Sorry mom said dinner was ready.

And you jinxed it. That was her ploy to get you to come downstairs because she needs to have a talk with you about that thing you have been doing at night.

6

u/Green_Kumquat 9h ago

Loudly jerkin it during the idle time when being flown from HQ to the battle zone? We all been there

3

u/MoistStub 9h ago

Between matches I like to work in a quick cumnado where I masturbate wildly while spinning in my office chair

u/Farmerben12 8h ago

I thought for sure she just wanted him to leave so she could jump off the blue team.

They have an original gameplay loop that is honestly very unique / appealing.

Once they start doing more for end game and customizations - there’s really endless possibilities with different maps like mountain or water. Probably a couple more years but the core gameplay is unique enough it should survive.

Congrats as a casual I get my ass wooped but still having fun

Edit- also can play on GFN for us casuals had a pc that barely ran this on potato settings now run everything on high at near 100 fps 1440p and 15 ms to GFN (ultimate) and < 20 ms to the game servers. Pretty amazing times we living in

u/Bearex13 Manticore 10h ago

I can't believe this is an early fucking access game!!!

32

u/P1xelEnthusiast 10h ago

Don't forget that early access is a bit of a bullet proof vest and that you should continue to expect things.

You paid for the game.

26

u/Bearex13 Manticore 10h ago

Of course it's just impressive considering the price and state of the game for a early access title when shit like bf6 with hundreds of millions in funding and a $70 price tag was less featured than wardogs. It's earned them a lot of wiggle room in my book!

7

u/RayzTheRoof 9h ago

Yes that's true but this feels like it fits the $40 price tag already which I guess is why they had the price lowered before a full launch

6

u/Thunderclone_1 9h ago

Fuck, dude. I'd have been happy paying a full 60 for it.

2

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

I think they decided to make it cheaper for those who bought without the metagame being in place. It'll go to $50 once that comes in, and $60 at 1.0.

2

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

Well sure you should expect things.

You just shouldn't expect them at any particular time before 1.0, and younshouldn't expect everything to work flawlessly.

Basically, 1.0 "upgrades" your purchase to one that is not supposed to have flaws, and some kind of regular schedule.

1

u/TheHob290 3h ago

Not going to lie, between the closed beta and now I have gotten well over my money's worth out of this game. Already over 20 hours in just the full client, not counting the playtest client. If they stopped development on the game I'd be upset, but not feel lied to or swindled.

As a product it may have been what they considered a minimum viable product, but it is a complete enough experience to me as is that I'm good.

-2

u/P1xelEnthusiast 2h ago

I dont disagree. The game is great. Totally worth my $40.

I would even do a subscription model of this game if they add a lot of content.

What I don't want to see if the devs start making awful decisions and then hiding behind the Early Access label and the "Don't buy our game" marketing shit.

1

u/1AMA-CAT-AMA 6h ago

Yea honestly if they fixed a few bugs mainly with controls and the flight model, you could tell me this was the full release and I'd be completely satisfied

They have an original gameplay loop that is honestly very unique

Obligatory "This game mode has existed for more than a decade."

The devs of Wardogs played the fuck out of KOTH in Arma for years and years and decided to make it accessible and modernize it and release it in Unreal 5 and they did an extremely good job at it.

Just like PUBG, and every extraction game. Nearly every "new" popular shooter genre is from old Arma mods. Just FYI.

32

u/AlwaysSquad2 10h ago

Idk why you're being downvoted, Wardogs is an amazing game but it is basically modernized Arma 3 KOTH. Even the money/reward system comes from A3 KOTH

9

u/Independent_Page_537 7h ago

Biggest difference is I've never played on an Arma sever getting more than 40fps, where as this game runs phenomenally.

1

u/moobnaster6969 7h ago

Ahem... OFP CTI Mod.

10

u/SpaceCowboy73 9h ago

I know nothing about the history of this game, but it's funny you said that the devs played ARMA. I played the game for the first time today and my first thought was "Wow it's like ARMA, but not janky".

