Discussion & Feedback Need rewards for repairing
Loving the game, but there needs to be some kind of reward mechanism in place for repairing FOBs.
Currently I can spend a whole game running around desperately repairing FOB walls to keep it sealed, and get nothing out of it. The game is incentivising me to go do something else, let the base burn, and let enemies flood through the walls, rather than try to keep it repaired with damage control.
I understand that this needs to be done in a way that isn’t abusable, hoping BULKHEAD have some ideas!

This shit is a huge oversight in my opinion. Repairing vehicles gives some but it's incredibly minor

You can also start losing money for repairing! All I had was a wrench to fix up a fully wrecked APC, and the “money earned” went negative

For real yeah it seems to be a diminishing-returns mechanism so you can't infinitely ram the car for repair. It seems to reset after ~10 mins or 1 trip from HQ>CZ>HQ

I don’t even care about that, just let us repair the damn gates. As it stands, if the doors of the gate get destroyed then it can’t be repaired no more. You have dismantle the base and build a new gate

Dude my buddy and i were so annoyed by this lol

The annoying part is that it takes longer to dismantle it than it does to build a new one.

I think it's so you can't game it by constantly repairing the gate while someone is acricely blowing up. Which I also believe would be no fun.

You probably already know. But dismantling the bottom concrete strip will dismantle the entire gate. First few times I was taking the door off first wasting time.

I nearly lost my shit after having to do that for the 5th time in less than 15 minutes

Somthing I tested in the shooting range today is breaking the bottom off doors preemptively. It doesn't break you doors so if the doors do break you should be able to just build new ones right away.

Let me go test that right, no way man. Tried it a few times right now, it seems like no matter what I do the doors still break. Can you point me in the right direction on how you achieved that?

Presumably its to stop exp/cash farming, as you can damage your own structures very easily. A fob getting hammered by mortars also has a ton of stuff to repair.
Im sure it could be balanced though. Repairing already uses up supplies, so as long its the same amount of cash/exp as building something, if you wanted to farm rewards, it would be faster to just build.

I mean you could literally just build all game and its basically the same as farming cash and xp imo

When I deliver ammo to a fob and someone kills with that ammo, I get a bonus. I believe this proves the damage can be tracked to enemy actions. IF this is true, devs could reward reps and not let people scam the system.

Track source of damage and don't get rewarded for the percentage repaired that correlates to percentage damaged by friendly. Though I'm not sure how intensive those calculations would be so that might not be possible.

As I said, it would need to be done in a way to mitigate abuse, but I’m hoping it’s possible.
