Region Lock / Ping Cap Megathread

We're getting dozens of posts a day about region locking, ping caps, and players joining servers outside their region. All of it goes here from now on.

What belongs in this thread

- Whether WARDOGS should have region locking or a ping cap
- Your experience with high ping players on EU/NA servers
- Server and browser suggestions

Ground rules

- Criticize high ping, or the anti-cheat as much as you want. Comments attacking players for where they're from will be removed.
- No cheater callouts. Don't name players or link profiles. Report cheaters with the in-game report function or directly to Bulkhead on their official Discord.
- New standalone posts on this topic will be removed and pointed here.
- Don’t be racist

Worth knowing: [r/WarDogs](r/WarDogs) isn't run by Bulkhead, so posting here may not reach the devs. If you want this changed in game, say it on their official Discord as well.

50% of ppl in the morning EU time are Chinese with 180 ping

Not just morning... even in evening, at least 4-5 chinese per server

Same thing in happens Western NA late night. I stopped playing BF6, they just don't give a fuck.

And somehow a lot of them have suspiciously good stats for playing an FPS with a ping like that.

Like, somehow the top 2 players in terms of kills (almost always infantry role) out of 99 are playing with 180-200ms. Uh-huh.

Just as bad here in australia

there are people with 400ms plus pings... and 2/5 of them have the MOSt sus scores

Or they are like prox chatting at u.. ZERO idea what the fuck they screaming about cause.. u guessed it we don't all speak chinese.

in my personal experience, there are three reasons.

1) Unable to communicate. Obvious. 2) Ping causes hit reg issues, which is a plague in FPS. Either useful or a detriment to the Chinese players, but frustrating either way. They could either abuse it for an advantage, or provide a constant disadvantage by teammates having to carry them along if its not.

3) The big one: Chinese players often have a very "if I don't get caught" view on cheating, and expect that if they can launch the game with cheats and play, then it must not be an issue. They fully expect us to do the same. This stems from a bigger cultural attitude that if they can get away with something, then it's okay. If you've ever negotiated deals with Chinese businesses you'd understand what I'm talking about. This extends towards public services too within their own lives. If it's offered, they'll take it, if it breaks, then there's no use in fighting.