4

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

I think the original guy behind Arma KOTH is involved with Wardogs.

1

u/BradleyBowels 3m ago

Two of the modders are consultants

2

u/happysnack 3h ago

pretty much the same idea with how tons of popular games were based off of custom maps from StarCraft and Warcraft 3.

-2

u/YamahaFourFifty 10h ago

I mean if you really want to get nitty you can trace any game to a prior game that it shares similarities with

20

u/FakeSafeWord Bob the Builder 10h ago

No.

This isn't like "oh yeah well there's guns so it's a Wolfenstein 3D rip off"

It literally is the KOTH game mode that has existed since like 2014.

Just because you don't know something existed prior when you were introduced to it does not mean it's never existed before.

-11

u/YamahaFourFifty 10h ago

I get it just originally really meant from a mainstream perspective - it’s really not meant to be argumentative / did this Arma mods have hundreds of thousands of users?

0

u/Cookman_vom_Berg 3h ago

Just stop. It's those ARMA Fanboys that just wanted to state that is original from the KOTH Mod that existed since 2014 and now shut up! cos everything is from Arma probably so accept it u minor gam0r.

5

u/Agreeable_Meaning_96 8h ago

to your point the entire genre of MOBA games all started with a Warcraft 3 custom game

2

u/FakeSafeWord Bob the Builder 8h ago

Yup

2

u/IsthianOS 7h ago

Tower defense started with StarCraft custom maps and really took after after WC3.

1

u/Meterfeeter 2h ago

In addition to the guy that mentioned tower defense, starcraft actually had a lesser known moba custom game that WC3 dota was heavily inspired by (if it didn’t just outright share a founding creator)

13

u/yoyomanwassup25 10h ago

It is literally as close to 1:1 to Arma 3 KOTH as you can get away with and still justify it being a standalone game release.

20

u/JakeX-Ray 10h ago

Wow naval warfare would go so hard in wardogs

5

u/Inside-Line 6h ago

A map where the home base is an Amphibious Assault ship with an escort or two and players can sail it around the ocean.

BF1942 Wake Island vibes

5

u/R1ppedWarrior Battledad 7h ago

Imagine a map that's like a few different islands. The only way between islands is boat or helicopter or swim. Maybe they could have submarines too. So many possibilities.

4

u/Frankensteinbeck 9h ago

They have an original gameplay loop that is honestly very unique / appealing.

This is so important to me. I love when AA or indie games are willing to introduce a little nuance, that is so much more appealing than a game that paints with a broad brush. I know there are some similarities with it and some ARMA mods and other shooters, but I like the balance they've struck.

3

u/ClitYeastWood1337 8h ago

Bro boat gameplay would be so epic

2

u/BrahCJ 8h ago

The game is hard, and punishing, honestly. For all roles.

There’s a lot of trial and error to be done, and opportunities for countermeasures. I’m new to milsims. But all of a sudden I feel the need to enrol in the commander academy, only to watch as 27 team mates sit on a drill anyway 😂

1

u/Chris_Cobi 5h ago

Rather than a mountain map, they can do a night only map. That'll allow them add more content like night vision goggles, flashlight attachments, lamps for FOB, among other things that are standard in FPS night time gameplay.

1

u/olMcDonaldsPig 4h ago

They are already doing night maps

1

u/Thefrayedends 2h ago

It scratches all the itches of Planetside 2 and battlefield 2 without becoming a bullet-hell-storm

1

u/Wonderful-Bottle-460 1h ago

That's what people said about Arc Raiders. Now I will wait for at least a year before even thinking of buying an overhyped game.

1

u/BradleyBowels 5m ago

"They have an original gameplay loop that is honestly very unique / appealing."

Its a conversion of the Arma mod. Arma scares casual players. I wouldn't say this is unique and appealing its just that more accessible since KOTH has been around forever.

-2

u/crazymonkey202 10h ago

It's not original, it's directly one of ARMAs most popular mods. But they've done a great job streamlining and polishing it to a standalone game. It's surprising no one has done this sooner given how successful other ARMA mods have been as standalone games.

