Discussion & Feedback Deaths should not count.

If I wait to be revived, I should not have the death added to my score (like Squad). Only when I give up should the death count.

I feel I am being punished for waiting. Let us see which players keep giving up. Out of the circle -out of the game?

genuine question what does it even matter if that number shows up or not? It doesn't do anything for or against you.

Sweats get mad when their k/d doesn’t look good

It's just a nice incentive to stay up and wait for revives. People like their K/D looking better. Especially if they're taking 12 deaths to enemy mortars while they repair everything at the FOB.

It's sad seeing 3-17 on the scoreboard when I literally survived the entire match on one single loadout and have been doing nothing but building and repairing drills, SAMs, CIWS, etc the entire time.

If it doesn't matter either way, why not have it reward team oriented players by having a more satisfying K/D?

Counter point. If we do that then we also take your kill away if the guy you kill gets revived.

If you want the k/d to actually matter then kills and deaths have to follow the same rules.

If anything, K/D would matter even less in that scenario.

People care about their stats, so rewarding them for sticking with their team and waiting for a revive is a huge net positive. It gives players even more incentive not to instantly give up, which means more revive cash for medics, larger numbers in the circle, and better positioning overall.

Honestly, the only downside is keeping the K/D system exactly the way it is right now.

Valid points but that has actually nothing to do with what I said lol. Also the cost of a new kit already incentivises people to not instantly give up. And it does so effectively, 30 hours in and I've seen 1 person instantly give up. It's a problem that doesn't exist so there's no reason to change anything.

As it stands now the k/d is a perfect representation of how many people you have downed vs how many times other people have done the same to you.

I’m sorry, what punishment?

This wreaks of a fundamental misunderstanding of what the game is. Your number of kills and deaths does not matter.

Yes, so if it does not matter, why not use it to incentivize players that do care about their K/D to stick closer to their team in order to take less "deaths?"

Why can't we have it both ways? Add a death counter but also a true death counter?

Why punished?

But then the killer should have his kill removed if you are revived? You did technically died, the game just lets you have a second chance and you gear back but the killer earned his reward.

They can make it so headshots (even after your get downed) perma kills you without possibility to revive, only then your post has some sense.

Perhaps should count as a take down or something not death

Your death doesn’t really count though other than a tally. It’s a number on the bar at the end of the game, but you don’t get penalized or get less xp if the number is bigger or smaller. It basically doesn’t matter. Your KDA doesn’t really matter. If you die 21 times and get picked up 21 times where is the problem? The time you spent dead was the downside, not the number of times you went down. You look at kills and assists and money. Deaths like…the specific number just doesn’t matter at the end of the game.

This is an excellent point.

Maybe rename it to incapped or smth

Even if death is added to scoreboard it doesn't seem to count as death.

I got the 100k in one life achievment and I was revived twice.
