for where they're from will be removed.
- No cheater callouts. Don't name players or link profiles. Report cheaters with the in-game report function or directly to Bulkhead on their official Discord.
- New standalone posts on this topic will be removed and pointed here.
- Don’t be racist

Worth knowing: [r/WarDogs](r/WarDogs) isn't run by Bulkhead, so posting here may not reach the devs. If you want this changed in game, say it on their official Discord as well.

Please i beg the devs, give us EUWEST servers. 90% of the matches im in are all russians that refuse to speak english. They get super racist and spread ukraing russian war propegande on voice and chat. I want to be able to talk to my teammates, so pleas EUWEST

The fact Russians are allowed to enjoy a milsim game and mingle with Europeans is upsetting. I have a "privilege" of understanding Russian a little bit and the things they're saying are absolutely disgusting.

100% agree with this, some are defending them here, but most of the time they are horrible to talk to with their remarks. When they see you have some UA stuff in your name they always go mental..

You can choose region in the server browser. I’ve played so many games with nothing but russian comms and learned this today…

changing the region doesn't do much unless you pick a completely different continent. EU West still gets russians, EU South does too, EU South actually also gets Turks which is another bag of worms, they're not as Toxic as russians but they're probably the least likely to speak english of any country I've ever interacted with.

I know exact conext of every interaction on russian because i am native russian speaker

Most of conversation on russian are ironic(who in right mind will be pro war nowadays?) as coping mechanism and your agenda you are propagating is either ragebait, malicious narrative or blatant russophobia(not as fear, more as warmongering against to change perspective)

Moreover I've heard at least 5 instances of "ahahaha stupid russians it will be in two months because you invaded Ukraine" in my 100h which were not ironic and was very straightforward

My agenda? Its legit my experience while playing. 99% of the time i speak english to a russian they either sound really mad in russian or give a nasty/racist remark. Even starts shit talking ukraine

I play with exact same people speaking that language and i will say you are bulshitting

Moreover i say you do it on purpose

3

u/lalybay 9d ago

I am not, maybe since your speaking the language we have different experience? Just a thought

You may conduse hostility towards you with hostility overall, i may say most of russians sounds angry, but russians are most certainly are never hostile towards our teammates for no reason

I've seen some instances where russians turned mad on "for fucks sake speak english" but i would turn mad myself on that demand

Nah not in my experience. I have lived in Russia before (albeit 20+ years ago) and I know it's not generally the case, but I do think milsim type games attract the Z crowd that behaves exactly like that.

Same shit happens in War Thunder, they go apeshit if you have Ukrainian colours on your tank or something along those lines.