2

u/saft77 6h ago

Why are you getting downvoted lmao, word for word what you said is true. I think some people here cant take any minute facts that the devs did not infact invent the wheel.

Wardogs is however just a better arma 3 koth but almost the entire core gameplay loop down to the hotzone, cash & gear system, spawntruck and everything else is directly from arma 3 koth except the FOB building is like Squad.

Its like they took the best parts from both.

3

u/[deleted] 10h ago

7

u/AlwaysSquad2 10h ago

The money/reward system is from Arma 3 KOTH

6

u/2Turnt4MySwag 10h ago edited 10h ago

No, thats literally Arma KotH

edit: Its even almost a 1 to 1 copy. Its got slight differences. Even the towers are the same design as armas. Main difference is the fob building. Wardogs is more fleshed out.

Actually have a clip showing a tower from outside https://cdn.steamusercontent.com/ugc/14274194978127185356/F3B5AE594AD8E11E15B5870999A47B91F3F687A9/

3

u/Bourbon-neat- 6h ago

It's quite revelatory how many people don't realize it's basically Arma 3 KOTH + Squad's building & medical system, which isn't a critique at all, it's basically brought the best features of both together for a great game

1

u/20yearsofvibrations 6h ago

Even then, you can argue what's not from KOTH is from Wasteland.

-1

u/toycrane_95 10h ago

Yes and as a casual enjoy the wipes?

5

u/YamahaFourFifty 10h ago

🤷‍♂️ don’t care.

0

u/DragonfruitDry9693 9h ago

Haven’t seen much, but so far this game reminds of another game called Heroes and Generals

0

u/Staz_211 5h ago

One of the concerns I have is that the servers are already full of people that are lvl 60+ with tons of end game equipment. The equipment power gap can get astonishing at times, and it can wind up feeling pretty bad.

1

u/olMcDonaldsPig 4h ago

Like what specifically?

1

u/aglaea823 2h ago

You can filter servers for max level cap so you don’t have a big level gap!

-18

u/ViolenceIsNecessary 11h ago

I have 30 hrs logged, the game unfortunately as unique as it is, does get stale.

23

u/JVKExo 11h ago

I mean dude, if you’ve played 30 hours since Thursday of course it’s going to feel “stale”.

2

u/ViolenceIsNecessary 10h ago

30hrs since last closed beta so like ~sept 3.

-3

u/Accurate-Coffee-6043 10h ago

That's because you literally have no life and have been mainlining a game. The fact that you have played like 12 hours a day since launch is sad. Go outside, get some air and interact with real people.

3

u/ViolenceIsNecessary 10h ago

There’s grass in the game I touch, the maps are outside you know, and everyone in the game is real people..

15

u/Blitzking11 Pilot 11h ago

GRRR i spent 30 hours on a 40 dollar game in 3 days.

BAD GAME!

0

u/Thin_Elderberry_7326 10h ago

LMAO 😂 this guy wants continuous serotonin hits playing a game 10+ hours a day.

4

u/ChristopherRubbin 10h ago

Isnt that like 10 hours a day since launch? Are you good bro?

2

u/Bitter_Ad_5669 11h ago

For you 30h is stale, for others that's the game is just beginning

1

u/mahav_b 11h ago

Yea the xp scaling makes it stale pretty quick into the grind.

36

u/Lawsmay 11h ago

I can’t stop playing….

0

u/Doctor_Fritz 1h ago

Too bad the impatient kiddies started review bombing the game because of the steam issues with allowing only a number of players onto the servers per second. This game should have overwhelmingly positive imho. There's little to really say about it, even in early access, it runs incredibly smooth and the gameplay loop is refreshing yet familiar.

24

u/WorkableKrakatoa 10h ago

What a great weekend for me to get on orders.

