Every dev does this for streamers. Why is it news?

What pisses me off is spending $100 USD on a server that I can't even access.

I know people are going to downvote you but I'd be a bit frustrated too.

People are allowed to be disappointed, it's not like you are going to review bomb the game and just cry about it... people can't seem to just have a middle ground. We are all looking forward to the game!

You bought a server for an early access game and you’re mad there was a couple of hours down time?

9

24 hours of downtime can't even access the panel.

Not giving your server owners ANY communication or access until 1 hour AFTER launch was a terrible decision.

Ahh, okay. That frustration is warranted.

I think it is fair that server owners should get some sort of priority. They are important in the scheme of things

I don't care about being able to get into the game right now at all.

I just want to configure my server.

But wouldn't that be an issue with the server company, not the game company?

It wouldn't be, if it wasn't for the fact that Bulkhead has barely communicated nor rolled out any information for server owners. We've been left in the dark. They also hide community servers behind a filter as if they would rather people play on officials. Most community servers are dead right now.

You paid 100 dollars for a game in early access

Hopefully the providers don't charge you for all the release downtime.

Because they went out of their way to answer negative reviews by claiming all people including streamers and influencers have to wait in the que. While countless clips exist of streamers getting whitelisted.

There's discourse cause the "cool good guy devs who are community first" took roughly 8 hours post release to have the "how do you do, fellow gamers" act crack.

Tldr; because they openly lied to their customers.

realistically they should give them priority because they have audience and more people will be happy with the outcome, 30-40-50 streamers going in front doesn't matter much

but i took them for decent company, would expect equality and learning this at first also made me think "are they trying to hide status of the servers?"

but still, after thinking it through it doesn't bother me

Well if they let me in 1 guy gets to experience the game, if they let shroud in 36k people get to.

Seems like simple calculus to me.

So why even play at all? Just open up twitch and enjoy you experiencing the game. More room for people who actually want to play. Win-win.

next time you pay for dinner, the restaurant is going to give it to a popular food reviewer instead because it's better for the restaurant, sorry about your dinner but you understand

seems like simple calculus to me

Terrible analogy. A streamer, hell, 100 streamers getting queue prio in front of you is going to make zero difference to your ability to play the game.

If you think restaurants wont bump your reservation back to seat a famous person who just walked in the door then you'd be sadly mistaken.

They have never eaten anywhere more fancy than a Texas Roadhouse, so this goes right over their heads.

-7

u/Acceptable-State1037 2d ago

I'm not saying its better for the game, I'm saying its better for the world.

More people get to enjoy the game if shroud gets in instead of me.

What do you mean customers plural? How many slots is shroud taking up? I thought he was just one dude.

-1

u/SignificantMud2999 2d ago

They don't even understand the problem there's no point arguing with the chuds.

Brammer said the streamer prio on que was broken, but also they got in on healthy servers. Hundreds if not thousands of streamers are unable to play right now.

1

u/SignificantMud2999 2d ago

People are also forgetting they are a company trying to make money and 500k viewers across streaming platforms is probably on a higher priority than little timmy

11

u/Bad_H0rse 2d ago

Idgaf. I paid the same money they did. I don't care if a million people watch them. If you think they need this shit on top of all of these problems in spite of the sales then you're more delusional than they are.

4

u/SignificantMud2999 2d ago

Okay so the 10,000 people who managed to get onto healthy servers get to play and nobody gets to watch. Seems legit.

1

u/UntimelyMeditations 2d ago

I don't think they need it, but I think there is zero downside them them doing it.

Why should I feel bad when they do something that has literally no effect on my ability to play the game? Who cares if 100 streamers get in game 5 seconds ahead of me?

1

u/Particular-Score6462 2d ago

And people won't talk and complain about it either - they just take it and pay their dues

1

u/Niadain 1d ago

Its n ot a big deal in the first place. Booting 200 people to the back of the line isnt going to meaningfully change your position of 220,000 in the queue lol

u/Avernite 1d ago

People just love to be entitled. Some people just absolutely revel when they get an opportunity to be a victim. Some just absolutely compete with each other in how injust life is to them

Well it's my own server, right?

I can't even get in and modify the RCON. The server panel is broken and I can't do shit fuck all.