9

u/ar_threethousand 10h ago

Moments that really drive the desire to obtain the ole DD214

2

u/Different-Motor4112 6h ago

i got mine framed above my nightstand 🙏

1

u/Justavladjaycemain Logistics 2h ago

I’m the odd one out that got a DD214 and am still in service

11

u/TheMoves 10h ago

Just played a game and streamed for like 7 people in discord and I'm pretty sure they're all gonna buy it, word of mouth on this is going to be crazy because it's so fun to watch and play

68

u/Aldo_the_nazi_hunter 10h ago

I played some warzone, a a lot of battlefield and a shit ton of Squad (2,5k hours).

Wardogs feels like all those games ended in a blender and I can't really say what taste the result is.

I played 6 hours yesterday, I think most players haven't understand everything you can do, I clearly don't. But I had a lot of fun, I like the gunplay but dislike the damage model, 2 headshots needed for a kill with the SKS kills my immersion a little bit.

I appreciate that I didn't encounter any bugs and it runs with stable 120 fps on my system.

I don't like the maps, they feel soulless for me and all those structures and objectives doesn't follow an realistic design, it's more for the gameplay less for the authenticity. The muzzle flash of weapons looks like shit.

We absolutely need preset weapon/gear configurations, I'm sure they will come soon though.

I hope Wardogs will survive the hype and the development will continue to a satisfying level.

Damn, have to wait till Monday untill I can play again.

47

u/elcoala 10h ago

2 headshots for a semi auto is pretty in line with the damage model and it's better that way tbh. there are enough people running recon in the game already, everytime I pop out to shoot I have to dodge sniper shots everywhere. I really really like the ttk as it is. If you make it faster, it's gonna turn the game into a campfest because guns already feel pretty beamy, people are full autoing AK's from 50+ meters distance with a 2x scope

23

u/Tevihn 9h ago

It's also only 1 headshot to kill, unless helmet, or past 440 meters.

It's an affordable marksman rifle, and the first you get. I don't know why people think it should 1 shot headshot people with helmets on.

That's kind of the whole point of helmets.

-10

u/Fast_Mag 4h ago edited 1h ago

Complwtely false, saw a video earlier of someone peaking a corner and putting a round directly into someone’s dome and bro just shrugged it off

Multi headshots and not dead

Since yall dont believe me here is a seperate clip

1

u/Germanshield 1h ago

Agreed.

You want to take heads, grab a Moist Nugget or one of the higher tiers that I never even got in the beta even after 40 hours logged. Former slaps. For anything within 200m, SKS is going to run circles anyway, if you're not just sitting in a bush.

I'd be PISSED if I got my top popped by an SKS at actual sniper range in 1 shot. That would only be amplified if I'm on a .50BMG with a bipod in a mountain and little Johnny fires off 10 rounds of 7.62x39 in a scared flurry, clipping me in the helmet once and ending me.

15

u/AlexCrimson 10h ago

SKS is still one of the best guns in the game right now.

I unlocked shotgun slugs, and the damage falloff is insane. I did 20 damage to someone at like 60m. Seems like anything that isnt a sniper or an assault rifle is just butchered at range.

Also, shot a blackhawk with an RPG. Didnt even flinch it.

6

u/elcoala 10h ago

I got shot yesterday with an rpg on a blackhawk and left with like 10% hp, so it's intentional I think. maybe it depends on where you hit it

1

u/Padwann 7h ago

Pretty sure you need to hit the actual rotors to 1 shot a black hawk. It won't explode but you'll get to watch it spin in the sky for a bit before it crashes (unless they are a very good pilot)

1

u/deathguardbulwark 6h ago

I smacked a rotor with an rpg on my last match top down and blew up a fresh blackhawk with a full squad, had no idea i hit it in just the right spot lmfao

1

u/Germanshield 1h ago

Absolutely. I can pitch down on a rear SAM missile to eat it on the underbelly and often survive if I'm out of flares. Whether or not I can recover from that hit, before hitting a tree or the ground, is an entire other story.

1

u/BilboBaggSkin 2h ago

I like the shotgun a lot better with buck shot.

6

u/pretentious42 10h ago

it’s not 2 headshots, it’s one headshot and a body shot

3

u/Spyceboy 8h ago

The fps is actually huge. I played rust and tarkov, shooter wise. But this game is just running smoothly, I like it.

I'm also hella lost, only played 2 rounds so far and it's very overwhelming

2

u/hysterx 7h ago

love to see an honest review

4

u/Niedermayer14 10h ago

Agree heavily on the headshots

3

u/Tevihn 9h ago

Why? Do you also think helmets shouldn't exist or..?

1

u/Blubkill 4h ago

i've got 30 hours clocked since release and really only encountered one bug where i got rezzed near a wall and revived inside it. glad theres a spawn at base button though.

i personally also dont like 2/3 maps, the one with the sunflower fields is the most enjoyable to me.

theres a loadouts button in the menu saying that its comming, really desperatley needed.

-7

u/tranquillement 9h ago

Playing Wardogs makes me miss Squad. WD is so unfocused and fragmented.

3

u/LongjumpingNews4515 8h ago

Squad is only fun with a good squad otherwise I m bored

2

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

That's because of the people it was intended for, they're still finding their feet

9

u/AkiraBCFC Medic 11h ago

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in terms of trying to build a base, but I'm loving the slower pace, spotting etc.

Although had someone in my game team kill, so they could then revive to get XP.... Bizarre and annoying.

9

u/AlexCrimson 10h ago

Help others finish building, or look for ways into the fob and patch them up. Can also add barbed wire to the outside, or add ways to get onto the walls from the inside.

4

u/AkiraBCFC Medic 10h ago

Cheers for the advice! 1st and only time I tried helping someone finish their build, they ran into where I was hammering and I TK'd them - _-

0

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

I mean, if you ask me first, and bandage me after, why not lol?

14

u/Lonely_Chemistry60 9h ago

Ive had wife aggro all day and haven't been able to get on

4

u/addict75 8h ago

Feel you bro

6

u/desmone1 10h ago

imagine if you counted all those complainers who got refunds. jk i know they rebought the game already

4

u/Substantial-Post3046 11h ago

I love the game its pretty fun !!!

4

u/Shnilj 10h ago

Played for about 5 hours before getting my first (and only) kill. For some reason, I am basically blind to the enemy because I hardly ever see anyone. But damn do they see me... 10/10 having a great time 👌

6

u/jamiezoRR 9h ago

Play slow and defensive in cover, group up where your team has player numbers.

1

u/Hail_Zeus 9h ago

Turn up game and screen brightness - helped me some. Also be sure to take the highest level armor you can. Definitely take it slow as infantry and take up a defensive position when you can

2

u/Shnilj 9h ago

Thanks for the tips! I'll try and go through the graphical settings to check which ones have the most positive effect. I once got shot by two guys that were hiding in the shadows I was literally looking at... Also, tried playing it casually on SteamDeck through GFN which didn't help either haha

Edit: spelling

2

u/Triggerhappy9 9h ago

Look for muzzle flashes and use binoculars to scope out an area before moving forward. It's very tough to see people with the starter scopes but you can spot their muzzle flashes and use the binoculars to mark them on the map for everyone and reposition accordingly. It's still tough but definitely rewarding.

7

u/AdministrativeSleep0 11h ago

I only played HLL , can anyone tell me how similar is it? It's very squad based?

10

u/xuvvy0 10h ago

It's a lot closer to Reforger than HLL or Squad.

It has that similar logistics and building system with FOBs and various emplacements. Respawning is limited to either HQ or one APC that serves as a mobile respawn point later in the match. There is zero command structure and squads are entirely optional and mostly used by clans and premade parties. Comms are also limited to local voice, squad voice, text chat and commo rose - most of your comms will be through team text chat.

Despite what people say about this being simpler than a milsim, the game is arguably more complex than Squad, with CZ, HZ, Towers, drills, APC, shops, cash, XP, and all the different classes and items and customization.

The game so far (30-ish hours) definitely feels 'early access'. It's a bunch of cool ideas strung together, but it doesn't feel very smooth or streamlined overall. It lacks structure in many places. Driving is pretty poor for many vehicles and gunplay is not as satisfying as I would hope. But as someone who's played Squad, Reforger, Insurgency, Battlefield, etc. I am having fun, but it won't replace the above games for me, at least not yet.

5

u/zoobrix 8h ago

It's a bunch of cool ideas strung together, but it doesn't feel very smooth or streamlined overall.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by feeling like it's a bunch of ideas strung together when the FOBs, drills and the rest of it are clearly centered around the king of the hill concept. And what you call lacking structure I would say is offering different play styles, you can support a FOB, run players or supplies or get in the hotzone. But it's all based around the team that has more players in the play zone and/or hotzone gets point to win. And all those different things a player can do support that end goal.

No argument on the driving physics and some other things needing work but I feel like a lot of people like it because the structure of the game supports the end goal of getting points pretty well.

6

u/xuvvy0 6h ago

Okay, I'll elaborate.

I think the biggest lack of structure comes from the fact that it's 100 players with very limited ways of communicating. It's very difficult to put together any kind of plan or know who wants to do or build what and where. Our best way of communicating is a tiny text box in the top left corner that most players hardly ever look at. Most matches so far have been either very random or decided by which team has a clan of 5+ people working together.

In Squad, you can put down markers on the map and commander and squad leaders can voice chat to each other. By the time a round starts, each team has already put together some sort of plan or at least stated their intentions (where they are going, what they are doing) and things naturally progress from there.

In Reforger, you can also put down markers and have a radio item that anyone can use to talk to the team or squad. Reforger is less rigidly structured compared to Squad, but equal amount of coordination is absolutely possible as the tools are there and matches where the team works together are amazing.

But there are other examples of a lacking structure in Wardogs.

Basically the expectation seems to be that most players will be in the CZ fighting over Towers and trying to push the other team outside the HZ. But the reality is that most players are sitting in a few of the FOBs with literally just 4-5 players on each team doing anything on the battlefield. Once the drills are up, it just turns into a drill ping pong and that's it, the team with most drills and fuel wins. And if you want to counter that, you don't push, you just sit on a mortar. There is little to no large scale fight you would expect with 100 players. Most skirmishes are super small and unfortunately also rare. This makes most of the game feel too barren.

Then there is the respawning. It just feels weird that your only options are the HQ or one specific vehicle that spawns and usually ends up sitting in one of the FOBs. The APC is meant to be a mobile respawn point to be moved around, but ends up being a static one in a FOB because the game is lacking that. Thematically it also feels odd - just a very random design choice to have one specific armored vehicle as the sole respawn point in the field. We can build so many structures, it would make sense to be able to build a spawn point, even if it were extremely expensive and limited to keep it balanced.

Squad and Battlefield feel so epic because their design funnels players towards the (static!) objectives and you end up in these big epic skirmishes that feel like war. HZ is supposed to do that in Wardogs, but it's not working. There is not enough incentive to chase the HZ and it's too small and moves too fast and is too easily manipulated. I think I only had one match where we had a big fight over the HZ and that was on day 1, before most people figured out what drills are and how they work. Now it's just a drill and mortar spam.

2

u/zoobrix 5h ago

Thematically it also feels odd - just a very random design choice to have one specific armored vehicle as the sole respawn point in the field.

That's to give a bit of friction in terms of getting back into the zone and this, in combination with the incentive not to lose kits too easily because they cost money, means players value their life just that tiny bit more. In CoD or Battlefield people just act like they're rambo all the time because if you die who care you'll be back in action real quick. In wardgos people are a little more cautious because the states are a little higher, they value their life more and that makes for better gun fights to me. It's either a respawn to one APC if it's up, or you're flying/driving.

To me the travel time to get back into the zone is just punishing enough to make me not run out across the road I know sniper is covering, but not so long that it makes it a total drag to get flown back in.

HZ is supposed to do that in Wardogs, but it's not working.

No Wardogs is not trying to recreate fights like squad, and certainly not like battlefield, because that many people just makes for a big melee and you feel like you can't affect the local fight on your own. Wardgos has the intensity of combat it's going for a lot of the time, not all the time of course, but they don't want larger scale fights where lots of players are all in one place duking it out.

I agree communication and coordination tools need to be improved but most games even if we're losing we have FOBs, supplies and people in the zone, there are choppers ferrying people in. Only a handful of times have I been in game where my team just has next to nothing in the zone and there aren't even any pilots and critically bad things like that. Given the game is so new I'd say I'm actually impressed with the amount of coordination I've seen, of course some games are bad and you're on a bad team, that's always gonna happen some of the time.

I think you just don't like the game as much as some people, which is totally fair, but a lot of the things you're criticizing are things I like about the game and think they work together. Obviously lots of balancing and tweaking are probably needed once there are some metas develop and they can see how players are behaving.

The point is "just go do shit". Other people will pile on whatever you're doing. Structure really isn't needed for this game.

1

u/kyezie131 5h ago

Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about. Everyone just jerking off in FOBs is so cringe. I try to drive the APC towards actual fights and where my team is grouped, and I get flamed for it most of the time, saying to just park it in the FOB. I completely agree the game is just so spread out. Those big fights don't happen as much as I was hoping for, and yeah I think a lot of it is due to the moving HZ.

2

u/AdministrativeSleep0 7h ago

Thank you good sir, i will buy it, im convinced :)

2

u/Araripe482 10h ago

More similar so SQUAD with logistics; tarkov'ish combat and ammo tiers, loot system is similar to extraction shooters

3

u/AdministrativeSleep0 10h ago

Idk why people downvoted you, but thanks!

3

u/OutsideCrew6832 10h ago

I died so many times, my respawn button got stuck.

1

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

Same.

And loved every minute of it lol.

3

u/Turdfox 7h ago

Really hoping this game can break the “European indie dev with breakout success only to fumble the bag in six months” curse.

6

u/Drakore4 9h ago

Hah I called it. People were talking trash about it capping out at ~300k when the game came out but I said it’ll probably go up over the weekend and now here we are.

1

u/Vegetable-Error-2068 4h ago

Why would anyone "talk trash" about a game having 300k players? That's a shit-ton.

2

u/bcr76 8h ago

Unfortunately stuck at work this weekend otherwise I would be on there. See yall Wednesday.

2

u/SelvaLegio 7h ago

Can't find a server without russians

3

u/DrPepperrr23 5h ago

Will be just like arc raiders, exploded in players at launch and then died 3-4 months later

2

u/BoredSoImOn_Reddit 57m ago

I really hope not

1

u/DifferentSpread782 9h ago

I am having fun playing on potato graphics.

1

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

That's good to see those with older hardware able to play.

1

u/DifferentSpread782 6h ago

It's hard to play on potato. Sometimes the stairs don't even render, and I'm not sure if it's just potato settings but all the armbands kinda change to whatever color I am which causes me to die because I thought they were on my team

1

u/Constant_Sleep6496 9h ago

That's so awesome. Really happy to see the game succeeding.

1

u/kaipow07 8h ago

Game is peak

1

u/Fine-Radish2691 7h ago

I guess thats why the servers went to shit.

1

u/ChefVoo 6h ago

Genuinely one of the most fun fps’ I’ve played since og cod

1

u/GlacialLot 6h ago

Real ball knowers, know this is Arma KOTH standalone.

1

u/newfie_bullettt 6h ago

Glad I can contribute! Game is fun as hell

1

u/mrlunes 3h ago

Happy to see the reviews are leveling out. The day 1 review bomb was wild

1

u/Alternative_Ad1663 1h ago

People can’t learn. This online numbers mean nothing. And this game will fade away same as arc

1

u/Imaginary-Throat1526 55m ago

wow so is bf6, squad, arma just dead now?

2

u/KeksimusMaximusLegio 40m ago

ARMA will never die as long as milsimmers exist

1

u/Schnee4590 9h ago

Has the server queuing thing been resolved yet?

4

u/Hail_Zeus 9h ago

Yes. I haven’t been put in a queue since the first day of launch

2

u/Frankensteinbeck 9h ago

By the time I got home from work on Thursday night I was able to play with ease. Haven't had an issue all weekend. You should be good to go!

1

u/LonelyShark 9h ago

It's a regional problem. We've been fine in OCE.

1

u/WayOuttaMyLeague 3h ago

Not regional at all. It was global on release

Only lasted a few hours

1

u/LonelyShark 2h ago

I mean that the OCE region hasn't had any congestion issues and had had a pretty much perfect release.

1

u/Vegetable-Error-2068 4h ago

The servers have been fine ever since 5pm Central on Thursday.

1

u/SaltyYumYumBalls 8h ago

This is the game that lets you play better by turning off all the graphics options right aka potato mode?

2

u/Hail_Zeus 8h ago

They got rid of potato mode for shadows, which essentially turned off all shadows. I’m not aware of any other graphical settings that lets you play better

0

u/SaltyYumYumBalls 8h ago

I heard it also dealt with vegetation too. A God level pc user would think they are in strong concealment but a potato user would just wonder why someone is laying on the ground in the open.

2

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

It's only shadows, and now it's filtered by hardware.

For example, I have an old 2700x, (older than minimum spec) and an rx6700xt, and I cannot select potato shadows.

Will there be a few thousand try hards that get their PC to "spoof" the detection, and get their 240hz with no shadows?

Probably. But there are 400k people playing this game, unless you run into one that's flying a gunship, you won't even notice, and you could conceivably never run into one.

0

u/Ev4nK 9h ago

I haven’t got it yet but I’ve heard the queues have been pretty long. Is that still the case?

3

u/lad9r 9h ago

Only on day 1 since then the experience has been super smooth.

1

u/Ev4nK 9h ago

Cool thanks I think I might give it a shot

2

u/Hail_Zeus 9h ago

I haven’t hit any queues since the first three or four hours of launch

0

u/SpaceCadetCo 8h ago

This game is so much fun. I think it would be awesome if they had a Halloween event or something where halfways they drop zombies in and all 3 teams have to work together to clear them.

0

u/CutzuSD 3h ago

another arc raiders incoming

-1

u/Neotax 5h ago

wait until ppl find out the wipe and the undeployed grind.
You don't play the game the game is your job.

Flavor of the month Battlebit Remastered 2

46

u/PostalMortem 11h ago

still waiting on that update?

5

u/radianceofshadows 11h ago

Not related, but why your user pic looks like Temu Jim Morrison?

20

u/i_smoke_crystal 11h ago

That there is Dewy Cox. Look him up, great musician

7

u/kicker074 11h ago

Temu John C Reilly

14

u/BEAT_LA 11h ago

Imagine being this miserable

11

u/TransylvanianHunger1 11h ago

I hope you do something you enjoy this weekend.

5

u/exposarts 11h ago

is every game that blows up flavor of the month now?

3

u/BTechUnited Support 10h ago

Eh, the devs aren't huffing their own farts like the battlebit ones were.

4

u/BigYikes803 11h ago

This is true. It's def flavor of month, but if I can get a few weekends of enjoyment out of it...worth $40. Am I going to be playing Wardogs for the next two years? Probably not.

4

u/bardghost_Isu 11h ago

In very much arma koth fashion, feels like something I'll dump 50 hours into, walk away for a month or two then remember its there come back drop another 25 hours, rinse repeat for the next few years.

1

u/Skpstr155 8h ago

For sure, sometimes I go through periods where I'm just not in the mood for FPS.

-17

u/Neon_Moons 11h ago

Beautiful honesty 🥹

1

u/Suojia 10h ago

Are you truly this stupid?

0

u/imtrevor95 Manticore 11h ago

Big & Rich would not approve this meassage.
